08 may, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

Slept good last night.  It was cooler so that helped.  My cooling blanket came today.  See how that feels tonight.  Our temps were 89.6 & 56.7.  Good difference.  Rain starts tomorrow.  See if they are right.

I had no plans for today.  Nice to be lazy.  Sat outside with the kids.  Nice breeze.  No humidity.

I worked on my genealogy & photos today.  Added many photos today.  Fun to see faces instead of a blank person.  Looking at family photos of gatherings of relatives almost made me cry.  All my uncles are gone.  Only 3 aunts remain & they are not blood relatives.  How I miss those get togethers.  And those people.  Looking at those photos I could hear their voices & laughter.  And older photos of people I never met but wish I had known.

While outside 3 huge turkey vultures flew out of a tree behind my house!  Wow!  Impressive.  And they kept flying over us.  Very cool.  I just got some binoculars.  Tomorrow will sit out & see what I can see.

Photos are not mine but ones I love.  Very pretty.

10 april, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

I did not plan on a Jammie Day, but I got no sleep & no energy.  I just never dressed.  Maybe do some later tonite.

Nice weather but too warm.  It was almost 90F outside & almost 80F in my house.  I turned the AC on.  Helping a lot.

Sat outside twice with the fur kids.  This evening there were 7 turkey vultures flying over the pasture.  They kept moving to the south & disappeared.  Then pretty soon they were over my house.  Probably checking to see if Nico or I had died.  Then hoping the buffet is open!!!  Fun to see when they are flying low to the ground.  There was a group of other birds that either landed on my pond or near it.  No clue what they were.

A while ago I bought some little cans of food for Nico but he did not seem to like it.  But tonight I tried it again.  He scarfed it down like he was starving.  He would have eaten more if I offered.  Kisse thought it smelled good.  Maybe give her some to see if she likes it.

Cinder has been outside all day.  Just hanging around the porch.  She came in to eat a bit & now gone again.

Today is Happy Siblings Day.  The first photo is my brother & I a long time ago!  All other photos are flowers.  I took none of them.

29 march, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

Very warm out today, but chilly last night.  Dreading summer heat & humidity already.  And today a sure sign of summer in Lindsborg is that the turkey vultures have returned.  Have not seen any out on my farm yet, but soon.

Great weather tomorrow.  Not.  High winds & fire warning.  Love it.  Cannot get rain but we can get wind & fire warnings.

Worked at the Old Mill this afternoon.  Back to working on the one room school houses.  Got one long school done & a couple of short ones.  Really enjoy the photos.

JR & I had supper at Jalisco's.  Sort of busy.  I ate too much.  Saw an old friend there.  We had not seen each other for a really long time.  Nice moment.

Got home & Nico in his usual evening get into everything not nailed down.  Tiring.  He found package of Cheetos.  Most of them were gone but he snarfed them down & promptly got on the sofa to puke.  Made my day.  Stupid dog.

I have sat outside 3 times with Nico & Cinder.  Cinder climbed up a tree.  The look on Nico's face!!  He was dumbfounded that she was in a tree!!  Then Cinder jumped on the carport roof & then jumped on my car.  Nico again could not believe his eyes!!  Then she slid down my front window & left foot prints.

Photos are just a mix of things I like.  Nothing special.

Surviving the Pandemic, Day 395....

Had a nice day. Steady rain all night and some today. Had half an inch. Frost warnings continue this weekend and snow chances early next week.

Miss Kitty walked on and turned off the off/on button on the surge protector for the Tv. So irritating.

JR and I ate at Jalisco's tonite. Very busy with inhouse orders. All booths filled. Only one small table had people. And large boxes of take out meals. Our friend GE was waiting for us. Nice visit and meal.

Saw all the turkey vultures on our water tower. Drives the city crazy. I like them. Nothing they try to scare them away has worked. Just leave them alone. Loud noises bother the neighbors not the birds.

Always be kind. Wear a mask.

Photos are from tonight.
