Today's Name Day:  Agata

    I had a great day today.  Stayed very cold overnight with fog & icy roads.   I read online that the roads were worse further south so I was not too worried about going to work.  I even managed a short nap after lunch so I was feeling good to drive.

    The road to town looked either slick & icy or just wet.  I drove safely at a slower speed.  In town the streets were fine.

    Working on a book of photos from a family.  They have lots of photos. No clue how many albums to go through.   I got that book done & started another one..  The first book one of the ancestors had a fur farm. Too many photos of dead animals.  Usch.  Second book is just people.  Much better.

    We discussed politics in the office today.  We are all scared & fearful of things that are taking place in our country.  It is awful.  Plus we had a local happening to discuss.  Lots of busy talk!

    LL got us all drinks from the White Peacock.  Always good.

    Warmed up a bit this afternoon but when I left work there was freezing drizzle falling.  Did not last long,  Fog forecast for tonight from 9pm through 6am.

    I have had a terrible time trying to get a coat that fits.  The first one was the right size but felt like I was drowning in it.  Second one was too small..  I could only wear like a tee shirt under it.  Ordered a third one.  The large size but no hood.  Perfect.  I tried it over my sweater & cardigan.  Perfect.  Roomy but no huge hood to get in the way.  I like it.

    Mexican supper.  Good to see my friends who work there.  One waiter's wife & daughter were going to leave & glad they changed their minds.  He would have missed them sooo much.  Me too.  Nice family.

 

12/2024 Fredag the 27th - Wandering & Capturing Moments

 

Today's Name Day:  Johan, Johannes

    Had a so-so day.  Poor sleep.  Bad headache.  And bad depression.  My left foot & calf hurt.  Weird.  Even sitting is not good.  Nor laying down for a nap.  I cancelled the day & stayed home, resting.  No work again for a week.  Dang.  I miss it.

    Felt too warm in the house last night.  I turned the heat off completely.  Until middle of the night I got a bit chilly.  Then barely turned it on.  I felt better that way.  Fog last night & more on the way here now.  Colorado has snow.  Missouri/Oklahoma have rain.  And here we sit staying dry.  Really frustrating.  Love being at work there.

    My TV remote is totally broken.  Turned the electricity off overnight.  Tried it again today.  Really bad.  Cannot do any thing with it.  New one gets here on sunday.  Hope it works then.

    I can get CBS on my iphone.  Missed my soaps but that is ok.  I got the news tonight Now stupid shows but at least there is noise here now.

    Only emails today.  Not much else from anyone else.  JR had to do with no meal out tonight.  Sorry.  I had a TV dinner of spaghetti.  It was really quite good.  Will buy again.  Still have several to eat first.  Have mac & cheese too.  Did not salt it & needed to.  Try again.

    Just took some pain pills.  Hope they help.  Feeling miserable.

Today's Name Day:  There is no name for today.

There is no name listed on Dec. 25 on the Swedish calendar of names.  .  Christmas is considered a day of celebration for everyone, not just individuals with a specific name; essentially, everyone "celebrates their name day" on Christmas Day in Sweden.   

    Today was ok.  I slept so-so.  We had heavy fog all night & this morning.  Have a fog warning again tonight the though tomorrow morning.  It stayed fairly chilly all night & today.  Same tomorrow.

    I got all the gifts wrapped last night.  Could not find my scotch tape so I used what I had.  Not the best but after they were opened no one knew!!  I bought 3 coloring books, 3 teddy bears, many colored markers, a jigsaw puzzle.  I am clueless  what little kids like.  I do have ideas for the future. MMJ likes to color & it looks really good.  SM loves rockets, etc.  AM makes his own fun with whatever is there & likes cars.

    All of us ------ me, their mom, & the boys were there.  We enjoyed each others company & lunch.  Two of us were missing due to decisions they made for themselves.  Their loss.  Dysfunction continues as usual.

    Lunch was pancakes, syrup, sausage links, bacon & hot chocolate to die for.  Kids ate in the kitchen but KW & I ate in the living room.  And were able to have a nice talk.  Love her.

    The kids are so special.  AM would quietly walk up to me close just to say "I love you".  More than once.   SM would come over for hugs.  MMF wanted me to stay & not go home.  Their dog totally ignored me.

    I took a short nap at home.  Cinder jumped on my chest right away.  I did not sleep long but just laid with Cinder.  Both cats got treats early in the day since it was Christmas.  Found something that Cinder loves.  Maybe feeding early is good.  They have not bugged me since then.

