7/2026 - Monday the 13th- MY JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Joel , Judit

I have 3 friends named Joel.  Have a cousin named Judy.  She is sick now & in a home.  Went to school with a Judith.  I enjoyed visiting with her at our class reunion.  Wish she lived closer.  Wonder if she would meet for lunch if I drove to see her?  Willie was in school with a Judy

    Today is rather stressful, but I am surviving.  Yesterday was my great grandson Atlas's 6th birthday.  He chose to have it at the Öl Stuga.  It was so much fun.  I saw several friends I do not get to see often.  Met friends of MM's whose names I knew & we all liked each other.  Must plan to see them again.  And a barmaid from Hamburg Germany.  She calls me Grandma!  Love it!

    The boys had lots of fun.  I had supper & so did they.  And cupcakes.  I also had a mimosa.  Nice.  I got lots of hugs.  A worker from Jalisco's came in & sat with me.  And gave me tons of hugs. While he drank lots of beer!!

    We were in the small patio & the boys & others were on the large patio also.  I just wanted to be in the shade.

    MM paid my bar tab.  I told him not to do that but it was still nice.  Saying goodbye to MM, boys, his girlfriend, & a good friend of mine.  Nice nice hugs & several "I love you's". was the best.  Must at least text him often.  And he got his band back together so I am going to see them when they open a dance for another band.  Fun.  Always wanted to see him perform!!

    My laptop is not working right.  Irritating.  Today is better.

    Doctor appointment tomorrow.  I am scared to death of the unknown.  Not telling many people.  I tried to tell someone who should care & got ignored.  Will ignore back,

    Weather stayed in the 80s today.  Hotter is coming soon.  I hate summer.  Will be 100F for me here.

    It is true that we have very few family anymore.  The family who really love me were & are in Denver.  Most are gone now.  I know dozens of local people but none are true friends.  I am rarely included in anything.  So I am lonely a lot.  But I now know how much I am loved.  And it feels damn good,

6/2026 - Thursday the 11th - MY JOURNEY

 

I stayed in Järvsö with family when I was in Sweden.  Awesome area.  A different family took me over the wonderful bridge & a short tour of Danmark.

Today's Name Day:  Bertil , Berthold

I had one relative with the first name of Bertil.  He passed away in the last couple of years.  And another relative had a middle name of Berthold.  A generation ago or so.  Good Swedish names.

    Today turned out to be a good day.  Last night was an ok night.  Kisse slept with me for several hours.  Cinder was nearby.  And would walk over to check on me often.

    Best thing about last night was we got no storms.  Two near counties had bad weather & a county east of Salina had bad weather.  Sorry for them.  Thrilled for us.

    Daisy had no where to hide.  I went out to feed her at bed time & there was another cat up eating.  It ran away.  I know which one it is.  Attractive cat.  Think maybe a female but not sure.

    Ate lunch at the Öl Stuga today.  There was to be 3 of us but one did not make it.  We had a really nice waiter.  I know no one there anymore.

    After lunch I had time to kill.  Picked up groceries at 3pm.  What awesome foods I ordered.  Great stuff I had not seen in a year or so.  Good I order my own. And get what I like.  And get money back on my credit card instead of losing money all the time.  Supper will be extra good.  Buying mac & cheese that is not a tv dinner is 100% better.  I tasted it when I got home.  Great taste & cold not hot.

    Lindsborg was full of huge bunches of tree limbs wherever I drove.  The Old Mill had some minor damage on the mill itself that is being fixed.  We were lucky.  When everyone has electricity again the city will start picking up tree limbs if you have them piled by the curb.

    I took a very short nap.  While napping a friend sent out a notice to watch CH12 6pm news.  I made sure I did.  He was interviewed by the news staff at the Salina River Festival.  Cool!!!  He is performing there on stage.  Wish I was there.  Have to see him in town when he sings.  Nice guy!! Talented!  Working so hard to succeed.

    My wifi got messed up again.  I wonder if my electricity flickered or something.  And a note from Verizon that they are updating software.  So it is flackey again.

09/2025 - Lunes the 22nd - MY JOURNEY

Today's Name Day:  Maurits, Moritz

My great grandmother had a brother Maurits who died as a young man.  He had been in the states then returned to Sweden & died.  No idea why.

    Had a good day.  Not much sleep though.  I realized that the new OS 26 something is now out so around 3am I started deleting things to clear enough so it would download.  It is as cool as they said it would be.  MM showed me something cool it will do.  Tonight I have been adding back in what I removed.  So far so good,

    I took off for Hutchinson KS for my medical clinic to pick up my insulin & ozempic.  On the way home the ditch on the east side of the highway was filled with thousands of sunflowers!!  From Hutch to McPherson.  All ditches should be so beautiful!!  Not here.  Not enough rain,

    MM was bartending today.  I stopped on the way home to see him.  I got my rum & coke without asking.  Supper was a grilled cheese with Bond Ost cheese, chips & dressing.  Bond Ost is a Swedish cheese.  I really did not know anyone there.  Just fun to people watch.

    MM is a good waiter.  Each customer is treated special with a hand on shoulder or whatever.  The former owner of the bar came in.  He had to park a long ways away.  He, like me, has trouble walking.  MM walked to the end of the block & drove his car to a closer spot.

    Rain clouds are moving in.  We are in a storm watch & flood warning.  IF my drive is ok I am going out for lunch tomorrow.  I need to do that more often.  Find other foods I want.  I am craving fried chicken  and/or a real breakfast ---- eggs, bacon, toast of biscuit, potatoes.  Might not happen this week but it will next week.  I can eat alone.  No problem.

    Things are looking up for Bethany College. Mens soccer have 3 wins, womens soccer have maybe 2 wins, & football team won last night!!!!!  Exciting times!!!  Whether I get to attend or not it is still wonderful!!

    Just watched Rachel Maddow interview Kamala Harris.  Great.  Love those two.

    Got a mosquito in my car.  Usch.  Now have on 2 stickers that repel them.  Working so far.  Need bug killing cold weather!!!

    Had a long text this morning with CW about our dogs that have died.  We both miss them.  He has his dog's ashes.  His dog's name was Willie.  Nico is buried near my bedroom window.  Nico would sit on my bed & look out the window waiting for me to come home.  Last night I had a short dream of Willie & Nico came to me like they were live.  Willie was talking.  Lots of thoughts about my granddaughter.  If she would reach out to me I would tell no one.  NO ONE!!!!!  I would just enjoy.
