Today's Name Day: Gunda, Gunnar

    We got our blizzard!!!  Snow started middle of the night.  High winds started a bit earlier.  Winds in western Kansas was worse than here.  Still bad though.  Got  drifts around my house & in my  driveway.  Nephew cannot clear my drive today.  Maybe tomorrow.  In this weather cattle are a lot of work.  Not sure how much snow we got here.  Maybe 6-8 inches.  Depends where you look.  Western Kansas got 12 inches in places.

    Roads were awful,  ALL roads ended up closed.  On the interstate roads they have gates to close the on ramps.  But there are stupid people who will search out back roads to take.  But if they get stuck, no one comes to find them.  Back roads here were all drifted shut.  Most still shut or very dangerous to drive on today,  People just think they HAVE to go somewhere.  Nothing is so important.  My evergreen trees are bending over with heavy snow,

    Yesterday Cinder kept crying & wanting out.  I would let her out & I would stay in.  But when the snow started I stayed out with her.  She did not potty.  Went down the east steps & sat & looked around.  Looking for something.  Then back on the porch & over to the west steps.  She looked & looked.  Then she came back inside with me.  Back in to cry.  Figured out she is looking Nico.  I am sure she misses him.  I quit letting her out & went to bed.  She slept with me most of the night  She made me cry more than once during the night

    I did mostly nothing today,  I did get dressed..  And I washed my hair.  I feel better.

    MM is in Iowa & they are starting to get our snow.  They are not working today & probably not tomorrow either.

    Photos are from my yard.  Got an email from the trash men, no pick up today.  I knew that.  Hahaha!!

National Winter Skin Relief Day 

Todays Name Day is Barbara, Barbro

    We are in a severe blizzard warning.  Not been much action but snow is now starting to fall.  Severe conditions in western Kansas ---  no electricity, heavy snow, white out conditions, roads closed.  From Salina there are no roads going to Colorado.  Partly condition & partly there are no hotel rooms to rent.  We are now in the up to 12 inches of snow forecast!  Have not seen that kind of snow in years.  Many years.  The officials started saying to avoid Kansas all together.  Take a different route.

    I have been in blizzards before but Willie was here then.  Now I feel so alone.  And I admit I feel a bit scared.  Would feel better if there was family here to help if I need help.  I hate to bother my nephew.  He will have his hands full with his cattle.

    I did nothing today.  Had minutes to write & mail out. That was it.  Cinder has been in & out many times.  Wonder if she is looking for Nico.  Hard to know.

    My nephew did say he would be over to dig me out tomorrow.  Probably not needed & I park close to the front door.  Grandson MM gave me orders that if I need anything to let him know.  He will call a good friend of his & have him come out here.  Helps me feel not so helpless.

    Been texting with my friend LL.  She might have a day off tomorrow.  Doubt there is a need for the Mill to be open.
