11 june, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    Slept ok last night.  I have a new pain that is awful.  Took some arthritis ointment to finally stop it.  Rested this afternoon.

    I need to gather trash but will wait until tomorrow.  Ought to just get up in the middle of the night when I cannot sleep!!

    JR & I ate supper at Pizza Hut.  No pizza tonight.  He was out with a friend last night.  I had pasta & cheese bread sticks.  Yummy.  And a free cookie from our fave waiter GP.  It is beyond yummy!  Our waiter is the best.

    Two of the kitchen help from Jalisco were eating at Pizza Hut also.  I even got a hug from both!!  One was the newest waiter who is a sweet lady.  I really like her.  We sort of understand each other!!

    I got a text from my nephew KN.  He & his son had been at Willie's grave & sent me a photo.  The beer can on his grave was 4 years old, faded, & swollen.  He replaced it.  I thought it was him in the photo but it was Willie's best friend, DD.  Made me cry.  I never see any of our old friends.  Mostly because they loved Willie & sort of tolerated me.  But maybe DD was ok with me.  I know he misses Willie.  Hard to imagine running around with people for over 40 years & no kind words to me when Willie died from many of them.  There were a couple who visited the hospital & brought supper.  DD did came to say goodbye.  I have been in tears ever since I got the photo.  Memories that are bittersweet.  And the recent vandalism to his grave does not help.  It should be ok until the next holiday.  I hope.  Need a camera on the headstone.

    Yesterday morning was just sweet.  It was cool out.  I heard 2 quail.  One very close, one far away.  You only hear the single males ones.  They sit on the edge where they all roost.  They let the females know if their males dies they are there to replace them.

    Most every afternoon I see a Baltimore oriole in my yard.  Gorgeous.  Cannot get a photo but will keep trying.

    I emptied my rain gauge today.  I had 1.5" in it.  Very cool!!!

    Photos are some taken recently.  The two photos of my fur kids are how I woke up this morning.  Surrounded.  And the mural is in town.  I love it!

                        

06 march, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    Today did not go as planned.  I slept pretty good.  But had to cancell the entire day & made this a Jammie Day!  My new med went to a full dose last week.  And I am now feeling it.  Having low blood sugar with it.  Today I lowed my insulin by a unit.  And my nausea is much worse.  It was hard finding something to eat for lunch.  I thought it was enough but it was not.  Supper went better but now it is not.

    I had a chiropractor appointment today.  Changed the day this week.  Could not go with a low sugar & a queasy stomach.  

    JR was going to come here to help me gather trash & more.  I cancelled him.  I managed to gather most of what needed to go out.  I had several bags already to go but with our strong winds I dared not put them out.  If one trash bin got tipped over the raccoons would have had a hay day!!  No strong winds today so be ok until morning.

    Nico & I took a nice nap.  Cinder was in at lunch time & never saw her until supper.  She is out now for a while.  She sure likes to nap in the house in the afternoons.  Kisse always lays close to Nico & I.

    Yesterday the weather high was 75F.  Today we hit 45F.  Much cooler.  Chance of rain for the next 3 days.  Probably dry here.  And where it is really needed has little chance also.

    My photos today are a cute one of Kisse this afternoon in her box.  The rest are to the day of how the farm looked one year ago.  What a change.  The young man in one photo is my nephew.

                        

04 December, 2022 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    Not a good day or night.  I was ok while working but my sciatica pain kept increasing after I got home.  Walking became a challenge.  I had trouble sleeping since no matter what position I laid in, I still hurt.  No pain ointments made a difference.

    I cancelled lunch today.  Traipsing to the bathroom was all I was up to.  I wanted to eat out.  I felt guilty but it mattered not.  I hoped of maybe eating out tonight but I cancelled that also.

    I felt ok for the first part of my nap but then the pain got worse.  Sorry.  I am whining way too much.  Will quit.

    Cinder has been here all day.  No black cat.  I have wet cat food & I thought that Kisse did not like it.  But I am out of dry food & Kisse has been getting the wet food.  And she loves it!!  She begs for it.  I think she has gained a little weight.  When I am putting it on her plate, she even rubs my hand with her head.

    Yesterday Lindsborg had its yearly Snowflake Parade.  Very informal.  If you want to be in it just show up.  Santa is there.  I missed it this year.  It is usually cute & fun.  The street is not closed.  Get there early & park  Then watch from the back of your car.

    Stayed cold last night & today.  A bit warmer tomorrow then cool again.  Chance of rain or snow midweek  We need it so much.  And western Kansas is just plain hurting for moisture.  So sad.

