    Here we are again in a wind warning.  We do have winds here in Kansas but this year is totally unusual.  And tiring.  Today was pretty warm also & humid.  I saw 91F outside.  The humidity outside is 46% but inside my house it is 50%.  Icky.

    JR & I had lunch at Jalisco's.  They were very busy again.  Good to see.  JS & CT were in good moods.  And MS from the kitchen came out to say hello.

    We went to the cemetery after lunch.  I had a new little statue to put on Dad's grave.  I thought I had flowers in a box in my trunk but there are none.  I feel bad.  And with the awful winds we have had some of the old flowers were ripped off down to the vase.  I will order some this week.  I got photos of the flags that are up & my husbands grave.  Our nephew always visits at Memorial Day & leaves a bouquet of wheat.  And there is usually a can of beer on his grave.  I think that is from his best friend.

    Last night was the night from hell for me.  I could not get comfortable in any position.  My back & leg were very sore.  I applied a variety of ointments that mostly did no good.  Towards morning I finally fell asleep.  I was ok today until I tried to take a nap.  I finally gave up.

    Surprised my eyes have been blurry for weeks.  Today they are pretty clear.  Maybe the humidity helps them!!

25 may, 2022 Wandering

    Believe it or not, it is still raining!!  Quit raining during the night but started again this morning.  And has not quit yet.  Earlier today my rain gauge was half full.  Too dark to see now.  Not a light rain.  Needed my wipers going pretty fast!!!  This is wonderful.  Except for the weather girl from California who wants the 98F day to hurry & get here.

    Today I worked at the Old Mill.  I was supposed to run the upstairs office as my boss expected to be busy.  But the rain put a damper on that.  So I went back to the basement & did about 4 school districts before I was done.  Small districts.  Love the old photos.  One had a horse & buggy in it.  Had a good day.

    Then home to get Nico outside.  Cinder was close.  I gave her a treat before going back for supper.  The rain was a bit lighter while home.

    Picked up JR to eat at Jalisco's.  PM joined us.  And they got extremely busy.  When we walked in there was a long table filled with food & booth table filled with food.  The college softball coach came in & all the food disappeared.  The team had food.  Nice for them.

    Even busy JS had time to tease me.  But CT & MS had no time.  I should have poked my head in the kitchen to say hello!

    I took JR to the grocery store after we ate.  It was pouring down then.  Got home & Cinder was waiting & so was my black cat was there also.  Now everyone is fed.  And happy.

    Strong winds out & I am debating whether to sleep on the sofa to keep warm or go to bed.  Time to decide later.

    The fur kids must be happy I am home.  Nico & Kisse were bonding on the floor.  She was licking his face & he did not bite her.  A rare moment of caring.

    Today was a good day.  Except I seem to be more tired than usual.  I am blaming Nico.  He had me up too often last night.  Poor sleep until around 4am.

    This afternoon I took a nap that was extra good.  It was warm in the house. The heater was on.  I have a new outfit for home wear only.  So soft and warm.  And for once I had no pain anywhere.  But again Nico had to wake me.  It was time anyway.

    JR is back to normal.  I am glad.  We went to Jalisco's for lunch.  They had steady business and many take out orders.  CT, the new guy, always greets me with shaking my hand.  I am speaking Spanish & he responds in English.  I do know his English is limited.  He always understands "ocupada hoy"  & says it is!  JS was in an ornery mood today.  Good to see.  Has a project I am helping him with.  He is still researching.

    I saw 42F last night.  Chilly.  The house was super cold when I got up.  In the low 60s.  Our high was in the 60s.  Supposedly rain is coming tonight & tomorrow & could cause flooding.  Here??  Really??  No winds today.  Just a soft breeze.

    I went to bed really early last night and missed SNL.  I just watched it.  Four cast members are quitting.  I will miss them.  One is my favorite.  I will adjust.

    Cinder has started sleeping in the old shed.  No idea why.  Something new living under the house maybe.  But she hears me and comes running!  She is so loving.  Kisse would be if Nico was nicer to her.  He is a brat!!

    JR found something new to fix at home for meals.  I will try it tomorrow.  I like most anything with pasta!

    Sorry I messed up the date yesterday.  I did not see that until later in the evening.

    A cold night & day.  I worked at the SVAFC & it is usually cool but it was perfect today.  My house was in the lower 60s this morning.  Brrr.  I turned my heater on.  It was 70 when I went to work & still 70 now.  My feet are cold.  Socks are on.

