Sheltering in Place, Day 174....

What a day!!!  Soccer started at Bethany College. I picked up JR at 415. It was hot but with low humidity and a nice breeze. Not too bad. Women played first. And lost 2-3 in two overtimes. But they played very good. I think they are going to be great. Like the new coach.

We then went to eat at Jalisco's. We discussed 3 options and picked there. It was quiet and almost time to close. JS surprised me by saying hello. He had worked all day on a house he is helping build. Came to Jalisco's to cook his supper.

Back to the men's match. They played really well. But lost 2-1 in two overtimes. I got home at 1030. Exhausted!

Kisse must have missed me. She was watching for me out the window. Glad I fed her before I left!!!

Got such bad news tonight. A relative is positive for Covid 19. Dang. I just cannot lose her. Wish I lived closer so I could help. She said she does not feel well at all.

Today was around 98F. Tomorrow a bit warmer. On tuesday high in the 60s and lows in the 40s. Really??!! Oh, be still my beating heart!!!

Photos are from tonight. One is the cutest tiny pickle slice with a face I got at Jalisco's. Cute..... and I ate it!!! Also a photo of my custom made soccer bracelet for Bethany soccer.

Look at the moon tomorrow night. Or tonight if you are up. But first read my first photo here.

The Plague, Day 151.....

I can finally stay awake since my surgery so JR and I took a road trip and had a wonderful day!!!

We took out this afternoon for the Hebron Lutheran Church, but made a quick stop in Lehigh KS first. It is east of here. I visited there before and there were some people buried in the cemetery that had a family name. I just knew we were related but when I got home, could not find them. Then recently I viewed a cousin's family tree. And there were those names. So went back today and took photos of all the graves. Very good.

We drove in to Burdick KS. They have a great butcher there but I had no way to keep the meat cold. Next time. After Burdick we drove through Lost Springs KS. There is an abandoned church there I love. I have heard it is being worked on. I hope so. So I took several photos of it.

Next stop was Ramona KS. I had never been there. A nice town. Then went through Gypsum KS and on to Lindsborg KS.

Supper was at Jalisco's. Great to see almost all my friends there! Been a loong time! And had not had Mexican food. Just as we were leaving JS came in the back door and yelled at me. He is now working part time next door to me. But I never see him. He welds. I will stay away.

I will describe the photos I am sharing.

Early Lindsborg KS firemen. A couple look familiar.

1915. High school building. When I went there it was grades 5 through 8. Torn down now.

An old mill. We had 2 of them. The other one still exists and is fully restored. This one is gone. Around 1915.

This was the main building called Old Main at our college, Bethany College. Was the tallest building around for many years. But a committee decided to tear it down. It was a tragic loss. And they were sorry later but sorry does not cut it.

Years ago the stores in my town gave out coins when shopping you could use on  your next purchase. I think I might have one of each but every so often a new one turns up. D. Johnson was an early citizen that had a large department store.

Sunset tonight. Fires and smoke from Colorado makes our sunsets extra red. I should have not gone home and took photos of it.

Post eye surgery. New glasses from the internet and no makeup. I never go without makeup but I cannot wear any for 2 weeks. An app put make up on me!!

Quarantine Day 89..

Hot day but not too humid. Hotter this weekend. Harvest soon.

I made it to Dollar General. Needed bread. And cookies. And cat food.

Picked up my brother and we ate at Jalisco's. My favorite waiter worked tonight. Next week the restaurant may open a little more normal. I am scared.  I will see how it is.

My waiter brought me a mask made by a friend of his. It is very nice. A different style than I usually wear!

Next week my Swedish group is hoping to meet in person again. Not sure I can attend a meeting with 20 plus people and I would bet most will not have a mask on. I will probably just quit. No choice.

Nico and I sat out this afternoon. He was laying in the grass and one of my turkey vultures swooped down to check him out. Cool to see him so close!

Photos are from today.

Everyone please always wear a mask when out and wash your hands often.

Above photos are of the new cell phone tower and a leaning elevator. Can you find my brother in the top photo? I zoomed in the second one.

Above photos are of Bethany College. The statue is Carl Aaron Swensson, founder. He even has a mask on. He is far too old to go without one! The football/soccer field just got new turf. Looks awesome. I can hardly wait for soccer this fall, if it happens.

Me and my new mask. Very cool!! I may have to invest a couple of others.
