06/2025 - Viernes the 13th - JOURNEY

 

The pool is open.  Decided to take a photo or two.  The kids noticed so they were laughing & posing.  One boy yelled at me "Hi Grandma!"

Today's Name Day:  Aina, Aino

    The last week finally caught up with me.  Started the day with lunch with LL at the White Peacock,  They were not too busy.  Got to chat with MH also.

    Then on to the Old Mill to work.  A local lady had some photos she brought in but wanted back.  I scanned them first.  She had some cool old Hyllningsfest photos.  Hyllningsfest means tribute party according to the translator.

    After those on to the real photos.  Boring today.  Pictures of little kids & no names.  Gonna be a long time.  There are dozens of photos of houses.  Must have been for sale back in the day.

    I was beyond tired.  The time seemed to drag.  FINALLY 430 arrived & I left.

    On the way home a song hit me far too hard.  Wow.  So unexpected.  Will not say what song or anything.  The real me is only seen in my diary app.  And it is not for anyone but me.  No one needs to know the real me.  It was still hitting me hard when I climbed into bed for a nap.  Both cats suddenly appeared.  Sure needed them.

    Hot again.  Maybe harvest today.  Don't know.  Rain is forecast for some places in Kansas.

06/2025 - Jueves the 12th - JOURNEY

Today's Name Day:  Eskil

    I knew someone really special.  Eskil Hemberg.  He was a swedish composer.  Was here in town at the college.  And I got to go on a bus tour with him.  He chose to sit with me instead of letting me sit alone.  He died in 2004.  When I was in Sweden in 2000 he had me call him.  Nice to have talked to him before he died.

    What a busy day!!!  I am exhausted.  But had more fun than I can remember.  Wow!!!

    Started with lunch at the White Peacock with my thursday eating group. Then later they wrote me to tell me I can pick where next week to eat.  Wow!!!  Fun!!!

    I went across the street to the Öl Stuga to see MM.  Got there but MM called in sick. I did not want to drive home so I just stayed.  MM had texted me but I had not seen it.  The bartender was CW who I really did not know.  ZR was in the back slicing meat.  CW fixed me a spiced rum & coke.  I just stayed there rather than drive home.  CW was nice so we had a great visit.  They were a bit slow today.  I was there for around 3 hours.  Two local guys sitting at the bar wished me a good rest of the day.  Not used to that.  Nice of them.

    Next picked up JR to get a table at Jalisco's for a birthday celebration.  Friends of ours the husband had the birthday.  He knew we were all eating together but not for his birthday.  We talked & laughed.  What fun.  JR & him were in school together. The wife used to work at Dillard's in an office.  When they would get a new perfume she would send me a note in the mail sprayed with the new perfume.  When Willie would get the mail & it would smell good he would come in the house frowning.  He knew there was going to be money being spent!!!   By me!!!  What a fun meal!!  The help all sang to him.  I need more days like this.

    Had many texts from MM.  Did miss seeing him.  My allergies sound like his cold.  We are a good pair.

    Cats missed me.  As usual. Not gone as long tomorrow.  No supper out.  Get back to my bbq beef.

    When I went to town around 11am.  It was raining all the way there.  Could not drive without wipers on.  Stopped harvest.  Dang.  Hope they can work on saturday so I can maybe go take some photos.

06/2025 - Miércoles the 11th - JOURNEY

 

Havest is in full swing.  None of my photos are new.  All old ones with Willie in them.

Today's Name Day:  Berthold, Bertil

I have had numerous cousins in the past & yet today named both Berthold & Bertil. Very cool.

    Today was a good day.  Slept good.  Had lunch at Jalisco's with MM.  I had a burger & fries.  Enjoyed my company with MM.  And I helped him as I could.  Nice meal.  And always glad to help him & his kids.

    Next on my list of stuff for today was going to The Old Mill.  I finished a stack of photos.  They numbered at 121.  Glad I am done with them.  I grabbed another handful, got them sorted by size, got some place to stash them, and added a place to save them to.  Don't look too exciting.  Lots of house photos.  Must have been for sale at one time.

    Finally supper was back at Jalisco's. This time I had Mexican food.  Flautas for me.  The cook got it right.  Both were carne.  Not one carne & one pollo.  And had nueve con chocolate.  (ice cream with chocolate)

    Took JR home then took some flower photos in town,

    It is official -- harvest has started.  I heard from KN.  He answered me & also told me where to drive my combine.  hahahaha!!!  He does not have enough insurance for me to drive equipment.  Willie never did either.  He apologised but I said I will try try my best & supply him with lots of beer to keep him happy!!   Said that will work.

    I also sent some Willie memory photos to his best friend DD.  He loved them.  I will add them on at the end of the photos.  He sent me a text from his combine cutting wheat.  Loved it.  Good luck to all!!

    Now blogging & need something to drink.  Thirsty.  Finish blog first.

Last 3 photos are ones I sent to Willie's best friend DD.  He was glad to see memories of fun times.  Me too.

He & DD had a combine we entered in demolition derbys.  All the other combines were all fancy.  Not ours.  BUT.  We went to the state fair & won the grand prize!!!   HA!!!  Take that all you fancy combines!!!  What an awesome day!!!

This is my great nephew Colton & Willie's best friend Dave at Willie's grave.  I think the newest beer can might be from Dave.  I hope so.  These photos make me cry.

    

06/2025 - Martes the 10th - JOURNEY

Today's Name Day:  Boris, Svante

    Had a good day.  Slept ok.  No nap.  Had a 330pm appointment for a hair cut.  I changed it up a bit.  See how it turns out when I wash & style it.  Like it so far. Here is me with new hair in a cuddle with Cinder.

    Then home for supper.  I bought Hickory Hut bbq beef & baked beans.  I deserved a nice meal.

    After fixing my makeup I had a board meeting to attend.  I could have missed it.  None of it had anything to do with me.  No problem.

    I saw 94F in my car this afternoon. The next week is more of the same.

    The weather was weird tonight.  Our weatherman has a dog.  Wish I had been listening better.  His sweet dog was there but he was missing.  Maybe he got ill and could not leave before the weather was on.

    Car was on fumes.  The price of fuel has actually gotten less.  How did that happen.

    Long conversation with CF last night.  He is doing so well.  Proud of him.  MM asked me to go to supper tonight.  Too late.  I had already eaten.  Will see him tomorrow. Meeting for lunch.  Warned LL I might be late to work.  Need to talk.

    Found flowers in my drive way & some near my yard.  Got photos of them all.  Fun!!

    Work tomorrow.  Love being there.  Will not try to work this saturday.  Will be too many Kubb players there for our Midsommarsdag celebration.  Too many cars.  I know nothing about the game except how to pronounce it.  So no working at the SVAFC this week.

    Harvest may start tomorrow.  KN is going to try.  I told him I want to take a few photos this year.  I miss doing that.  I have shared old photos with KN & CN.  I am excited.