    I had a good work day.  It is soooo stressful to greet people & ask them to sign our guestbook.  (-: And hopefully chat a little, especially for travellers.  Love to hear where they are from.  I had one guest.  I know her well.  She was & still is in my Swedish group.  She looked at the art & looked through one of the books we have for sale.  She will get a copy later as a Christmas gift.  Then she stayed & we had a nice visit.  She always encourages me to come back to my Swedish group.  I would like to but it is too different.  It just is.  Will not say more.  Do not want to hurt anyone's feelings.  I also have been asked to work a saturday in June.  The workers at the Red Barn have to work a weekend.  Sometimes there is a conflict between the 2 places.  I am grateful to be asked.  Might have new art in by then.  And I can take my new cup home!!!

    I had ordered 2 things for JS's birthday.  The second one came today.  I did a quick supper at Jalisco's.  He had a favor to ask me.  And I told him I had his gift but did not bring it in.  He almost beat me to my car.  He knew what it probably was.  And he was right.  I got a nice hug.  Worth it for sure!

    Think JR is better but staying home.  Good.  He was going to watch movies today.  A movie marathon!

    Cinder has been all lovey dovey today.  I adore her.  Other 2 kids have been good today.  Lucky to have them.

    No ticks today.  The one from yesterday has no doubt died.  Good for it!!

    Photos today are some old ones & some from today.  A couple of magazines I read at work.  I love the two tone sunflower.  Never seen one before.  The statue is on the college campus.  It is Carl Aaron Swensson, founder of our college.  It is a water fall also.

                    

20 maxeday, 2022 Wandering

    Had a busy day.  I started the day after lunch "vaxed, boosted, fueled, momentarily rich, & home to rest before burrito time".  Translation:  After all my Covid vaccine shots I got my second booster shot.  Then for culture shock I filled my car up fuel.  I was not on empty & it cost me $51 to fill.  But for anyone who has traveled in Europe or has friends there, fuel has always been around $9 a gallon there, except they buy it by the liter.  I needed money for someone so until I give it to them, I am rich.  Then home to rest but no sleep.

    Had supper alone at Jalisco's.  JR is under the weather.  A friend came in with her sons and she ate with me.  She works at the school and it is out in 2 days.  Will lunch then until she goes back to work.  Really nice to have someone to chat with.

    Nico had another tick on him.  I tried to remove it and he fought with me.  I hope it attaches to him but I am cluesless.  When he bites I give up.  My hands are sore enough from RA without him biting.  What a brat!  Think I would be used to things not going my way.  I hate ticks and summer.

    Got pretty cool last night.  The house was in the low 60s today.  Now it is 74F.  Tomorrow is to be really cold out.  Have to find something warm to wear.

    Had very strong winds overnight.  With a wind warning.  When I got up this morning, Cinder's water bowl was muddy brown.  Ick!!  Poor baby.  How I wish I dared to let her come in the house.  She is so loving.

18 may, 2022 Wandering

    I had a busy day with good sleep last night.  Had a thunderstorm with some wind but no hail or gale force winds.  My rain gauge had 2" in it.  Hard to believe!

    I hate to get up too early so I sleep as late as I dare to.  Then I rush around to get ready.  Today was not too bad.  I work in the afternoon.

    While getting dressed I had a pill to take.  It started to dissolve in my throat & it hurt.  I had a coughing spell that was not good.  As a result I totally forgot to put on deodorant.  Great!  So a quick stop in Dollar General for deodorant, bandaids & a candy bar.  Now home & I cannot find my bandaids.  I looked in the car & my purse.  Got to be here somewhere.  A mind is the saddest thing to lose.

    Worked at the Old Mill.  It went good except I made 3 errors.  I forgot to change schools so I had to delete some photos in one school & move to the correct school.  Then the last thing I do with a photo is to save it.  There are 2 choices ---- save all or save one.  If you are not speedy enough it will save all.  That happened twice.  I could have cried.  But I got it fixed.

    I picked up JR for supper.  Jalisco's were steady.  No MA so JS was working alone.  But he did visit a little.  And he took time to help me with my Spanish.  That is nice.  Wish we could spend more time together.

    After supper JR & I went to his office to discuss some things.  I was terrified I had done something to upset him.  I am always paranoid.  Even in the best of days.  It was not me!

    Came home & greeted by Cinder.  She let me pet her a lot.  How I wish I could bring her in.  )-:

    Rain out west again.  With weather warnings.  Sort of moving this way.  Was going SE but now more east the last I looked.  See how the night goes.  I have not had time to watch any weather today.

    Photos are a mix.  The car is from a neighbouring town & worth more than I can say.  I was honoured to see it!  The V8 Energy drink is what I drink when I need to not yawn.  It has a great taste & no dangerous drugs in it.  Love it.  And all 3 fur kids in one collage.  Nico was a baby and the cats were today.
