Today's Name Day:  Irene, Irja

Irene is a special name to me.  Had two relatives named Irene.  Married to different men with the same last name!!

    I wrote no blog yesterday.  Had a really long day.  But a good day.

    Last night I went to a great jazz concert by the Draper Family Band.  Music themes were Turkish, Moroccan, Egyptian, Spanish, Greek.  And awesome Turkish music in 9/8 rhythm.  We learned how to clap to the rhythm.  Fun!!!

The guitarist they had is the best in the USA & has toured here & all over Europe.  The cellist is from Turkey & is wanted all over to play.  And they did a couple of songs she composed.  It was just a wonderful experience.

    Today after sleeping good I got up & got ready to go to work.  I ate lunch as normal with no odd foods.  I was dressed & ready to go to the car & I got very ill.  Hoping it is just my touchy tummy & not the flu. 😰 So far supper is sort of ok but no appetite.  See how the night goes.

    I slept all afternoon today.  Supper was light & so far I am mostly ok.  I am sick & tired of being sick & tired.

    I got home last night & Coco was by my fence.  After my nap both Coco & Larry were by my fence.  Our llamas!!

    Very sad for the US.  Lithuanians paid our soldiers who died in a training accident a parade..  Their president & wife were part of the large crowd honouring them.  What did our "president" do when their bodies arrived in the US??  He attended a golf match with an Arab leader.  I am ashamed. 😞

    We had rain yesterday then it moved out.  But going in to the concert it was misting.  Came out to go home & it had rained,  Not amounting to  much but it all helps.  I had a whopping 0.20".

    TV sucks tonight.  Listening to a Rachel Maddow rerun.  Better than network shows I won't watch & don't enjoy.

National Homemade Soup Day

Today's Name Day:  Anselm, Ansgar

    Great day!!!  Rained all last night & all day today.  Not super hard just nice gentle rain.  So needed.

    Up early to meet MM & family at Diamaru for lunch.  Great to see them all..  Sure missed MM while he was gone working out of state.  And Kw.  And of course my great grandson, SM.  What a sweetie!!  Here is our photos from today:

    I had beef filet, shrimp, noodles, soup, crab rangoon.  Perfect & left overs for tomorrow.  Woo Hoo!!!

    We were a small group so we sat at a smaller table with 2 other people we did not know.  They were nice.  Family warmth is always good.

    Took a nap at home.  Slept really good.  Cinder stayed either on the arm of the sofa by me head or on my shoulder/chest.  I have no idea who or what sent her to me, but I am eternally grateful..  What a sweet loving me.  She was Nico's best friend & now gives me lots of love since Nico is gone.  Like she knows & understands.

    CF & his fiance are coming to work closer to here.  They sent many photos from Florida today.  I love Florida.  Wish I could go back.  Here is their photo.

    Watching the Grammy Awards Show.  Whether I know them or not fun to see & hear the music.  The first presenter is one of the few singers I do not care for.  So that is over with.

    Sort of a quiet week coming.  I some errands to run but nothing major.

06 may, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    I really did not have a good night.  Not sure why.  I could not sleep.  Fur kids cuddled with me but did not help.  My mind was on overdrive!!!  Took a nice long nap today.  Taking an anxiety pill tonight at bedtime.  And I started hurting in a couple of places.  Then today I was ok.  Now the pains are back.

    Cinder seems to be staying in the house more often.  Maybe she dislikes hot weather too!!  Today was awful.  I never got comfy last night.  That probably kept me awake.  Too hot.  Today I saw 94.5F.  Far too early to be so hot.  Last night was 67.5F.  I was too warm.  Ordered a summer blanket that arrives tomorrow.  Says it is cooling.  That will help.

    After a whopping 90 minute sleep this morning, I drove to Salina to get groceries.  Nice to have what I need.  I think every saturday is perfect to shop.  I usually have nothing to do then.

    I forgot.  I had a video chat with JS & SM last night.  SM had been in the clinic yesterday.  He is doing ok  JS has a cold.  Not feeling good.  Chatted briefly today.

    This weekend was the Millfest at the Old Mill.  Once a year they turn the mill on so people can see how it worked.  On friday they had 500 kids come in to take part in activities.  My boss is exhausted!!  I can imagine!

    I spent a lot of time tonight adding photos to my genealogy records.  So nice to see faces!!  Of my fave aunts & uncles & some cousins.  Just fun.

    Photos are nothing special.  In one photo you may notice a man in a kilt.  I do not know him but he lives in town.  Glad I got a photo.  Cool!

                    

 

                

05 november, 2022 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    Today was quiet & peaceful.  Home alone as usual.  Had some texts.

    Did not get all the sleep I wanted last night thanks to Nico.  My eczema was extra itchy.  I got up & put on anti itch lotion.  Nico thinks that any lotion of any kind I put on he must lick off.  He almost shoved me out of bed last night trying.  I finally turned on my light & scolded him.  Then he finally settled down to sleep.

    Today I took an extra long nap.  I know I can get a lecture of not sleeping during the day so I can sleep at night.  Or being called lazy, etc.  Well, I have 3 chronic diseases & just got over Covid.  Maybe I needed extra time today.  Decided I will not allow negative comments to me about my life.

    My nap was so peaceful.  I sort of remember a really calm peaceful dream I had.  And at one point I swear Willie was standing by me to arrange my blanket.  Was he?  Wishful thinking?  Nice, never left my side either.

    Before I fell asleep Kisse was on a table looking out the north window.  I have no idea what she saw but she would sit up straight & look out.  Then she would crouch down & look out.  Did that several times.  Up & down.  Maybe squirrels were out there harvesting acorns.

    I got word a friend died this week.  She was a special lady but I am glad she is at peace.  A world of history of our town & our cemeteries is now gone.  She was so interesting to talk to.  We walked around the one cemetery one day so I could take photos of graves she was giving a talk about.  But I learned much more than just those graves.  I love cemeteries.  Peaceful.

    We had rain last night but the forecast of 2" of snow was a lie.  We got nada.  Of course.  I have had almost 2" of rain in a couple of days.  Wish it would stay cool & not get too warm.

    Still coughing & still sore ribs.  Awful.  If I am laying down I have less pain but sitting or standing is not good.
