21 september, 2022 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    Super day.  Peaceful & cool outside.  Need lots of days like this!  Temps are good.  I think during the night it was in the 80s & then dropped when the cold front arrived here.  Before my rest period it was 77.  Right now it is 59F.  Windy this afternoon & now.  Loving the weather!!!

    Last night there was a flicker in my tree.  A large woodpecker.  Cool to see.  This afternoon I saw a blue heron out by my pond.  Huge wings.

    I think Nico has been preparing for cooler weather.  He is under my blankets more than he is on top.  Adding a second blanket tonight.  And maybe a winter nightgown.  Will be hard to get up tomorrow.

    Today was a work day but the board or someone was using the archive area where I work so I could not go in.  I could go in tomorrow but I already an app't in Salina.  I would barely get there when I would have to leave & then no time to go back.  I am not happy I already had plans.  Phooey.

    Supper was at Jalisco's.  They got sort of busy & lots of takeout meals.  Good conversation.  CT always makes sure to say Hola & Adios.  He is special.  JS was ornery.  He always makes me smile & laugh.  I even got a hug tonight.

    My friend in Morocco video chatted with me a couple of nights ago.  He was walking home.  It was mostly dark.  I like seeing where he lives.  I like seeing him.  We had a nice visit.

    Nico got his yearly shots yesterday.  He was really slow last night.  Sort of like me after my Covid shot or flu shot.  He ate late.  Went out twice to potty & he could not.  He laid close to me & slept.  Today he is normal.

13 september, 2022 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    My nights are never good anymore.  No need to repeat.  Getting old.  Could not even nap today.

    When Nico dumped my large Pepsi over on the floor two of my charging cords quit working.  The important one was for my Remarkable 2.  My entire life is on it.  I had a board meeting tonight & my minutes were on it.  It was charged to 17%.  Did not use it much.  But I got my minutes & that was important.  My new charger cord was supposed to be here yesterday but did come today.  Charging now.

    My nephew warmed me he was going to be near my house & there would be noise.  No big deal.  Except for Nico!!  And I have no idea what happened in the bedroom but Nico returned to the sofa & Kisse followed & looked like she had seen a ghost!!  What a wild look.  Then it took her a bit to calm down before her nap.  Poor kitty!

    Had a board meeting of my historical group.  It went good.  Had two missing members.  And need a new member.  Have an opening for one.  I skipped the program.  Back hurt & I wanted to be home.  Feel better on the sofa.

    Before the board meeting I had a quick burrito & ice cream at Jalisco's.  It was really quiet.  I was glad to now have to cook.

    Weather is nice.  Our temps were 64F & 97F.  Slight breeze.  The sunset tonight was spectacular!  Will share a photo.

    Photos tonight are from Morocco.  I have a good friend who lives there.  How I wish I could visit him.  I like these photos as there are people in them. Not tourists.  I love the blue & white buildings.

                    

Wandering Through Life, 9 September 2021

    Another home alone.  After getting sort of sick last night I feel ok today.  I am grateful. 

    I had a video chat today with JS.  I was surprised.  A welcome one.  See him tomorrow.  Later my friend in Morocco and I had a video chat.  Always welcome.  He wants me to come to Morocco so bad.  Not sure health wise I could travel so far.  Wish I could though.  He is special.  Love photos from there and hearing their music.  He is a Berber.  His parents farm in an oasis.

Sheltering in Place, Mood Of Silence, Day 260....

 Another quiet day. I had plans with my brother but just not up to it. More achiness. Probably change of weather. I hope.

Bad news this morning. Jalisco's is going to carry out meals only. I was sure they would as Covid is just too bad. I am sure the other 2 restaurants will follow soon. Covid is just awful now.

Covid 19 - how hard is it to avoid large crowds, wash your hands, and wear a mask. If I can do it anyone can. Just need to think of others, especially those vulnerable. We will never be rid of it  if selfishness reigns.

My friend JG has moved away. I will miss him but we can text. But I did video chat with JS and my friend AB in Morocco.

Kisse was odd last night.  She was in my bed three times. All cuddly and even curled up once. I think she wants to sleep with us but just cannot bring herself to. Probably Nico and his jealousy. Then  this afternoon Nico was extra snuggly. Change of weather snuggles? Very nice though.

Still saying snow on Wednesday. We are in either the 1-3-" area or the 1" area.  Sort of between. Probably I am in the no snow area. As usual. But I am dreaming still.

Sheltering in Place, Mood Of Silence, Day 232......

 A busy day, for me anyway. I slept so-so. The weather is too warm for me. The house got far too warm. Had the ac on a bit.

I took myself out to eat for lunch. Dined high on hog - Arbeys. Then over to Dillons to get my grocery order. Think I will stick with them. Can order anytime and get it delivered within hours. And the mostly have what I want. And no limit on what you must spend.

Late afternoon I took 2 bags of trash out. First time I did it and not JR. He moved the bins closer to the house and that makes a big difference.

This morning I had a murder of crows near the front yard. I could see them and they were really loud! Fun for me. Maybe they are planning to go south.

Tonite I sat outside for a bit. A male deer with nice large rack passed through my pasture and driveway. But, of course, I had no camera with me. Dang.

Most days at home I am mostly alone. And I feel like no one remembers me. But today was different. First a friend sent a sweet message of maybe getting together. Then my friend from Morocco wrote a nice message. We send a message almost daily to each other. And the best was a long chat from my friend RW in Ireland. He has some suggestions for my loneliness. I laughed so hard!!!  I like them all!!! Made my day. I am grateful for you all!!!

Nico thinks he must sit where I am. He does not understand I will move when done with my blog. He is now laying across my shoulders. He is so stubborn!

Photos today are old ones and some not mine. Celebrating Day of the Dead of Mexico. Also are photos of some family/friend graves when I lit a candle on them like the  Swedes do on All Saints Day. Wish that was a custom here. Should have gone to Willie's grave. Will next year.

It is amazing what a short note or call can do for someone else. I was blessed today.
