6/2026 - Thursday the 11th - MY JOURNEY

 

I stayed in Järvsö with family when I was in Sweden.  Awesome area.  A different family took me over the wonderful bridge & a short tour of Danmark.

Today's Name Day:  Bertil , Berthold

I had one relative with the first name of Bertil.  He passed away in the last couple of years.  And another relative had a middle name of Berthold.  A generation ago or so.  Good Swedish names.

    Today turned out to be a good day.  Last night was an ok night.  Kisse slept with me for several hours.  Cinder was nearby.  And would walk over to check on me often.

    Best thing about last night was we got no storms.  Two near counties had bad weather & a county east of Salina had bad weather.  Sorry for them.  Thrilled for us.

    Daisy had no where to hide.  I went out to feed her at bed time & there was another cat up eating.  It ran away.  I know which one it is.  Attractive cat.  Think maybe a female but not sure.

    Ate lunch at the Öl Stuga today.  There was to be 3 of us but one did not make it.  We had a really nice waiter.  I know no one there anymore.

    After lunch I had time to kill.  Picked up groceries at 3pm.  What awesome foods I ordered.  Great stuff I had not seen in a year or so.  Good I order my own. And get what I like.  And get money back on my credit card instead of losing money all the time.  Supper will be extra good.  Buying mac & cheese that is not a tv dinner is 100% better.  I tasted it when I got home.  Great taste & cold not hot.

    Lindsborg was full of huge bunches of tree limbs wherever I drove.  The Old Mill had some minor damage on the mill itself that is being fixed.  We were lucky.  When everyone has electricity again the city will start picking up tree limbs if you have them piled by the curb.

    I took a very short nap.  While napping a friend sent out a notice to watch CH12 6pm news.  I made sure I did.  He was interviewed by the news staff at the Salina River Festival.  Cool!!!  He is performing there on stage.  Wish I was there.  Have to see him in town when he sings.  Nice guy!! Talented!  Working so hard to succeed.

    My wifi got messed up again.  I wonder if my electricity flickered or something.  And a note from Verizon that they are updating software.  So it is flackey again.

6/2026 - Monday the 1st - MY JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Gun , Gunnel

    Today was a good day.  Did not sleep the best after 3am.  But I survived.  Started my day with picking up a grocery order up at White's.  By not using my credit card I am losing lots of money from my credit card.  I get money back each month from my card by shopping at places I have added.  I saw how much I lost in May.  Too much.  No more.  And it sure helps to look at the online food list to see what I have been clueless what they have to order.  Had a great supper tonigh!!!  About time!!

    Lunch was at the Sale Barn.  MM was working as bartender today & training a new hire.  An old friend sat across the aisle from me & we had a great visit.  We eat at a lot of the same places but never close enough to have a real coversation.  We both enjoyed our lunches.  Always good to have someone who will actually listen to me & answer.  KN & some of his family came in.  I needed to talk to him about my dryer.  Something neither of us had thought about.  He will see if maybe it could work.  Save me a ton of money.  I know that no one cares how much money I have to dole out. 

    MM paid for my lunch but wrote up a ticket for $0.01 so I could tip the new hire.  Good idea!!  She got my tip then.  She seems really nice.  Need to eat there at noon more often.  Or at Pizza Hut for lunch.  See my friend who is manager.  Like him.

    I ate real food today.  No lunch meat.  Had shrimp & fries for lunch.  Fried chicken & potato salad for supper..  Supposedly chicken & potato salad are not sold in the grocery store around supper so I can never got any of them.  Cinder begged for chicken.  I let her lick my plate.  She was grateful.

    My youngest great grandson has been here all weekend.  I got photos of him.  Went home today.  He had a piano lesson.

    Went home & directly to bed.  Great nap.  Both cats slept with me in bed.  Sweet babysitters!!!

    Ordered some bamboo boxes that are in a huge box.  Got to carry it in the house & deal with it later.

    Catching up on my soaps.  Spanish comes next.  I did not get docked for missing a day.  I push myself far too hard.  Good to know.  Will do what I can.  And if I miss a day it is no big deal.

    Bad storms in far western Kansas this late afternoon.  Baseball size hail, strong winds over 70mph.  Heavy rains.  Scary video from locall weathermen.  They are not sure if these storms will keep moving east & affect my farm ---- either tonight or tomorrow.  I am home all day tomorrow.  Make sure things are all charged up this time.
    There was a huge bus in town on Saturday.  It was from Missouri.  Another one was parked near Main Street today.  Probably let all the passengers out to roam around the shops & restaurants.  Good to see!!
