08/2025 - Jueves the 07th - JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Denise, Dennis

Friends now with a Denise.  Very cool lady!!  My grandpa was a Dennis. Never knew him..  In school with a Dennis.

    Not up to writing much.  Sick at home today.  No need to whine.  I have rested mostly.  

    Cinder is being a brat.  Wherever Kisse loves to lay, Cinder has taken it over today.  Kisse is glaring.

    Hot today.  Saw 102F.  Glad I could stay in.  Same tomorrow.

Nico's favorite laying spot --- between my knees.  He did that his entire life.  Over or under coveres depending on the weather.

Nico's baby.  I buried it with him.  He always knew exactly where it was.  Sometime he would throw it in air & it would be lost.  Then I would have to find it.

07/2025 - Jueves the 24th - JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Kerstin, Kristina

Have known several ladies with these names.

    Poor sleep last night.  I cancelled part of my day from being tired.

    Had a small rain shower.  I got 0.09".  Not enough to write home about!  Tonight heavy rains, flooding, etc. are forecast.  One of my apps say it will start around 11pm.  There are clouds out there.  It stayed mostly cloudy today but the air was overwhelming.  I never get used to it.

    The ponds here are all full.  Look good but if I get several inches of rain my driveway could be under water part of tomorrow.  I never drive through it.  I thought years ago I could.  When the water went down there was a huge log in my drive.  Could have damaged my car driving over it.  I just do not do it.

    Saw my eye doctor today.  There was a young man in the office running errands, etc.  He came in my exam room to move the chair into the correct position.  When he talked he sounded exactly like his dad, my doctor.  Nice guy!!

    My exam went ok.  Big improvement since my lazer treatment. But still cannot see good.  Probably never will.  He chose to make no changes to my glasses.  I see sort of ok IF my glasses can stay in place properly.  No matter how many times I have my glasses adjusted it is never right for me.  Nose pads on my glasses help the best.

    When I got home I took a much needed nap.  The kids had missed me & joined in.

    I know more than one person who thinks if I am running around & doing stuff I am ok,  I am never ok.  I am always in pain.  Always.  People just cannot understand.  And assume.

    Cats aren't eating as much as usual.  Maybe the weather is affecting them in the house.  They seem normal in all other ways.

    Cinder was looking out her window.  Staring at something.  And she was making quiet little sounds.  I feel guilty not letting her outside anymore.  Has she forgotten how scared she was?  I just cannot let her out.  Too many dangerous things around here.  What scared her is probably still here.  We used to leave Nico outside all day on a super long leash, in the shade.  No way would I do that now.

    I found some microwave spaghetti on Amazon.  Heat it for one minute.  It was pretty good.  I am out of sauce so just used a tiny bit of butter, salt, & cheese.  It was ok.  Fast & easy.

    Photos are almost all flowers.  Found some new ones today.  A video from Sweden of flowers helped me add some new ones.

07/2025 - Martes the 15th- JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Ragnhild, Ragnvald

    Had a good day.  Still hard to walk but am managing.  Stomach no good so I took some meds.  They helped.

    After lunch I shampooed & styled my hair.  Looks 100% better.  After that I tried to take a nap but could not relax enough to sleep.  I gave up.

    JR & I went to supper at Pizza Hut.  I actually ate some pizza.  They were swamped with customers.  Good to see.  

    While eating one of Willie's best friends came in for pizza.  Had not seen him since long before Willie died,  We had a short but nice visit.  Great to see him.  I think he & Willie had a falling out long before he died,  I think his friend just did not realise that he was really sick ---- dementia & alcoholism.  Most of Willie's friends did not like me.  I was not a proper farm wife.  I had a life besides sitting in a tractor.  I was a city girl.  None of their business.

    Then on to get some groceries.  I just needed around 5 things.  Nothing too big.  And a newspaper.  Cinder was out of her treat meat.  She was glad when I got home & shared!!!

    Ended the evening with an ice cream sandwich from Dollar General,  Very good.

    Had several boxes from Amazon on my porch.  I dreaded dealing with them.  It is a monthly supplies.  Paper products,  chips, cookies, soaps, cat food.  Easier to deal with them on my porch than going in a store & carry then twice or more.  And with no backup I do what I can to make life easier for me.  Although MM says I should call him to help.  Bless him & love him.

    Heard from our cousin in Kentucky.  He & I had a long visit online.  Chatted about my weather & our families.  Good chat

    Heard from MM & another friend.  The friend checks on me often.  Besides MM she is almost the only one who checks daily to see if I am ok.

    Awful weather today.  I saw 99F here.  Ick.  Around 6am the humidity was 98%.  Tonight it is 30%.  No rain near us here.

    The sunset was incredible.  Will share tomorrow.  Took photos.  Look pretty good.  And it is really showing how the days are getting shorter.  I sure noticed it tonight.  😁

    Got home & what a surprise!! My yard & driveway was all mowed.  I tried to call KN but must be busy.  Looks nice.

07/2025 - Domingo the 13th- JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Joel, Judit

I am friends with a Joel now.  Have a Judy who is a cousin in KY.  Best friend in high school was Judy.

    Had a nice day.  My glucose sensor woke me twice during the night but then I slept good.

    MM called me this morning with an invite to lunch today.  Very nice lunch.  Good to see him feeling better.  Nice time.  Jalisco's was really busy. I miss eating there on sunday noons.  Miss some of the sunday regulars.

    Took a nap after lunch.  Nice.  And again my glucose sensor woke me again but it was near my alarm time.

    Got up & did my spanish lesson.  It was awful.  I really struggled today.  Miserable.

    Supper was ok.  So far no beeping sensor.  Good.  Nice for a change.

    The weather sucked today,  My house never got very cool.  In the 90s today.  No rain here.  We had one measely cooler day and the next few days are hot.  Typical Kansas July.  I hate it.  Every day is a day closer to autumn.

    No flowers to photograph.  Need to drive the back roads and see if I can find any.  But I have lots of old ones.

    I have a little less pain today.  Makes life better.

    Cinder has been extra snuggly today.  I like that.  Kisse is not quite as snuggly but she hangs close.  Both are sleeping now.  Again.
