09/2025 - Miércoles the 03rd- MY JOURNEY

Today's Name Day:  Anita, Annette, Tord, Turid

My first daughter-in-law was Anita.  She was the best.  I miss her & think of her often.  Mom had a friend Annette.  Every card she sent to people had a tatted flower in it.  Lovely.

    I did not blog last night as I was too tired.  Had a board meeting at 6pm then a program.  I stayed for it and some treats afterward.  I do not fit in most of the time but a sweet lady sat with me.  Nice not to sit alone.  I enjoyed visiting with her.  Did not get home until 9pm.  I just did my spanish lesson. Then I was done!!  💤

    Today I did nothing.  Had rain late morning.  Had water over my driveway so somewhere west of me there was more rain than I had.  The little creek that goes through our pastures doesn't even have a name.  No idea where it starts or where it ends.  There is not a large culvert in my drive so the water backs up & floods my drive.  Does not happen very often.  Did not amount of much today but I was afraid to leave & have it rain more & then I would have trouble getting home.

    The weather is playing havoc with my back.  Sure gets old.

    Yesterday MM & I had lunch out.  And he had a couple of nice gifts from me from he trip to Manhattan.  He is the beset.  He worries about me. 

    A bit warmer today.  I rested.  Cinder was near me all afternoon.  She is a blessing.  Kisse stays near me also but she is not a cuddler.  Sometimes in bed she will sniggle.

    I use a stylus on my iphone.  I have two of them.  one won't charge anymore.  The other works but not properly.  Ordered a new one.  Hard to find one that I want.  They all now have a weird end.  Don't like them.

    No plans tomorrow.  Lunch out got cancelled & JR is too busy to eat with me.  A day at home.

    What a mess our country is.  Two shootings today.  One a conservative who supports no gun laws & is now dead.  The other kids in Colorado.  And most of our government refuses to talk about what to do.

09/2025 - Martes the 08th - MY JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Alma, Hulda

    Today was a day of rest.   I slept ok until around 4am.  I had been watching the radar & a small area of rain appeared.  Not doing much so I went to sleep.  Then around 7am a loud crack of thunder woke me up!  Radar showed a big storm of heavy rain.  It proceeded to thunder loudly all day until around 630pm.   I got lots of rain.  Got 3.82".  What a miracle.  There were places near me that got around 9-10".  With flooding.  I mostly stayed inside today.  At supper time I looked out at my driveway.  It was still under water.  I maybe could drive through if I needed but not safe to try that.

    MM & I planned to eat out this noon.  But I cancelled due to my driveway.  Will try again tomorrow.  I changed my day to a Jammie Day!!!  Resting good.

    I still have aches & pains from my accident.  Both arms ache.  Nothing real bad but new pains.  Both knees hurt.  Left knee is better.  Plus I feel terror when walking around.  A little better at times.

    Emailed with JL & texted with MM.  One short photo from CF.

    House got so cold last night.  I finally turned the heat on & added another blanket.  Then we all felt better.

18 september, 2022 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    What a storm we had!!!  Severe weather was forecast here last evening.  I put Nico on his leash & we sat outside waiting to run to our tornado shelter.  But nothing happened so we went back inside.  Someone even wrote me & said they thought I was in the clear.  But no.

    Soon heavy rain & high winds started.  Suddenly something hit my front door very hard.  The door moved inwards about 3 inches & so did the wall.  I wondered if a tree hit us.  But it was the wind that caught my outside door & blew it all the way open & hit the wall.  I did manage to get it shut again.

    We lost electricity around 10pm.  Went to bed in the dark.  My first thought was of the brave linemen having to brave the storm.  I prayed they would be safe.  Around 1040pm our lights came back on.  So surprised!!!

    This morning when I went to Jalisco's I could see how deep my driveway had been under water.  Takes a lot of water to get the pond to overflow its banks, a lot.  My rain gauge said 4.25 inches of rain.  Had to be that much as deep as my drive had been.  It washed out the north edge again.  A never ending job.

    Lunch with JR.  I could not eat much after being so sick at supper last night.  I took half home.  The ice cream made my stomach feel much better.  I was so scared of getting ill in public.

    JR came home to clean up my yard.  Both trash bins tipped over & trash every where, thanks to the wind & wildlife.  But when we got to my house the bins were upright & all the trash picked up.  😊  Big surprise.  JR picked up other trash from around the house & yard.  And I brought out 3 other boxes from inside the house.

    After JR went home I called my nephew, KN.  He & his little son, CN, cleaned my yard up.  They are the best!!!

    I have made a decision to take care of my chronic diseases in my way.  Voy a hacerlo a mi manera.  I am no longer trying to explain anything.  Will just do what I need to do to survive.  I mostly am on my own with my health.  No need to for anyone to know what I do & try to explain & get sort of put down for doing it all wrong.  Voy a hacerlo a mi manera.

    If I can find a comfy way to sit or lay I will.  Then I can choose what ever activity I want.  No one needs to know what activity.

31 may, 2022 Wandering

    OMG!!! What a night!!  There was severe weather near us but kept moving away.  But finally it grew & expanded about the time I went to bed.  I cannot remember such rain!!  A few days ago I had almost 5 inches of rain but that was over 2 days.  Last night I had 4 inches within a few hours.  My bedroom window looked like there was someone on the roof with a water hose going full blast.  Just a sheet of water, no drops of rain to be seen.  Lots of lightning and thunder.  Plus on time period of strong winds.

    My nephew worked on the pond south of my driveway.  I assumed that it would no longer overflow & flood my driveway.  Was I ever wrong!!  When I left the house this afternoon I could see the drive was under lots of water at one point.  The mud shows up before getting to the area where the water flows under my drive & on the other side.  The mud showed how deep it was.  Scary.

    The road I take to Lindsborg is called Burma Road.  There were signs in 2 areas that it was flooded.  Two areas I have never seen flood before.  There were photos on FB today.

    I doubt we get rain tonight.  Severe weather south of here moving NE.  But one never knows.  Supposed to have rain tomorrow.  I will debate if I go to work or not if it is too much.  I might get to work but maybe not get home.  Just cannot leave the kids without food or water.

    My grandson, CF, & I texted last night and decided to meet for supper tonight.  He has moved back here from Oklahoma.  He is doing landscaping work now.  We had a nice meal & visit.  Jalisco's is so nice to go to.  Everyone calls you by name and asks how you are.  CT aways has to shake my hand when I get there and a fist bump when I leave.  JS always has to tease me.  And if I am lucky, a long chat.   Had a chat with MA tonight.  Always good.  We talked about the Tequila Train in Mexico.  A dream of mine!!

    After leaving Nico alone this afternoon he is dead to the world.  Odd.  Wonder what they were doing while I was gone!?
