Bastille Day in Paris

Today's Name Day:  Folke

    Another day I to cancelle.  I had hoped to eat supper out but it will wait.  RA & my stomach rules my life today.  I did sleep good though.  My glucos sensor was pretty quiet.

    Hot again with a teaser forecast of maybe rain this afternoon.  No clouds at all.  Just heat & humidity.  😞

    Had a text from CF.  Nice to hear from him.  Glad he is doing well,

    Before supper I had a video call from JS.  Nice to see & hear him.  And he paid me couple of nice compliments.  I end every day with a post on my private diary about what I an grateful for.  They will certainly make my list.

    I got a photo of Kisse's new hideout.  She only sleeps there now.  She is hidden.  But she can watch me all night.

    Hoping tomorrow is better.  Need a few groceries after supper.  Pictures tonight are a mix.

My best friend John who was born on Bastille Day.  He was in France years ago on Bastille Day & he was very sure the fireworks were for his birthday!!!

I wish I had had someone who was a protector for me when I was a child.  I had no one who protected me .  I hope I treat others better than I got treated & protected.

My kids.  I think of Nico daily & still miss him a lot.  He was so close to both cats.

Today's Name Day:  Amalia, Amelie

Love the name Amelie.  The name of a favorite movie of mine.

    Today was so-so.  Strong cold front gave me the usual pain.  I cancelled the day.  Did not sleep well last night.  And we needed groceries but the store was closing early.  Tomorrow is better.

    The weather showed lots of rain during the night.  Not here at all,  some places but not around me.  We did get some rain but not enough to get me excited.  Got 0.38".  That will not help the drought much.  But it was cool & cloudy all day & I liked it.  Nice napping weather.

    Only mostly heard from MM.  Kids are all in Wichita so no photos of them.  Hope MM feels better today.

    I had a video chat with JS this morning.  Nice to see & hear him,  Must try for more often.  But our schedules are difficult.

    Need to go get the mail.  On sundays the delivered mail is always left in my mail box.

National Horchata Day

Today's Name Day is Gerhard, Gert

    Another quiet day.  OK until I went for a nap.  My one knee hurts often but once I get moving it is ok.  Not today.  I could not sleep.  My entire leg hurt.  Walking is so-so.  Hurts even when sitting.  Cancelled eating out.  With chronic illnesses there is always something.

    Too warm today.  Saw 89F.  All week is to be this warm & no chance for rain.  Where did autumn go to???  No bueno!

    Had a video chat with a friend & his partner.  Nice visit.  Had some texts from CF & MM texted off & on all day.

09 june, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    I slept good last night.  Around 8pm I got really tired.  No idea why, but I could have went to bed then.  Slept good all night.  Odd.

    Had severe weather warnings this afternoon.  In Marquette & McPherson.  Nothing here.  Lindsborg got some rain but not much.  Maybe rain after midnight.  We were over 90F today.  But a nice breeze helped.

    JR & I ate supper at the Crown & Rye.  We both wanted Swedish Pancakes.  They are almost as good as the ones I make.  And they do not upset my stomach.  Yummy!!

    Just had a long video call with JS.  Good to see him & talk to him.   I miss him more than I ever imagined.

    Photos are from this afternoon.  Took a bunch!!  Visited the cemetery & Willie's grave is fine.  I hope Karma takes care of the one who vandalised it.

                    

14 april, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    Today did not go as I planned.  But that was a good thing.  Got up, had lunch, & watched all my soap operas.  Then lay down to rest.

    JR planned to take photos at a high school track meet.  No supper planned.  But we have severe weather warnings & it kept sounding worse so JR decided to forget photos.  We went to Jalisco's instead.

    One of our workers is returning to Mexico in a few weeks.  I will sure miss him.  He always greets me with a smile, a hand shake, & friendly words.  Today there was a new guy there.  I was introduced.  He is quiet, of course.  New there.  But he had a ready smile.  Hope he is nice.

    During supper JS & I video chatted.  I let his friends there see him & wave.  He thought maybe he knew our new guy but he does not.  Good to chat.

    Storms to the west of us.  Just got a warning about some strong storms on the way.  Believe it when I see it.  I even turned my rain gauge upright.  Cinder went back out.  Hope she stays close.  Rain would be so wonderful.  I can dream.
