Today's Name Day:  Jakob

I had several more recent ancestors that were named Jakob.  All had the last name of Train.  All related.  An old swedish first name.  Never hear it now.  Maybe in Scandinvia.  My Train family used to be important.  They had a furniture store, radio repair shop, horse drawn carriage, repair shop, & funeral home.  One version of the funeral home was the second floor of the furniture store.  A block away was another location where they prepared the body but no service.  Then they moved to a large home of all their services.  That remains today. Beautiful.  There was also a large building just across the alley of their big business bulding.  For some reason it was torn down.

    Today just another day at home alone.  I had a long email today from JL.  She had lots of good news.  Nice to hear.  Glad for her.

    A miserable weather day here.  Right now it is 102F or 38.8C.  The humidity is 42%.  And no breeze.  I cannot breathe outside.  Painful.  My house has not gotten very cool today.  Probably need to have it checked.  Poor Daisy has to stay outside.  Wish I could bring her in.  I make sure she has fresh water.

    The next 2 days are replays of today.  I want to go to a program at the SVAFC on sunday, but do I really want to get out in this heat???

    Had photos from CF.  That cool Minnesota water looks inviting.  He is fishing on his days off.  I think he does not work on fridays or saturdays.

    TV is ok.  Watching Josh Gates.  He was in a haunted mental hospital.  Original it was like a huge town like arrangement.  Lots of kids/people were tortured & died with medical procedures.  Has a cemetery of 7000 graves.  Now he is in Mexico.  I love his shows.  Always learn something,  Better than all the murder & maim shows on the "real" networks.  I refuse to watch any of those.

    The kids slept near me all last night.  Babysitters!!!  😁

    I tried to nap & did a little --- heat & all.

    A good friend sent me photos.  He is now in Italy.  What fun.  I would just like to go to some nearby towns to take photos.  Of course there is no one who can or will  drive anywhere.  Of course not.  That would be asking far too much.  I might to enjoy life a bit.

    I have had terrible trouble getting my internet to work on my iPhone or laptop.  A while ago when my laptop updated there was one file I needed to use a password for it to sign in.  But I could not remember & just ignored it for a while.  Well in an email about my iPhone & etc.  They showed one how to change that password an easy way.  Really easy.  And like magic. Everything works perfect.  Well who knew.  It updated everything I own & all is great.  What a joy!!

    I got brave & checked my blood sugar. today  Almost normal.  Yay. Knee is much better today.  Walking without much weakness.  Guess I will survive.  And making sure I take my med for depression. Should help too.  Won't supply me with a support group or friends but maybe I can get where I don't give a damn.

01/2026 - Jueves the 01st - MY JOURNEY

Today's Name Day;  Arlen

An old Swedish name day list shows no name today but the app I have showed Arlen.  The name of our hired man before, during & after harvest.  Miss seeing him.  His son worked for us for many years also.  Life changes.  Good for some but not all.

    Had an ok day.  No plans. Was asked out for supper but my nephew & niece came over for a bit.  Worked at fighting depression.

    Today is the anniversary of my best friend John's death.  Think of him so often.  He is buried near Willie & Darren.  Always remember them when near the cemetery.

    I fell asleep on the sofa.  A good nap.  The kids were missing.  No idea where.  But when I got up they both showed up.

    Nice to see family for a short time today.  I had something for them & they were out checking cattle.

    Tired of family photos, etc.  I can only dream.

    JR said there were like 19 motorcycles at the Stuga today.  That happens often.  Marquette KS has a motorcycle museum.  There was a large group like that that parked near the Stuga one day.  And to my surprise they all came into the TrainsWhite Peacock.  But there were no tables in the front room.  I got brave & got the attention of one & told him the next room had a huge table for them to sit at.  They stayed quite a while.

    And JR also said the "for sale" sign is gone from the old Train Brothers building & there is stuff inside.  Wonder what is going on in there.  It will always be Train's to us.  Family business.  Furniture on the front lower floor, wagon repair in the back of the main floor, & radio repair.  Second floor was a funeral business.

    Sitting outside I saw another cat.  That is 2 cats running around the yard.  They both look healthy.  I cannot afford another cat!!  Be fun though.  Love cats.
