05/2024 Onsdag the 29th - Wandering & Capturing Moments

National Senior Health & Fitness Day

Today's Name Day: Jeanette, Yvonne

What a great & busy day I had!!!  MM texted me early this morning & wanted to do lunch at noon.  I said that would work.  We met at Jalisco's.  They were really busy.  Great to be there.  He left earlier than me so I just hung around in the booth there.  The crew working on repairs at the Old Mill were sitting next to me..  I had a great visit with the 2 closest to me.  Fun talk.  One I have known for years, the other is new to me.

Work was good.  Doing the photos of men with no identities.  It goes fast.  Once in a while one catches my eye for a reason or other.  Happened today.  Very cool.  I saved a copy of it.  But will not say why.  Just in case someone recognizes them.

After work I made it to the pharmacy to pick up meds.  Then to the car wash.  Car has been filty for a while.  Supposed to rain the next few days but I still needed to clean it.

Picked up JR & back to Jalisco's.  It was a little equieter.  Found out that MA's brother who I am friends with is a new father. MA showed me photos.  I am so happy for him & his wife,  His parents are staying in the US for a while to help out.  Love those two!!  Baby boy named after his grandfather!!!

Dessert was a snow cone that is FINALLY  open.  Sooo good!!! Then we went to pick up a few things to eat at the grocery store.

JR & I have talking about family.  Our great aunt & uncle used to live on a farm.  JR remembered it but no idea where it was.  So we drove out where it was.  All buildings are long gone now.  Sad.  I loved the house & the memories.

Concerning family, both CF & MM said after JR & I cannot decorate graves they will take over.  I actually feel hopeful.  Some of my family will not be forgotten.  I have  really good grandsons.

Home now.  I am tired.  Cinder was in for a short time.  Bring her in soon again.

Mosquitos have invaded this area.  Or so I hear.  They sprayed in town so we saw people sitting outside, etc. tonight. Spraying must have helped.  I have seen none.  Got home & gathered all my stuff to bring in the house.  I saw one tiny mosquito.  Came in & put on bug repellent.  One more reason I hate summer.  Awful.

I just read where FB is having difficulties.  Great.  NOT.  So far I am ok here so far.

Photos are a mix of ones I like.

Grandson MM & his dog Gracie.  Love them both.

I only edited this one.  Some of my favorite colors.

I took the flower photo.

I took this one.

04 september, 2022 Wandering

Had a good day even though I am feeling sort of blah or down.  Yesterday was such a great day but driving past our old wheat field & pasture brought back so many memories.  I cannot quit thinking of those times.  And how I miss Willie & farming.

I no longer farm.  I own a small bit of pasture in a huge pasture but who knows for how long.  Part of that pasture was sold by my son without telling any of the family & just left it up to us to fence it off so our cattle do not mix with the new owner's cattle.  God forbid he could give us a clue.  What a disrespectful way to do business & treat family.  But the new owner is a nice guy & they all worked together to get things right.  Sure made my son look bad, as it should.  He is.

Even seeing the remains of Buildex yesterday is sort of upsetting.  I remember when it was going strong.  And now it just sits.  I want to go back for more photos.  When it snows.  Could be good photos.

What great weather.  Our temps were 52F & 85F.  Awesome!!!  It was great to take Nico out when it was 52F.  Gives me hope!!!  What I would not give for a screened in porch!!  There are still bugs.  I was just out & these little bugs dive bomb at my head.  Not sure if mosquitos or what.

Yesterday while taking photos a huge bug flew in a window.  I never saw it again until today while driving to town.  Looked like a huge huge fly.  He made it to the dash so I opened all the windows.  And luckily he got sucked out the window.  Great!!

JR & I ate lunch at Jalisco's.  They got very busy.  Love it there.  And to see my friends.  I managed to see all the kitchen help.  Always good.

My grandson called this afternoon & gave me an update on his health.  His life is going to change & be totally different.  He is still is trying to adjust.  It is overwhelming & will take a while.  I have the same chronic illness so I can answer some questions.  I hope he follows the doctor's orders for the best results.  Will hear again after the next appointment.

