05/2025 Torsdag the 29th - Wandering & Capturing Moments

 

Rain for a couple of days.  I got 0.88".  Nice.

Today's Name Day:  Jeanette, Yvonne
 I have a good friend Jeanette, an aunt Jeanette, knew a Yvonne & another one who went by Vonnie.

    Today was a great day.  Did not sleep well, but survived.  Less pain which is good.

    I had lunch with 3 friends at the Öl Stuga.  I was the first one there.  MM was cooking.  ZR was the waiter.  He asked what I wanted to drink.  I told him a coke & if a bit of rum happened to be added to it I would like it.  Nice to have a rum & coke for lunch.  No one even questioned why I had a glass glass instead of a paper glass.  I am entitled to a nice cocktail when I want to enjoy one.

    The one friend's husband has a printer that can print plastic things.  Today we each got a little lizard like thing.  So cute!!  Here is mine.  He is really tiny!!

    After visiting I drove home for a nice nap.  I needed one.  At the end of my nap I had long phone call with KN.  I still own a bit of pasture that had a pond on it.  The pond has gone dry so KN  wants to drill a water well.  I offered to pay but he said he would take it out of my pasture rent payment.

    When I got home after lunch there was a large group of cattle close to my driveway.  The llamas were with them.  When they spotted my car, their heads jerked erect, & they ran to see me!!  How cool.  One was close enough to the fence his head was almost was in my car.  Very cool.  They get sheared on  sunday so they will look different.  Nice that. they know my car!  And me!!

    Supper was with JR & MM at Jalisco's.  MM had just got done working & the kids are in Wichita.  Then he went home to cuddle with Gracie, my grandpuppy.  She had been alone all day.

    JR & I had snowcones for dessert.  Too good for words.  I hate not to give the business to Jalisco's but I am sorry!  MA knows.

    My back started hurting during supper.  Still hurts.  I tried some pain killing cream but not much help.

04/2025 Onsdag the 30th - Wandering & Capturing Moments

 

Today's Name Day:  Mariana

    Not a bad day.  Sleep was so-so.  Awake too often.  A bit less pain.  But with the weather that won't last.

    I was up early to get ready to travel to Hutchinson KS to see my diabetic doctor.  Luckily I saw his PA.  I like her.  She is thorough & listens to what I say.

    Had a good trip there.  Little traffic.  She found no reason why my sugars are unstable and no reason why they go from super high to super low.  She is ordering me a wearable continuous glucose monitor.  I can wear it for 14 days on either my arm or stomach.  I am worried about applying it but she says it is easy.  It comes with its own monitor you carry with you.  It will warn me if I am going low,  Great!!  They come from somewhere away from here & they will mail them to me,  So I await them to call.  Better than sticking my fingers,

    I skipped supper out tonight.  I would have had over an hour to kill time.  I was too tired so decided to eat out tomorrow. Came home & took a nap with my cats.

    I woke up before my alarm.  Again I was shaky & sweaty,  Hard to move & do anything.  Super low blood sugar.  It said 38.  Scary low.  Damn.  I managed to check my reading & get my glucose tabs.  Luckily I texted MM & he kept checking on me to make sure I was ok,  I knew he would.  That is why I texted him.

    Coming home from Hutch I could see rain towards home.  It sprinkled in Lindsborg.  I had photos to take at the Old Mill.  New stuff outside!!  Then from Coronado Heights to home it rained pretty hard.  Big drops.  And when I woke up from my nap it was raining again.  Did not get much but sure nice to see & smell.

    Right now I can see Larry & Coco ---- llamas ---- out my window.  Not seen them for a couple of days.  Should have went out with my phone.

    Today in Sweden it is Walpurgis Night.  And in other countries also.  It is a big celebration with drinking, food, & giant bonfires.  Read about it here.

04/2025 FRedag the 25th - Wandering & Capturing Moments

 

Today's Name Day:  Markus

I have known severall Marks.

    Had a good day.  Day stayed cool & cloudy.  No rain.  I was a bit chilly at work.  Needed a heavier sweater.  Will tomorrow this weekend also.

    Had lunch at the White Peacock with LL.  Had biscuits & gravy with an Italian soda vanilla flavor.  Perfect lunch.  Love being there.  Will miss it next week.

    I am working on photos from the Lindsborg News Record.  There are so many photos crammed in the box of them.  I will still be working on this box at Christmas!!

    Most of the photos are of people.  LL went through many of them but neither of us know most of them  Easy for me & fast because it is less work.  And now I am into larger photos that scan faster.

    Today was my last day at the Mill for over a week.  I miss one day next week due to a doctor's appointment.  Then next friday is the Millfest so there is no parking anywhere close for me.  I am already missing being there!!!

    Supper was at Jalisco's again.  Like to be loyal to friends.  Last night I had ice cream with chocolate on it. My blood sugar went sky high.  So tonight just plain ice cream & my blood sugar went low.  I did not feel it though.  Who knows why??

    Slept poorly last night so I was tired.  Took a short nap.  Feel better now.

    When I got home Larry & Coco greeted me our llamas.  I love when they are here & close.
