02/2026 - Fredag den 13:e - MY JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Agne,  Ove

Have known an Ove or two.  Have a cousin Per Ove but goes by Per.

    Not a good day.  Very sore from sliding to the floor yesterday when my chair tipped over.  And trying desperately to find a way to stand back up.  So today both of my knees are very painful.  No amount of pain cream has helped.  And my back while always hurts is worse today.  Hurts just trying to lay comfortably in bed.

    I was hoping just to eat in my car for supper so JR could get groceries afterwards.  Did not happen.  I got very sick to my stomach after lunch.  I tried medication that failed. Cancelled supper.  Ate next to nothing here at home.  Usual sick tummy or stress from falling?

    Had an ok nap with my cat babysitters.  They both sense I am not well & stay close.

    Too warm today again.  Rain in the state.  No doubt will miss me here.  Always does,  Back to drought weather.

    I managed to take out 3 bags of trash.  They weighed nothing.  All paper stuff.  Both bins are almost full.  Maybe one more bag before next tuesday.  Maybe.  Even sat outside briefly.  Quiet.  Nothing exciting to see.

    Olympics is on now.  I wish that curling was bigger here.  I like to watch it.  Interesting.  Already know that my favorite male skater performed really bad.  Will hate to see that.  Dang.  Wish I did not know before seeing it.

    MM shared lots of photos today.  Fun to see Atlas & Sorion.  And MM.  One lady made a comment that Atlas & I look alike.  Quite a feat considering we are not blood related at all.  But I love all of them like we are true family.  And they treat me better than "real" family who ignore me & JR.  Only my Denver family treated me like I was truly family.  I sure miss them.

    I am liking my new desk.  Just need to adjust the sofa.  Not today or this weekend.

    Ready for the holiday to be over.  I hate holidays.  I always sit at home alone.  Tired of celebrations I can never be part of.  FOMO.

12/2024 Fredag the 13th - Wandering & Capturing Moments

 

Today's Name Day:  Lucia

    Today’s been pretty great! I had a good night’s sleep with hardly any pain, which is awesome. It’s been a bit chilly today and last night. 

    I received the news today that a man who was a close friend to both Willie and me passed away yesterday. We shared a friendship that spanned many years. The memories I hold are truly cherished.

    I kicked off my day with lunch at the White Peacock with my friend LL. They were super busy, and I was worried we wouldn’t find a spot, but luckily our usual table was open!

    I headed over to the Old Mill Museum for work. I wrapped up Folder T and knocked out all of Folder U, which only had four photos, so that was a breeze. Then I tackled Folder V, and it had fewer than ten photos, so that was quick too. After that, I moved on to Folder W, which had a ton of photos, but I didn’t get around to scanning them yet.

    Supper was a delightful Mexican feast. I enjoyed my favorite burrito, which was absolutely delicious. For dessert, I had a flan that was equally tasty. 

    One of our waiters has a wife who works there too; her name is Lucia. Today is a special day for Lucia, as we have a festival in town for a Swedish lady from years ago.. I made sure to tell her husband so he could share the news with her. The joy on her face was priceless; her eyes lit up with excitement! Throughout the day, there’s Swedish folk dancing, various talks and programs at the Old Mill, and special meals prepared by different groups. In the evening, there’s a big event at the college. I really wish I could still walk to join in on the festivities.