    Took Nico out before supper & my nephew KN was watering his bulls.  We got to chat a bit.  Nice to see him.  He stood my trash bins up that had been scattered in the high winds.  Glad there was no trash in them.  What a mess.

    I did have a good supper.  Swedish meatballs over noodles with lingonberries added.  Love it!!

05 june, 2022 Wandering

    Today was anything but good.  Rain & flooding last night.  Water splashed on me walking by my AC unit.  I assume it was coming from the roof into the AC unit.  Called my nephew & he checked it out & went to town & got tar & hopefully fixed it.  But I usually have only bad luck  Sometime in the future I will have to have my carpet removed & the floor repaired.  It is always something but never something fun.

    I got next to no sleep last night.  Stormed most of the night.  Did not get a huge amount of rain though.  Storms are approaching again now.

    I did have a nice nap.  I might as well never try to sleep.  Missed going to Jalisco's today.  With my sour mood they probably do not miss me in the least.  I did tell one of them how bad things are but not a word today on how I am.  Perfecto!!  )-;

    I noticed a mushroom in my yard yesterday & today it is huge.  I took photos of it.

    My day has been spent watching fútbol.  The first match was actually in Kansas City Kansas. Cool.  Friends were there probably to celebrate their son's.  They shared videos of being there.  That match was the US & Uruguay.  Ended with no score.  Now watching Mexico & Ecuador in Chicago.  No score yet.  At least I can watch in the tv.  I miss my Wichita team.  Those days are gone.  Hope the local college has a good season.

    Have not dared to drive down my drive to see how bad it is looking.  I may be home until the rain quits.  Rain forecast all week.

    Decided I might as well blog early today.  Nothing more will happen tonight.  I hope!

    I watched a large area of rain last night.  It went from Nebraska down through Oklahoma.  When it got sort of close to here, it was mostly gone.  I finally went to sleep after that.  Then later I heard it rain.  Where did that come from???  It rained more than I imagined.  My rain gauge had 2.5" in it.  And my driveway was under water.  Looked quite deep from my porch.  I waited until after lunch then I decided it was taking its time to go down & no change in it.  I was supposed to work at the SVAFC  from 3-5pm.  I wanted to make sure they had time to find a replacement.  I took a nap and looked again.  Driveway is clear but the pasture is still full of water so I am sure water is still running under my drive.  I cannot tell if more of it was washed away.  Will check tomorrow.  If I can get out.  Missed work and Jalisco's today.

    A bit warmer today.  It is 80F right now.  And humid out.  With all the rain, of course.  The fur kids & I are all lazy.  Nico was up briefly & now asleep.  Cinder has to get up on the porch railing where I am leaning against.  Then I can rub her & she likes to touch noses with me.  Sweet girl.

    There is a couple of things I wanted to write about & have thought better of it.  Whining is ugly!!

03 june, 2022 Wandering

    So far a better day.  I had plans but decided not to do them.  Tomorrow will be fine. 

    Very nice weather.  Pleasant temps.  Not too warm nor cold.  And no wind or rain.  Yet.  Storms in eastern Colorado now that might reach the middle of Kansas by tomorrow morning.  And again sunday night again.  I have no complaints about moisture.  Been a long time with nothing.

    My nephew's wife AN texted me with photos of their kids in each a kayak on the pond by my house!  How fun!!  Need to see them when I do not have Nico with me but do have my phone.  Cool to have a photo or two!

     I slept pretty good last night just took a me awhile to fall asleep.  I took an extra long nap today.  Not tired just depressed.  Worse than normal.  Feel ok now.  No real pain today.  But with several cold fronts moving through here, that might change.  There is always something.

    Yesterday I saw 4 turkey vultures and even heard a Bobwhite quail.  I love them.  They song sounds like "bob....white'.  I read that where the quail nest, the males who have no mate sit around the edges & sing to remind the females they are there if something happens to their partner.  Sort of a sad song then.

    I have a new favorite group I belong to called Coffee & Rain.  The coolest photos.  Searched some free photos & found several about the same.  Those are my photos today.  I am not a big coffee drinker since I would have to drink alone.  But in Sweden that was almost all I drank.  Be fun to have a coffee group to be with.  I did years ago but no more.  I am ok with being just me.  Don't have a choice.

    Not a bad day but ended not so good.  Not going to write much.  Great weather. Time with JR.  Rain starts Saturday night.

    Will write a real blog tomorrow.  Having a tough time realising a couple of things.  Only important to me.