    I have fought tears since home but will survive.  Only matters to me how I feel.  Tired of Xmas.  Not saying it one more time.  Or writing it either.

    Josh Gates on the Discovery Channel has done a show on the real Santa Claus.  I have seen it before but watched it again.  Starts with a Saint hundreds of years ago.  He was very honoured.  After he was buried a piece or two of his body was removed & taken to other places.  Venice was one.  Forget the other one.  And the last I think Chicago.  All those pieces have been tested & they all match.  And they all are Santa Claus.  Very interesting.  They knew who was buried from then to the ones present now, they are the same man.

    Photos tonight are Christmas trees.  Then mostly done with Christmas.

Today's Name Day:  Anna

A special name to me.  Have a cousin in Sweden named Anna.

    I switched up my plans for today. I decided to cancel my trip to Hutchinson since it’s trash day. I nearly overlooked it, but then I thought better of it. Now all the trash is out in the bins.

    Slept well last night, but I'm still dealing with my usual aches. They get better once I start moving around.

    The weather guy actually gave me a bit of optimism for our winter. He mentioned that January and February are going to be quite chilly, and he’s predicting anywhere from 10 to 20 inches of snow in Kansas, depending on your location. I can totally dream about that!

    Last night was super foggy! I couldn't even see the lights in KN's yard, and my shed was totally invisible. I could barely make out my own yard light. Thank goodness I wasn't out driving in that mess!

    I had a pretty good nap, but I have no clue where my cats went. They weren't in the bedroom like they usually are. They've got their secret spots to chill in.

    The pictures today are all about Christmas. The first one you see at the start of my blog is a shot I grabbed from a drone video. So cool! It would be awesome to catch something like that in person.

National Weatherperson's Day

Today's Name Day:  Agata, Agda

    What a day!!  Just screwed up my laptop.  Again.  Trying to remember what all I had on here to blog with.  Hope I have them all here.  It is always something.

    We had fog last night & until late this afternoon.  I guess more tomorrow early.

    I slept ok but had one moment of missing Nico so much it hurt.  Bad.  Then I dreamt of being in Las Vegas but nothing football.  Thank goodness.  Tired of it all.

    I had one huge bag of trash to take out & hoped it would fit.  Lucky it did.  Got an email from the trash company saying they will pick up trash tomorrow.  Anyone wanna bet if they make it or not?  Out of the last 4 pick up times, they have missed them all due to weather.  The did make it once on an off week.  Only once.  I still have trash to take out but no where to put it.  Cannot just set it outside.  Wild animals will tear it all up.  The company could at least offer a refund.  HA!!  I managed to get many boxes in a trash bin so they stayed dry.  I moved all the others near my porch out to the bins.  I could care less if they are soggy or not.  Not my problem.

    Had a good nap today.  Feeling slightly depressed.  Probably just my RA & Nico.  Errands tomorrow.  See if that helps.

    Kisse is a cat that marches to the beat of her own drum.  She is unique.  I have an empty large box in the living room that needs to go outside.  But here it sits.  I have a plastic bag of trash I set on top of it.  Kisse has a small opening where she can climb in to sleep.  So when I walk by if I look closely I can see her eyes looking out at me.  Think she slept there all afternoon.

    Too many RA symptoms.  Dry skin, really sore hands, headache.  Had been ok for the last 4 days or so.

    More photos from CF.  Still in Florida.  MM has his oldest son with him today.

    Cinder out all day but now wants out again.  Nope.  Too dark & too many bad things out in the dark.  She will whine for a bit then get quiet.  She never acts upset.  She still comes to snuggle.  And sleeps near me in bed.

    I live in Saline County in Kansas. This morning in the heavy fog a much less than intelligent person was stopped driving at 116mph here in my county.   In the fog.  How stupid must one be??? Lucky he never killed anyone.  Or himself.  Hope they throw the book at him.  Or several

    Chilly today but warm tomorrow.  The wind is forecast be strong midweek.  And my one tv channel keeps hinting at possible snow on the weekend.  We shall see!

    Photos are winter ones.  The first three are ones I took.  That one grave always has flowers on it.  Used to be just one flower.  Now more a bouquet.  A friend & I used to add flowers.  We are no longer friends so I assume she keeps it up.  If I see it with no flowers I always get some to add.
