The Scheme.  Very cool place.  Pizza place & bar.  Need to go there again.

Today's Name Day:  Engelbrekt

    Today. was ok.  Yesterday I only counted 4 kittens.  Today all 6 are here & Miss Kitty.  They were hungry!!!

    Cooler today.  Only in the 60s.  Nice.  Staying a bit cooler for a few days.  Wish it would last all summer.  Dreading the heat, humidity, & bugs.  And severe weather.

    Salina got hit quite hard last night.  Winds of 70+mph, huge hail, damage to homes & cars.  Big clean up today.  Glad it missed here.

    After lunch I forced myself to carry out 10 bags of trash despite having severe pain.  Some were way too heavy for me to carry.  Almost died.  After those bags I took a nap.  Cinder stayed nearby.  Kisse in the bedroom.  Planned to take more trash out when I woke up.

    Saw no cattle outside but near supper I saw the llamas out my window.  Too sore to go outside.  Maybe tomorrow.

    I was going to try to carry more bags of trash outside but decided I hurt far too much.  If I had a volunteer or two to help I might have tried but who cares.  No one offered & I refuse to beg.  Either you care or you don't.  Can do them next week.  Maybe I will feel better.

    This weekend is Mill Fest at the Old Mill.  On friday they have kids from dozens of schools visiting & seeing many displays of activities.  I cannot work that day.  No parking.  No lunch out & no work.  On saturday they turn the Old Mill on ----- loud, building totally shakes, etc.  No kids allowed in.  Too dangerous.  All the belts & gears are open to the air.  They used to make flour but quit years ago.  Too much work to clean up.  We do sell flour from a different mill.  And now our pancake mix.  Wish I could get there on saturday to just sit & listen to the musical groups we have.  But.  Again.  No parking.  Cannot walk that far to get there.  Always miss.  Always.  Maybe should hire someone to drive & pick me up when done.  Might try that.

    My left leg is killing me today.  Knee & ankle severe pain.  I put on some pain patches.  Not helping.  Trying what I use as pain med.  Hope it helps.  Not one of my doctors will give me anything for pain.  Nice of them.  Was better when I napped.

    No cats for supper.  They were awake late this afternoon.  Maybe napping under the house.  I got brave & picked up one kitten this noon.  Not a happy camper but sooo sweet!!!

Star Wars Day - May the 4th Be With You

Today's Name Day: Mona, Monika

    Had an OK day.  Slept pretty good.  Cinder stayed curled next to me.  Kisse is always close by also.  She curled on me earlier.

    We were in a severe weather watch overnight.  I watched the radar as the storm clouds moved in.  And as usual I was disappointed,  I had lightning, some very bright.  Had occasional thunder, but not loud here.  And rain,  Very light. Barely got the window wet.  Then a little more.  Then nothing.  Radar looked like rain early this morning but nothing.  Just awful.  I try not to listen to the weather forecasts.  Why bother.

    Millfest finished today with the Mill running & lots of activities for adults.  I think it all went good,  The staff is tired!!!

    Today was also a city wide yard sales.  They prepare a sheet with all the sales listed & what they are selling, it you turn your info in.  My group I run called Lindsborg Now does not accept yard sales listings,  If we let them able to post then it gets to be too many & they take over the group.  I deleted many today.  Next year I will write a long info on them.  One church group posted the same picture with info 4x!!!  Sheesh.  Once is plenty.  Nonprofit groups can post things like that, but 4 posts identical is unreal.  After they closed I deleted all I could!!

    JR & I ate Mexican tonight,  The one waiter, PR's wife & daughter are here now.  Fun to see his daughter for real.   She is a doll!  So cute!!  They do not speak English.  The owner's brother has been just bussing tables, but tonight he got to be a waiter.  His english is much better.  Good for him!

    Never got too warm today but nice.  Mid 60s.  Cinder went out at lunch time & laid out there all afternoon.  Enjoying the calm nice weather.

National Banana Day 

Today's Name Day: Elias, Elis

    I did not sleep very good last night.  I had severe hip pain since there is another front approaching.  Finally Cinder got tired of me squirming trying to find a comfortable laying position.  She left & never came back.  😩

    I was up early to get ready for work.  And eat lunch.  Cinder went out about then.  Before I went to work she came in for the day.  Makes me relax knowing she is inside.

    Work was different for me today.  The Old Mill is getting ready for a festival called Millfest. It is a 2 day affair.  On friday we have 500 kids coming to the Mill.  We have different exhibitors showing things they do ---- weaving, carving, Swedish dancing, growing grains, llamas, singing, etc.  So we have a schedule of all exhibitors & what school is with each one at what time.  It is really stressful to work on this.  We did pretty good.  Found 2 errors from yesterday.  Then when we were done we saw that several exhibitors had too many kids or no breaks.  Soooo.  Schools got moved.  But got done.  I volunteered to come in tomorrow if we did not get done, but we were finished.  What a great day it will be!!

    Then on Saturday we turn the Mill on & let it run but with no wheat.  And children are not allowed to go inside while it is on.  There is no protection from belts, wheels, etc.  Very dangerous.  We used to actually grind wheat into flour but they quit that a long time ago.  Makes a terrible mess to clean up!!!  But it would be fun to see!!  On our website there is a full video of the Mill running that you can watch.

    Picked up JR for supper & dessert at Jalisco's.  Not seen them in over a week.  I have done not much but see doctors for a week.  One more to go next week.  

    Some actual rain falling in Kansas, but no where close to me here.  It is getting desperate.  And scary.  Will we have crops this summer???  Scary dry here.

    The cold front is almost here.  Strong winds will be here soon.  Cold temps are coming also.  But any rain with it is mostly in Oklahoma not Kansas.

07 may, 2022 Wandering

    I had a quiet day.  I did not sleep much last night so I had little energy.  My mind was too busy with questions that cannot be answered.  My luck.

    Our weather was quite nice.  Not too hot or cold.  A nice breeze.  The prairie grasses were swaying in the air.  Birds where singing often.  Two turkey vultures flew over my house.  The shadows looked like airplanes!!  Nico was out and they were checking in case he was going to drop dead!!  No such luck for them.  The pond look sparkling and I had cattle near my yard.  Nico & I spent time outside today.

    Today was Millfest again.  The last day.  My brother went.  He said the tours were nonstop.  Usually 8 people per tour.  Lots of people today and many kids yesterday.  I added their advertisement so you can read what a went on.  I have never been and now that walking is so painful, I never will.  Too late for me.

    I worked so hard on my spanish tonight.  At the end you have to pass 5 tests with 40 questions & you can only miss 2.  On the third miss you are out.  I did number 4 at least 4 times.  Number 5 went good.  Once through.  Started a new lesson with new words.

    Kids were good today.  I need that.  Tomorrow is weighing heavy on me.  There is no one in my life to make me feel special.  I am truly not a mother any more.  I can imagine the conversation between my kids.  They think I have no right to set bounderies in my life for my safety.  I am sure right after their father died they started looking for wills and ways to take away from me what was mine.  And they did it in a way that scares me still.  (Need a tequila shot now!)

    Nothing special tomorrow.  I wanted a weekend away from here but not sure how to take care of Cinder.  Have to pay someone to feed and water her twice a day.  I hate to bother anyone.

    One of my photos is of rocks.  The middle one is star shaped.  "Rock Star?"  The 3 photos put together were the moon and clouds at one morning at 5am.
