Today's Name Day:  Laura, Lorentz

I know several Lauras just here in town.  Or know of them.  Must be a common name.

    Had a nice day.  Slept good. Then went to Lindsborg KS to await friends for lunch at the Blacksmith Coffee Shop.  It was a real blacksmith shop from years ago.  I had not been here in several years.  I worried about where to sit but there is tons of seats!  And they have a great menu!!  I had a chicken paremesan quiche.  Excellent.  I will be back often!!

    We had a nice visit.  Good to see my friends.  Always needed.

    Weather is on now.  High winds tomorrow & cold.  The highs on saturday is only in the 20s.  And continued winds.  Brrr.  These cold fronts continue to play havoc with joints.

    I had a nice nap after I  got home.  Cinder was there off & on.  Kisse stayed close.

    I found an early photo of Cinder & was surprised how small she looked.  She is healthier now.  And eats good.

    I actually had a text or two from MM. But I had to text him first.  I might actually see him after work on saturday.  See how the day goes.  Hope I stay warm at work.  Will dress in layers.

    I got tired of my large purse & went back to a smaller one.  Hope that works.  Easier to use.  Time will tell.

    Mailman put a huge box on my porch making it difficult for me to get to my door.  Had KN come move it today.  I hurt too much to try.  I know what is in it ----- kitty litter.  I will need it in a few days but hopefully then I feel some better & can carry it in the house.

    Soon supper time.  No clue what to eat.  Need something new.

    Spanish lessons are a bit easier.  Won't last.  Never does.  But nice when it is a bit easier.

    Watching the stupid national news.  I should not watch.  Makes me sick.  We are hurting the entire world.

07/2025 - Jueves the 17th - JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Bruno

    Had a good day & night.  Nice sleep.  Cinder lay on me often.  Kisse was nearby where she can see me.

    Today I met my thursday lunch group.  We went to the newest place on Main Street called The Sale BARn.  There was no parking place any where on Main!!!  I finally got a place across the street where I could see the door easily.  We got a table right away.  All 4 of us were there.  Fun to see them & we had good conversation.  I tried to talk much less.  I never let anyone else have a chance to talk.  Probably since I an alone so often.  Hope I was better.  I am trying.

    I got the Hangover Burger.  Hamburger, cheese, pickle, & egg.  I did not get the tomato & lettuce.  It was perfect.  Will return for sure.  Next time no side orders.  Just too much food. Bothered my tummy a little.  They do have alcohol.  Did not check to see if they had a rum & coke.  Sure they might.

    Someone tried to charge something to my one credit credit so I needed a new one.  That was my second stop.  Very nice young man helped me.  When my card was ready he walked me to the front door & held it open.  

    Inside the bank is some awesome created furniture made by a local artist.  Cannot sit on it.  I am related to his mother.

    When I got home it was nap time. And had a good nap.  Then I felt better.

    Great weather last night & today.  Had rain overnight.  I got 0.93".  Very nice.  Today stayed cloudy & 73F all day.  Perfect.  Tomorrow will suck again.  Up to almost 100F.  And all next week.  I dread it. Hate heat & summers.  Will stay inside all I can.

    Talked with KN today.  Thanked him for mowing my yard & drive way.  We have a mutual friend who has lost half of his leg.  He is diabetic.  He got his first version of his new leg yesterday.  Hoping he does well with it.

01 june, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    I got only 2 hours of sleep around 7am today.  No idea why.  Less pain, but still some.  Cinder rarely left my side all nite.  Good to be loved!

    Sleep or no sleep, I met my grandson MM for lunch.  We both needed some down time.  We met at Jalisco's & talked almost until they closed.  No change in his mom.  Hard times.  How well I remember with Willie.  It was good to see everyone there.

    I actually learned a new Spanish word.  I know a lot of simple words but I had no idea what the word for "ice" is.  And I needed more ice for my drink.  And we all were clueless.  The word for "ice" is hielo & it is pronounced just like the word "yellow".  Easy peasy!

    I tried to take a nap when I got home but it was a short one.  A sharp pain woke me up & that was it.

    When I left the house for lunch, it started to rain.  And it rained until we left Jalisco's.  Rain is building up again so maybe we will get more.  Nice.  It stayed in the 70s today.  So much better than the 90s.

    I am so grateful for MM.  His frequent texts make me feel so much better.  And when I text him he answers, even if just one word.

    I have a group about my town with 6,000 members.  Several have been acting up for 2 days.  I am fed up with those who cannot read & then argue with me about the rules our group has.  My last comment was "My Group.  My Rules!"  Sheesh.  Turned all commenting off on that post.  Enough.

    Sat outside with my binoculars today & yesterday.  Hard to see good with them.  I can only use one eye.  My other eye is weak so maybe that is the way it is.

    Photos today are all peonies.  They are photos from my favorite peony site called Peoniefufu.  Gorgeous.  Wish I could afford to send myself a bouquet.  The first photo is not from them.  One I saw & edited.
