National Old Stuff Day

Kind of appropriate as the art show I worked at the art was mostly very old art.

Today's Name Day: Erna, Ernst

    What a great day!!  I wish I had more of them!!  I worked at the SVAFC.  Lots of visitors but no one to let me in.  Hmmm.  Easy fix.

    There is an artist who went to college here then moved to Alaska.  Now years later he is moving back here part time.  He is an awesome artist.  His birthday is monday so there are many Alaskan people in town to celebrate it.  Plus other artists that used to live here.  Nice to see them again.  And to be remembered.

    My fave artist & person was sitting outside of the studio smoking so I went out & sat with him.  Nice weather so good to be outside.  Nice visit.  And then others joined us.  I stayed out until some went inside.  Then so did I.  And to think I was upset I brought nothing to do all afternoon.  😁  The time was full.

    I got photos of all the art.  The show is our yearly Lindsborg Connects art show.  Anyone local person can show a piece of art they own.  Always a good show.  Fun art!  My nephew KN's uncle always does a large piece of art in metal. Love his work.  Nothing shown there is for sale.  Privately maybe but not during the show.

    While sitting outside I took odd little photos of Main Street.  Those are my photos today.

    Tomorrow there is some food for those who have art in the show.  A thank you treat.  And there are pies to eat.  And a birthday celebration.  And tons of people!!  I might have to skip going out to supper.  Hate to miss any fun.

    I could not decide if I should eat at home, take something home, or eat in town.  I ate in town.  It was the quickest.  Then I can just relax here.

    When I got home I was met with a new baby calf & mom.  I took a photo of them & sent it to KN.  He was next to them tagging the baby's ear before I got to my house.

 

    Weather was quite warm.  I saw 72F.  It was nice.  I sat outside with Cinder when I got home too.  Lots of people walking around town.  Nice for a change.  Be the same tomorrow.

    The weather maybe nice but I have hurt foar 3 days, with each day worse than the one before.  I can barely walk today.  And bilateral hands/thumbs are killing me.  Even applying deodorant is a challenge.

National Chocolate Cake Day

Today's Name Day:  Göta, Göte

    I am so frustrated.  Turned on my laptop & no Chrome.  Means no blog.  Grrr.  Had an update & did that now it is all ok.  I hate Windows.  Monday I will arrange to ship my Mac to Apple to get fixed.

    Other than Windows, I have had a great day!  Worked at the SVAFC all afternoon.  My fave artist who opens & closes for me had more friends here today.  One couple stayed for a while just to chat with me.  The wife was a former nurse also.  It was a good time.  A couple of local ladies came in & we chatted also,  There was a carving class in the backroom.  Wish I could have taken it, but with painful fingers & wrists I would not try.  My great grandmother was a carver.  I do not have her talent.  😞

    MH, the artist, went to get some lunch & brought me a hot tea.  Very good.  I am so glad I have met him.  A very interesting & talented man.

    Foggy & cloudy again.  Stayed in the 30s.  Warmer tomorrow.   Weather guy says 51 here.  And for most of this week.  The rain/snow next weekend. I avoided all mud in my yard.  It is not pretty.  My car looked awful.  I removed huge clods on my car.  Still looks bad.  Car wash tomorrow.  No time today.

    Cinder actually asked to go outside today before supper.  Shocked!  Have to call for her again soon.

    I was so tired at work.  Slept better last night though.  I tried to nap but failed.  I would like to go for a drive tomorrow & take some photos.  But if JR does not want to I may just cancel the day.  Or go by myself.  See how the day plays out

    This week I am tired of politics & of sports.  Hard to ignore either.

    I had a great day!!!   Stept good.   Cinder & Nico in bed with me.   Kisse on the chair next to my bed,   Nice to get up in a good mood.

    Met LL at the White Peacock for coffee.   She took a little time off to meet me.   She needed a break & so did I,   Good visit.   Made plans to meet again, when, & where to eat.   And shop.

    When she went back to work & went to the bank for my credit card that quit working.   They fixed it.   Great!   Some awesome art in the bank lobby.   It is furniture but a local artist.   He is a relative but I am sure he is clueless.   Took photos to share.

    Then I went through the car wash.   Bird poop again.

    At home I sorted through mail & boxes.   Did a load of laundry.   Have to hang them up soon.   Splurged on supper again ---- popcorn.   Nico likes it also.   Then we really splurged --- Old Mill Mint ice cream.   Nico & I really like that!!!

    Then fed all the fur kids while watching Christmas with the Kranks.   I remember most of it, but like it.   It is making me cry at the end.   Lately it does not take much to make me cry.

    Changed the music in my car from Trans Siberian back to Mannheim Steam Roller.   More my kind of music.

    My bestie JS called me for a video chat.   Missed the first call so he wrote the sweetest note.   Made my week & I do not feel so invisible.  We talked a short time.   Nice to see & hear him.   Got to get his gift in the mail.

    A cold front comes tomorrow or tonight or tomorrow night.   Probably why knee hurts,   Probably no snow for me but just rain.

    Photos are mostly Swedish things.   The first one was taken in a town settled by Swedes,  taken by a Swedish Scandinavian &  edited by the same Swede.   So it does belong in a group of Swedish things!!

                            

17 December, 2022 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    In a slightly better mood.  Cannot even explain how I feel.  While I worked today I spent time writing how I feel.  No need to whine to anyone.  No lectures or being ignored or being thought stupid.

    I worked both yesterday & today at the SVAFC.  I was let in by my fave artist, MH.  I am so glad I have gotten to know him.  He is special.  January he has an art show here.  I can hardly wait.  I will share a few photos.  No visitors yesterday.  Looong day.  Almost the same today.  I got sooo tired I almost fell asleep sitting up.  Around 4 a friend & distant relative came in.  We had a nice visit.  And I woke up.

    After work I called in a to go order at Jalisco's.  Just good to be around friends.  They all talked to me!!  A couple I am friends with came there at the same time.  And JS dared to sit them in MY booth.  They laughed & said they knew it!!

    I woke up today with a message from CF.  Always a good thing.  A sweet message.

    Felt sick during supper.  Ate too fast for my hernia.  Does not happen often.  No fun though.  Too scared of surgery too.

    Cinder was not here until noon.  And gone again now.  Too cold to be traipsing around.  Hope she is here before bedtime.  I was going to bring here in tonite for a while.  Sigh.......

    Photos are Christmas.  The tree with lights inside was our tree years ago.  I miss having a tree.  The collage are my fur kids looking like Christmas.
