08/2025 - Lunes the 19th - JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Magnus, Måns

was sort of a friend with a Magnus & still know him as an adult.  My great grandmother's last name was Magnusdotter.  Meaning she was the daughter of Magnus.

    Slept ok last night.  Had plans for today.  Got a late start but then all went well.

    While MM got showered & dressed I got  smothered in love by his dog Gracie & Rolo a sweet dog he is babysitting.  They were just what I needed today.  They both were on me at the same time.  And once in a while Gracie would quietly growl reminding Rolo that I am HER grandma. Cute.  Rolo went home tonight.  Wonder if I can get visitation!!  Sweet dog!

    Then lunch was at the SaleBARn.  And we got a big surprise when we got there.  A great friend to both of us, AA, is working there.  Very cool.  And what a major hug I got from him.  Known him since he was in college here & the soccer team captain.  Lordy they need several like him.  Got 4 new team members this week.  Hope they help.  Have to find out his hours there so I can eat there then.  Great food.

    Then we went to the bank & then groceries for MM.  He was out of everything.  I got some monday night but I forgot things I needed.  No big deal.

    Sky looked quite stormy out but Lindsborg or my farm got nothing.  Other nearby places got heavy rains.

    We have cooler weather on the way.  Sunday the high will br 78F.  Heaven.  Friend CW who does not like hot weather. We had a long chat on the cool weather headed here next week.  Won't stay of course, but the break will be heaven.

    Could see that Jalisco's is busy working inside.  Hope it is going well. 

    I tried to take a short nap but it was just a rest.  Hope I sleep good tonight.

07/2025 - Jueves the 17th - JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Bruno

    Had a good day & night.  Nice sleep.  Cinder lay on me often.  Kisse was nearby where she can see me.

    Today I met my thursday lunch group.  We went to the newest place on Main Street called The Sale BARn.  There was no parking place any where on Main!!!  I finally got a place across the street where I could see the door easily.  We got a table right away.  All 4 of us were there.  Fun to see them & we had good conversation.  I tried to talk much less.  I never let anyone else have a chance to talk.  Probably since I an alone so often.  Hope I was better.  I am trying.

    I got the Hangover Burger.  Hamburger, cheese, pickle, & egg.  I did not get the tomato & lettuce.  It was perfect.  Will return for sure.  Next time no side orders.  Just too much food. Bothered my tummy a little.  They do have alcohol.  Did not check to see if they had a rum & coke.  Sure they might.

    Someone tried to charge something to my one credit credit so I needed a new one.  That was my second stop.  Very nice young man helped me.  When my card was ready he walked me to the front door & held it open.  

    Inside the bank is some awesome created furniture made by a local artist.  Cannot sit on it.  I am related to his mother.

    When I got home it was nap time. And had a good nap.  Then I felt better.

    Great weather last night & today.  Had rain overnight.  I got 0.93".  Very nice.  Today stayed cloudy & 73F all day.  Perfect.  Tomorrow will suck again.  Up to almost 100F.  And all next week.  I dread it. Hate heat & summers.  Will stay inside all I can.

    Talked with KN today.  Thanked him for mowing my yard & drive way.  We have a mutual friend who has lost half of his leg.  He is diabetic.  He got his first version of his new leg yesterday.  Hoping he does well with it.

06/2025 - Jueves the 26th- JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Lea, Rakel

    Had a good day considering I had little sleep last night.  And no nap today.

    Had lunch with 2 friends at Pizza Hut.  I just had french fries.  I had a small breakfast mid morning.  Had a good visit  but I know I always talk too much.  Probably because I see people so rarely.  I am always sorry.  And we got a cool printer gift from the one friend's husband.  Fun!!

    I ordered groceries last night.  Picked them up around 2pm.  Got all but one thing.  Lots of things I never get since I am clueless.  Got my favorite potato salad.  And several different lunch meats.  Change is good.  Tired of the same ole same ole.  Need to do this all the time.

    Got a text from MM that he needed to see me.  Just as I parked at his house, there was a loud clap of thunder then heavy rain.  My grandpuppy was outside & hates storms.  Name is Gracie.  She curled up next to me & almost on my lap.  Got a nice photo or two.  And lots of love.

    I looked at my radar on my phone.  That tiny storm was the tiniest cloud just over part of Lindsborg.  Did not last long!  But Gracie still needed to cuddle!!

    I helped MM run an errand.  And we talked about his future plans.  We have one future plan that is even fun.  Great.  Something different.

    Got home & had a snack.  Now my blog.  Rain later.  Hope I sleep tonight.  Tomorrow is my extra long day ---- Swedish Friendship Group, lunch with LL, SVAFC, ----  no supper out.  Will be too tired. 

    Heat is arriving.  At least 100F or more.  Then a cooler front comes.

02/2025 Torsdag the 06th - Wandering & Capturing Moments

Today Name Day:  Dorotea

    Had a good day.  Nice.  Slept good with little pain. Up & dressed early in preparation for lunch out.

    Went to Crown & Rye to meet 3 friends for lunch.  I am thrilled that these friends are including me to join them for lunches.  One is someone I used to work with, someone I do not know well, & my former boss at the Red Barn.  I enjoyed it.  Great conversation.  I ordered Swedish Pancakes.  They were so good even though they do not serve them as I am used to.  Dad & I always had ours with butter & sugar.  I can manage to do that eating out with JR but with new people I simply had syrup & lingonberries.

    I stopped at one bank to deposit my pasture rent check.  Then home.  Cats were both napping & soon so was I!

    It was a bit warmer today.  Did not need my coat.  But next week is another story.  Super cold temps, snow that might cause some trouble driving.  Two separate snow times.  OK with me.  I love winter & snow.

    Cinder was napping in the living room while I napped.  When I woke up she moved to my. lap.  She is a great cuddler.  Kisse usually cuddles next to my lap.

    My photos are snowy photos from Lindsborg from a few years ago.  The last two photos are from a pasture on the way to Hutchinson.  It looks a bit different now.  They have added some old tractors near the chapel.  Next time I go I will stop for new photos.
