Bastille Day in Paris

Today's Name Day:  Folke

    Another day I to cancelle.  I had hoped to eat supper out but it will wait.  RA & my stomach rules my life today.  I did sleep good though.  My glucos sensor was pretty quiet.

    Hot again with a teaser forecast of maybe rain this afternoon.  No clouds at all.  Just heat & humidity.  😞

    Had a text from CF.  Nice to hear from him.  Glad he is doing well,

    Before supper I had a video call from JS.  Nice to see & hear him.  And he paid me couple of nice compliments.  I end every day with a post on my private diary about what I an grateful for.  They will certainly make my list.

    I got a photo of Kisse's new hideout.  She only sleeps there now.  She is hidden.  But she can watch me all night.

    Hoping tomorrow is better.  Need a few groceries after supper.  Pictures tonight are a mix.

My best friend John who was born on Bastille Day.  He was in France years ago on Bastille Day & he was very sure the fireworks were for his birthday!!!

I wish I had had someone who was a protector for me when I was a child.  I had no one who protected me .  I hope I treat others better than I got treated & protected.

My kids.  I think of Nico daily & still miss him a lot.  He was so close to both cats.

07/2025 - Miércoles the 02nd - JOURNEY

 

Harvest is over.  I never knew where they were & got no photos.  All my photos are old ones.  Make me miss Willie even more.  💔 😞

Today's Name Day:  Rosa, Rosita

I have known several Rosas.  Close to none.

    Another day at home alone.  Little communication.  I was awake most of last night.  Gets old.  Finally health issues calmed down & I got some sleep.  I had a short nap after lunch.

    With getting little sleep last night I was glad I had not planned to work.  Would not have survived.  Snoring at my desk is not something I want to do!!  😰

    Trash day is next week, Unable to carry out sacks of trash today,  Sometime soon.  Or at least I hope I am able to.  No one else to help.  Given up asking. 😥

    Had a short message from CF.  He always asks how I am doing.  Others never ask.  So I rarely share with those I assume do not care..  Also a short text fro AN.  Harvest is over. 🚜

    Sat outside for a while.  Nice breeze.  Had mail to open & sort & carry inside,

Have a good friend named Rodger who is an arist.  Picture in my blog.

    My day was ok.  Supposed to have lunch with MM but he is sick.  Probably from the Canadian smoke.  I am not sick but have sneezed for the last 2 days.

    I was already to Jalisco's when I learned MM would not meet me.  I ate a nice quiet lunch of my burrito & horchata.  MA & his family were eating lunch together since I was the only customer.  Had a nice visit with MA & TA.

    At home I worked at further organizing my iPad.  It is much better.

    I ended the afternoon with a short nap.

    Hot again today.  Almost 90F.  High tomorrow is 68F.  Storms are west of me.  See if I can get some rain or if Assaria will get it all as usual.  We are in a warning now for around 10pm.

    I even managed to take 3 bags of trash out to the bins.  They did not smell well.  Much better without them.  Kinda breezy ourside.

    A while back The Old Mill had a silent auction.  Not everything got sold. There was a John Presley carving of a boxer.  I bought him.  I finally got photos of him to share.  I just noticed he has a hole in his shoe with a bloody toe!!!

    I am shocked.  My iPhone & my laptop synched perfectly today.

    The last couple of days were difficult for me.  Being rejected by people I care for hurts,  I was truly suprised this afternoon when I posted the last 2 days  were a bit difficult for me.  Someone I have known forever but recently added him as a friend answered me with an offer of help.  I am so surprised.  Made my day.  Truly!!

Several years ago there was a fire in the pasture south of my house. Very very close to me.  Sat on my porch & watched the firemen fight it,

Oh, to be there with my Swedish family.  Nothing but the dreams of fools.......

This was the favorite hang out when I was in high school.  It was in Salina KS.  We would start there then drive north on Santa Fe to almost the train tracks then back to Sandy's.  And start again.

My two favorite artists,  The first is Rodger Gerberding.  Second is Mike Hartung.  I work for him at the SVAFC most fridays.

This is so cool. Bought it in Utah when on a long bus trip.

05/2025 Fredag the 30th - Wandering & Capturing Moments

 

Large fire in Canada that is affecting Kansas.  The smoke has made it here.  The sky in the west today was quite hazy.  It will bother my breathing for sure.  Photo is an actual photo of the smoke.

Today's Name Day:  Vera, Veronika

    What a busy day!!!  I took an anxiety pill to help me sleep last night.  Worked great!  I had to get up extra early  ----  around 8am.  Went to my Swedish Friendship Group.  I was president for 11 years of it.  Once I stepped down, I quit going.  Too many changes.  Still are but I am better at ignoring them.  One change they made I completely ignore & do not participate.

    I was soo surprised how many members greeted me.  I was really surprised.  One lady who treated me like we were best friends but I was clueless who she is.   THEN I figured it out.  A good friend's sister that I really do not know.  Told her we need to eat out some time!  She agreed.

    Today the program was the new college president.  She seems very good.  Hope she is.

    LL & I had lunch at the White Peacock.  I had biscuits & gravy.  Love them!!

    Then MH unlocked the door for me at the SVAFC.  Good to have a new show.  All art is done by local people.  Great show.  I got all my photos taken of it all.  Had a fair amount of visitors.  The boss was there a long time too.  I had no time to get tired.'

    After work I stopped at Pizza Hut to get a sallad to take home for supper.  Perfect meal.  I love it.

    Too hot today. Over 80.  And I got everything done I needed to before leaving this morning  -----  except turning the AC on.  Big error.  House was 80 inside.  Poor cats!!!  Down to 76 now.  We all are happy.

    Last night I got to looking at an album of old, old family photos.  If I could go back.  How I miss those lovely people.

    Work again tomorrow.  Gives LL & I time to chat girl talk.  AP always has saturday off.  Or business talk!  I look forward to it.
