National Mutt Day

Both of these 2 dogs of ours are "mutts".  Or mixed breed dogs.  We loved them lots.

Today's Name Day: Elin, Helena

    What a day!!!  Not at all what I expected.  Ended up ok but getting there was interesting.

    Today was a work day.  I started on folder "E" and I finished it by quitting time!!! YAY!!!  Folder ""F" on friday!

    But during the day we had visitors that reported a swarm of bees in one of our trees.  Called a known bee keeper & he came to check them out.  And then he removed them. I have photos to share at the end of my blog.

    While working someone got royally upset with me on Lindsborg Now.  I explained I was at work  had not thoroughly read the offending post & he was right that it was offensive.  I apologised. I removed it & gave the person who posted it a warning that the next time I would ban them.  Not a good way to settle a problem.  There is always something or someone.  The person who texted me thanked me so all is well there.

    Supper was Mexican & snow cone for dessert.  About halfway done with our cones, the severe weather hit.  YIKES!!!  The wind came in & scared me a lot!!!  I have been in a tornado before that almost destroyed our home.  We had to run for cover.  I got injured.  The trees bent over.  The air was full of lots of dirt & leaves & sticks & got knows what swirling around.  The car rocked!!  That was awful.  I kept quiet.

    When we left a fire truck was going out of town.  We thought to the south but the fire is east of town.  Maybe they were going to arrive at the fire in a different dirrection.  Someone wrote it was a huge fire.  With this wind that is really scary.

    I drove by the Old Mill to check on our Swedish Pavilion that is structurely unsound.  When I left town is was standing with nothing blowing off of it.  We are raising money to repair it.  At almost half there.  But we worry.  I called my boss to report to her.

    I drove home & it was fairly quiet.  No signs of rain or branches down.  Got home & Cinder headed outside.  BUT.  I did not hear the rain start. When I did I checked on Cinder.  It is pouring down!!!  She was hiding on the porch.  I had to move all sorts of stuff around to open a path for her to the door.  All the while I got soaked!!!  Water got on my scalp & ran down my face.  Lovely.  Need to shut the AC down.  It is 66F outside & after being 100 earlier.  Have to grab my second blanket when I go to bed.  Good sleeping!!

    That is all the excitement I have to share.  That is enough!!!

This is the bee keeper.  He would brush bees into the box & take them away.  By the time he got back those that flew away were back.  Repeated this 3-4 times.  Lucky to have him.

Sheltering in Place, Mood Of Silence, Day 376....

I slept pretty well last night. Still took a nap. Now feeling good.

JR and I ate at Jalisco's. A much quieter day for them. Never saw MA ran one!

Weather was nice. Warm, no wind. Tomorrow will have very strong winds then we are in a fire watch. Great!

Soccer today. US first. We lost 2-1. Mexico now. Halftime, no score but one fight. Playing in Jalisco Mexico. Very hot there today. It is 90.

When I came home from town around 1pm. I saw friends starting a controlled fire. Good day for it. jUst outside now. The fire has burned up the large hill and is on my side. Very pretty in the night. Nephew said it will burn all night. Hope the wind stays quiet. Wish I had a good night time camera. I have one app for darkness. It was ok. While pretty, it does not smell good! And our herd of cattle are all here by the fence near my house. In my flashlight I see hundreds eye looking my way. They are eating.

Sheltering in Place, Mood Of Silence, Day 207....

 Busy afternoon. JR2 texted and wanted to meet for coffee. My tummy is ok today so we met at the Peacock. Had a nice visit. I am going to miss her when she moves more than words can say. Will enjoy her while she is here.

Then JR and I had supper at Jalisco's. They were busy plus they had a huge, huge take out order. DV carried out gallons of salsa, enchiladas, tacos, chips, queso, and more. I have never heard JS say "I am sorry" so many times! I never heard people inside complain but I heard there were some who complained outside of the restaurant. Like the world swirls around just for them. Try to be understanding. Should have given me the phone!! But we were well taken care of even though JS said he was sorry to us too.

A little warm today. I saw 88F. But tonight it is much nicer. We have little humidity so that helps it feel better. Two more hot days, so they say. I will hold them to it!!!

My cousin and I in Colby Kansas. He is from New Zealand and is part Swedish and part Maori. A rugby player and coach.

Newspaper article about losing our house to a fire. Man to the right is my husband. That one event changed our lives forever. Nothing was ever ok again.

Me and my Siamese cat. I loved him so much. But I was the only who loved him. He had a horrible end of life. And I was lied to about it. Really hurts a child when that happens. But my life was mostly like that.

        

Quarantine Day 50!!

Quiet and nice weather. Fourth inch of rain.

Nothing else. Been in quarantine for 50 frickin' days. 50.

Quarantine Day 49

A fairly good day! For a change! 

My brother and I had our usual sunday lunch at Jalisco's. Good food! Business seemed a little slow today. Maybe better when we were not there.

After eating I stopped to see my bestie at work. He is working today but not tomorrow. Nice to have a visit. I truly miss seeing him. He might even feel the same.

Went home and the remains of the barn was burning. Several trees had been removed too.

My niece and grand niece were there and we visited for a long time. A fun visit!  My grand nephew was driving his own  ATV and moving tree branches to a pile.

Took a short nap and leftovers for supper.

Forced myself to wash my hair. I had slept wrong there was a horrid bald spot that nothing could fix. I looked awful in town.

Maybe rain tomorrow. Maybe.

Quarantine Day 3

Day 3 home alone. In a better mood today. I am glad. Last night was not good. Seemed to be awake most of the night. But I have no where to go and nothing important to do. Can sleep anytime.

My favorite restaurant Jalisco Mexican Restaurant has now closed. Only call in orders. I can do that. I worry about my friend who works there. I can help friends if needed. That is what friends are for.

Thirty two years ago tonight our house burned down. Caused by our wood burning stove. Lost a lot. A horrible time. Many of my husband's friends were great help. No way we could ever thank them. Other friends ignored it all. My best friend sent a funny card. Not a funny time. Glad our friendship ended a few ears ago. Things were never ever the same after that night. Was also my mother-in-law's birthday. She was already dead by then. Today she would have been 104 yrs old. Wow.

Nico was busy tonight and I got to eat 3 entire cookies and he never knew. That never happens. I was a glutton and never offered to share!!

I took a few photos of wild flowers in my yard. Did not like the app I used. Change app tomorrow and get more color.

Last night we had drizzle most of the night. And very late we had wind, drizzle, and fog. Storms forecast late tonight. Time will tell.

TV sucks. Shows I do not like or reruns. I am on Acorn TV. It saves my evenings.

I have mostly left FB. Someone got a bit snippy with me on something I posted so will take a break. I read things but no more comment on political things or share them. Others can do that. I occasionally like things some friends post. I never have any thing clever to share or say so no loss. Might change later.

No wise words tonight. Except to those kids on beaches and those who do not stay home are exposing many people to Covid 19. I do what I can. Those kids are just selfish. Sad.

The only wise words I hear are the very loud frogs. Happy for warm temps the coming rain.
