08/2025 - Viernes the 01st JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Per

Known several Pers.  Mostly relatives or friends in Sweden.  Including one who mentioned today is his name day!!

    Had a good day.  Started with lunch at the White Peacock with LL.  She could not stay too long.  Short of help at the Mill.  But we had a good visit.  My lunch was excellent.  A build your own sandwich  ---- a biscuit, egg, cheese, & bacon.  Yummy.

    Then I worked at the SVAFC.  New art show.  This month it is the John Whitfield Retrospective.  It is by far one of the best shows ever.  He did all kinds of art  ----  paintings, copper, cement, sculptures, wood, & more.  I love just being there.  Had many visitors.

    Then the editor of the local newspaper is having trouble.  I cannot figure anything out.  Neither can my assistant.  We worked most of the afternoon.  The editor & his wife are not very internet savvy.  I work there again on sunday so maybe then I can figure something out.  He is such a nice guy.  I feel awful for failing him.

    MM introduced to one of his friends.  She and I are now friends.  Had a nice morning chat.  I like her.

    Supper was Mexican.  Good food,  I got my supper before JR did.  Pretty soon one of the staff walked in carrying a grocery bag with hamburger buns in it.  My had ordered a burger!!  I giggled knowing JR waiting not on cooking but the bun!!  Fun!!

    Got home & I crashed in bed.  So tired.  I woke up about the time for my alarm & I was totally confused about whether it was the middle of the night or not.  It was not.  So I got up to work on my spanish.  Went better than usual.

    I have one Swedish friend who posted for 2 days nothing but videos of where he was & he spoke about things where he was.  It was great to hear his voice.  I might try that.  I did not understand too good but I did pick out a word or two.  He is also part of a group who plays American bluegrass music.  Love those videos.

07/2025 - Lunes the 28th- JOURNEY

 

Oh the dreams of fools.....

Today's Name Day:  Botvid, Seved

    Just a day of rest.  No plans.  But got an email from someone to work an entire weekend at the SVAFC.  I am  free that weekend.  Very cool.

    I slept extra good last night.  No idea why.  But I liked it.  Still had a good nap too.

    I swear after lunch I heard a car door outside shut.  Not long after I got a notice  that some mail had been delivered.  Went out just now to bring it in.  There is nothing anywhere.  What did I hear then???  No reason for KN to be here.  Odd.

    There was no Cinder this morning.  I got up & had the TV on.  I fixed my lunch.  No Cinder.  I got worried.  I called her several times.  Still no Cinder.  Kisse was all over me.  Pretty soon she showed up.  She has a sleeping nest where there is sunshine.  Probaby all warm & cozy.  Been around ever since.

    Have started drinking more tea.  I have some cold brew  tea bags.  Brew in a short time.  And very good.  Have one that is berry flavored.  I remember one I got in Sweden that was I think forest berries.  It was better but mine is ok.

    Got an email from JL.  And several texts from MM.  He as to move stuff around in his house.  Maybe showing it tomorrow.  And the floor replacement guys.  No bueno.

    Rest of the day was quiet.  As most of my alone time is.

    Hot & humid today.  I saw 97F here.  Last night was rather cool.  Good for sleep.

07/2025 - Jueves the 24th - JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Kerstin, Kristina

Have known several ladies with these names.

    Poor sleep last night.  I cancelled part of my day from being tired.

    Had a small rain shower.  I got 0.09".  Not enough to write home about!  Tonight heavy rains, flooding, etc. are forecast.  One of my apps say it will start around 11pm.  There are clouds out there.  It stayed mostly cloudy today but the air was overwhelming.  I never get used to it.

    The ponds here are all full.  Look good but if I get several inches of rain my driveway could be under water part of tomorrow.  I never drive through it.  I thought years ago I could.  When the water went down there was a huge log in my drive.  Could have damaged my car driving over it.  I just do not do it.

    Saw my eye doctor today.  There was a young man in the office running errands, etc.  He came in my exam room to move the chair into the correct position.  When he talked he sounded exactly like his dad, my doctor.  Nice guy!!

    My exam went ok.  Big improvement since my lazer treatment. But still cannot see good.  Probably never will.  He chose to make no changes to my glasses.  I see sort of ok IF my glasses can stay in place properly.  No matter how many times I have my glasses adjusted it is never right for me.  Nose pads on my glasses help the best.

    When I got home I took a much needed nap.  The kids had missed me & joined in.

    I know more than one person who thinks if I am running around & doing stuff I am ok,  I am never ok.  I am always in pain.  Always.  People just cannot understand.  And assume.

    Cats aren't eating as much as usual.  Maybe the weather is affecting them in the house.  They seem normal in all other ways.

    Cinder was looking out her window.  Staring at something.  And she was making quiet little sounds.  I feel guilty not letting her outside anymore.  Has she forgotten how scared she was?  I just cannot let her out.  Too many dangerous things around here.  What scared her is probably still here.  We used to leave Nico outside all day on a super long leash, in the shade.  No way would I do that now.

    I found some microwave spaghetti on Amazon.  Heat it for one minute.  It was pretty good.  I am out of sauce so just used a tiny bit of butter, salt, & cheese.  It was ok.  Fast & easy.

    Photos are almost all flowers.  Found some new ones today.  A video from Sweden of flowers helped me add some new ones.

05/2025 Fredag the 23rd - Wandering & Capturing Moments

 

Today's Name Day:  Desideria, Desirée

    Had a great day!  Met LL for lunch at the White Peacock for lunch.  New art there for sale.  Awesome.  Hope to have photos to share tomorrow.  Fave artist MH was there & the owner was there adding cool things.  She is a very special lady!  I treated myself to a cranberry lemon pudding muffin & green tea.'

    Before work & fueled the car!!  Yikes I was almost on empty.  Scary!!

    Worked at the Old Mill.  Finished the photos I was working on.  There was a total of 100 photos.  Grabbed another big handful of photos.  Got them all sorted by size looked through a few to see if LL knew names.  There were quite a few I knew some names.  When I got to work it was raining.  Did not last too long. Then dry.

    Supper was Mexican.  I had a burger & fries.  Not too hungry.  They do nice burgers.  Found another Mexican place in McPherson that has pasta dishes.  I plan to try it.  Yum..  Quite a bit more expensive.  Still trying it.

    Got home & took a short nap.  Really tired.  Long day.  Cinder was glad to see me.

    We are now in a severe storm watch.  Do not like that.  Probably won't get much sleep.

    I learned my lesson this week.  Keep my mouth shut about things got me upset earlier.  Worked good.  No tears tonight.
