002/2025 Torsdag the 27th - Wandering & Capturing Moments

 

Today's Name Day:  Lage

    Today is a day of rest.  No plans.  Do have more trash to gather & take out.  If my back quits hurting.  Unsettled weather is playing havoc with my back.  Hurt everytime I got up during the night & this morning, 

    The morning started good with 2 special photos.  Love them.  I took the one of the llamas & the other one I just saved.  It is MM & his son AM.

    Stayed sort cool overnight & right now it is 65F here.  Feels ok when outside.  Maybe sit outside later.  Hope the llamas come back then.  They seem to like to eat near my house.

    Might take a short nap or at least rest.  Might help my back.  I hope.  See if my pain pills help too.

    Rain is forecast for sunday.  Maybe even thunder.  Would love that!!

002/2025 Tisdag the 25h - Wandering & Capturing Moments

 

Today's Name Day:  Sigvard, Sivert

    Much better day.  Feelingi normal today.  And slept well.  Temp was a little chilly during the night but cooler today.  Sort of hazy & the house got to 76F but with no strong sun it felt better,  A front is here now,   Must be weak because I am not hurting like usual. New front tomorrow.

    I did sit outside for a while a bit ago.  Had mail to go through.  Then I noticed the llamas were near me.  One was standing in a low spot so no photo.  But the other one I got a shot of.  There was a cow with them.  No other cows.  Maybe she is going to have a calf soon.  Have to watch.

    Got photos of MM & AM.  MM was sick on the same days I was.  Maybe caught something when we had lunch the other day.  And had an email from a good friend.

    Have the news on.  I am grateful for even tiny bits of good news from the government.  Still lots of bad news too.  As usual.

    Excited for work tomorrow.  I might finish the book I am working on.  The first part is all photos.  Last part has lots of letters etc.  Don't make copies of thing like that.  Chance of rain.  Good.  I always dress warm as the basement is always cold for me.

    Had a short video chat with JS.  Just checking to make sure he was ok.  Good to see & hear him.

    Cats quiet today.  Cinder stayed with me this morning until I got up.

002/2025 Måndag the 24th - Wandering & Capturing Moments

 

Today's Name Day:  Mats, Mattias

Love these names.  They are forms of Matthys.  Have a dear friend with that name.  He lives in South Africa.  Miss him so much.

    Not  great day.  Slept ok but when I woke up my stomach was still sickly.  Did not feel like eating but I did.  Stayed in my jammies.  Who would care??  I am always alone so no one sees me.  Just my cats.  Actually feel some better right now.

    I did eat lunch without any trouble.  I have small cups I drink out of but today I chose a really pretty tall glass to use.  Maybe I will drink more.  And the water is still cold coming out of the tap.  Best part of winter.

    The house is way too hot!!!  It is 76F again.  Outside it is 71F.  Far too hot for now.  I just turned on the AC to see if that helps.  Back by my bedroom it says 79F.  I hate sun shining in the south windows.  At this time of year the sun is too low to the ground.  Summer it is overhead.  Makes a big difference.  Weatherman just said thunderstorms on sunday & monday.  That would be awesome!!!

    I tried to take a nap.  Kisse curled up on my stomach.  But did not stay too long.  Cinder is in the living room but sort of ignoring me.  Too hot to cuddle.  Plus has her nest just right.

    While watching my lunch tv shows Cinder managed to turn the tv power strip off.  Grrrr.  Lost part of one show I tape.  But working now.

    Had photos & lots of texting with KW today.  She & MM are no longer dating.  At least for a while.  Working out how to still see all the kids.  I got photos & video of SM blowing me a kiss & saying "I love you!"  Makes my day.  💓. I am lucky.

    Had a gas explosion in Hutchinson a couple of days ago,  Luckily no one was hurt.  Two workers had just left the building.  Think they smelled gas.  Lucky.  Areas around the blown up building are still forbidden for going to work or home.  Trying to let the gas escape & burn off.  They had an earlier explosion in 2001.  Worse than this one.

    Dang.  Now my living room is up to 77F.  No bueno!!!  😱

An island in Sweden has windmills like this.

A very old old photo of Lindsborg's Main Street.  At the far end of the street is the Bethany Lutheran Church steeple.  Wish I knew who the people were.

A grocery store from long ago.  I was almost a teenager then.  You could call your order in & go pick it up or they would deliver to your house.  Service like that is rare today.  I remember the meat guy.  All meat was freshly cut & the best ever.  He was deaf I remember.  Super nice guy.  Be fun to have that kind of meat counter now.

002/2025 Torsdag the 20th - Wandering & Capturing Moments

 

Today's Name Day:  Hulda

    Today is a much better day.  I had trouble getting to sleep but when I finally did I slept great.  Cinder helped.  No cuddling from Kisse.

    It got down to -10F last night.  Luckily the winds were light.  We could have broken an old old record but needed to get to -13F.  Close but no cigar.  

    My back door leaks lots of air.  MM showed me what to get to help.  But last night the heat would not shut off.  I finally got up & blocked the air with an old towel.  What a difference.  Then I turned the heat way down to give the heater a break.  I pulled up my weighted blanked part way to help with warmth.  Today it is set as normal & all is ok.  Temp now is 7F.  Very light winds.  Tonight will be a bit better.

    Texting with MM.  Think he is working today.  Hopefully that is me tomorrow.  I am excited to get out of the house!!!

    New soap opera starts next monday.  A preview is on now.  Cast is mostly black,  Looks pretty good.  I have watched soaps since I was a small child.  Mom would go clean her father's house as her mom died as a result of a car wreck in Colorado.  To keep me quiet she turned on the TV.  I watched the early early soaps ---- Love of Life, Edge of Night.  Her fault I am addicted.  In high school one soap got really tense.  We took turns being sick to watch.  I got to see one of the stars die.  Sooo traumatic.  Had to call everyone to tell them.  No internet then.

    Have trash to throw out,  Will wait to see if KN gets my mail & can do it for me.

    Don't get to see many cows & calves.  Too cold to go far.  Hope no births last night.