Holiday tomorrow here.  No plans.  If Mom & Dad were still here we would go into their house for sloppy joes or bbq burgers.  But I am just home like normal.

Photos are some that I have edited.  I did not take them all.

Wandering Through Life, 30 august 2021

The cool weather is gone.  I saw 90F. Tonight little breeze.  Tried to sit out with Nico but there were little bugs that kept bothering me so inside we went.

I had a lunch date with a friend but their plans changed.  No biggie.  And since I had my makeup on and clothes on I decided to head there for supper.  And I had a screen protector ordered for my new phone and JS was going to put it on.  Another reason to go eat out.  New protector is on.  The one cook came out to sit with me for a few minutes.  I like him.  When he was back in Mexico he used too call me here.  No idea why.  There was a lady there who spoke good English who helped us talk.  Then he moved and the calls stopped.  Maybe he used her phone also.  No idea.

On the way home I stopped at Coronado Heights.  There is a group that go up there once a week to hike, run, exercise, etc.  When I left, the road had cars going both directions and people all over running or walking.  That was a new experience.

I stopped in the cemetery to say “hello” to Willie. God, I miss him.  We were together for close to 60 years if you count our dating.  Life just sucks.  I had other people to say “hello” to also.

All the photos are taken this afternoon. Lots of sunflowers.  LOve them.  Even a few in my yard.

Sheltering in Place, Mood Of Silence, Day 202....

A great day!!! And very busy!

JR and I started the day with lunch at Jalisco's. JS was cooking in the kitchen something extra. So besides my shrimp dinner, I had a bowl of frijoles charro. It was heaven!!! I ordered him to serve this more often!!

While eating I got a text from JR2 about having coffee after lunch. I agreed but I had other things to do first. The hospital had a drive through flu shots. Great idea!! I was in and out within 15 minutes. Then I rushed home to take Nico out and feed him and Kisse.

JR2 and I met at the White Peacock. They were really busy so we went out in the courtyard. It was quiet and peaceful. Love it there. But the gnats were bad and it turned cool so we went inside and there was another friend GE. The three of us had a great visit. Need more time like that!

I bought a sandwich for supper. I got ham with mayo and lingon. Anything with lingon is good!!

I turned Acorn TV back on. I picked a new series on there. And it is in both English and Swedish. Called Wistling. Then I turned to Dead Still. All English.

Photos today are in the Peacock.

Sheltering in Place, Mood Of Silence, Day 192....

I really had a great day today. I want to thank ND, DD, and JR. And the wait staff at Jalisco's. Perfect day!

Sleep was sort of nonexistent until around 5am. Getting used to it.

Met ND and DD at the Blacksmith Coffee Shop this afternoon. The weather was awesome so we sat outside. Perfect day. Just nice to sit with friends and talk. And since we were outside we had our masks off.

After tea I picked up JR and headed to Jalisco's for supper. They were slow until we were leaving! JS's boss was there with his wife. Nice to see them. He and his brothers grew up next door to Willie and I. Known them forever. I am so grateful he has hired JS to work in his company welding.

Weather stayed in the 70s today. Warmer weather is coming for about 3 days then a cold front is arrives. But not a chance of rain. Been at least a month with no rain. And every day they say no rain for 10 days. And it never gets fewer days. Not good.

Late this afternoon we saw the sun and blue sky. The smoke is clearing. No red sun tonight.

Photos today are just a mix of nothing important. I have had a praying mantis on my porch. But I usually see him at night but this afternoon I got some photos of him. Very cool.

Sheltering in Place, Mood Of Silence, Day 183....

Fairly quiet day. Nice weather. Highs in the 70s. Sat outside once. Maybe rain next weekend. We need more.

I picked up JS paycheck and took it to town. I was rich for a moment. He is sooo trusting!! Plus I had money to transfer to my savings account.

I just got an alarm there was something outside. It was a sparrow in front of my camera. Cool to see. Might be one that sleeps under my car port roof. I will miss them when they leave.

Autumn is coming. I see the barn or field sparrows are gathering in groups. In october the junkos return. I love them.

Photos are a mix. Some mine, some are not.
