003/2025 Onsdag the 19th - Wandering & Capturing Moments.

 

Today's Name Day:  Josef, Josefina

Josefina is a very special name to me.  We had a border collie named Kajsa Jo.  I sometimes called her Josefina.  She was so special.

    Our blizzard day.  We got lots of wind ---- gusts up to 60mph.  Had a mix of rain/snow then just snow.  Did not amount to much.  About an inch of snow with moisture content of 0.24".  Won't halp our drought even a little.

    I slept late.  Both cats did also.  Cinder never left our bedroom until after our nap.  Soo lazy!!

    I surely did not need a nap but I took one anyway.  Probably something to do with the weather & my health.  Went to the bedroom & both cats were in bed.  Both!! I managed to lay down & not upset Kisse.  Cinder just moves & then finds a new comfy place.  Great nap.  A blizzard nap!

    I went to get the mail.  Cold!! Windy!!  But Larry & Coco were near my house in the pasture.  I made sure I had my camera.  When I first stopped near them they looked at me.  But no matter what I said later they ignored.  How rude!!  😁  Sharing a collage photo of them later.

    I had something new for supper.  A cheese, egg, & sausage burrito.  It was pretty good.  Forgot I had them.  Need to eat newer things.  And I had powdered sugar donuts arrive today.  Great dessert!

    Our weather stayed in the low 30s today.  After my nap the temp was almost 40 so no snow remained.  Probably the last snow for me.  Only heat to look forward to now.  😦

    Someone who was sick & in treatment & could not communicate was texting others today.  Not me. He must have gotten permission to text now but I was not inclued.  Kind of usual.  I am always the last to know & not included in anything,

    Time for Spanish lesson.  They are a little easier last couple of days.  I am glad.

003/2025 Tisdag the 04th - Wandering & Capturing Moments

 

Today's Name Day:  Adrian, Adriana

    Not the best night.  Awake until almost 5am.  Then I slept pretty good.  No nap today.  Other things to do.

    Stayed too warm overnight,  It was in the 50s.  Usch.  But no major winds.  Yet.  Trash got picked up.  See how long the bins stay upright.

    Decided to shower & shampoo my hair while we have electricity.  And just got more propane this afternoon.

    Drove to my mailbox..  It was just starting to rain.  When I drove back home had to use the wipers.  And away from the protection of my house the wind is really blowing & cold.  Gusts to 40mph according to one weather app.  Winds up to 85mph in western Kansas.  Do not want that here!!!  Scary.  Temps are falling now from 50s to 41F now.

    Looking for one specific package.  Said it was in my mail box.  Not there.  Dang.  Nothing super expensive.  I emptied the mailbox..

    Had one email & a couple of texts & photos of great grandson.  Good feelings for me!!

    Hope I make it to work tomorrow.

Severe Storms Again

There was a bit of wind in town & rain.  We had a bit of rain at my house.  I hear thunder again & some wind.

Today's Name Day: Uno

    I had a good day.  Slept fair.  Cinder stayed with me.  So nice that she cares.

    MM & his son MMJ (Junior). Were here before I ate.  Today they were getting ready to school tomorrow  -----   new clothes, hair cut, other errands.  They were here so I could help with plans for them moving to a larger home to accomodate the 5 of them.  I tried to find their new house but failed.  Must get more instructions.

    I worked this afternoon.  I had some names to change since I found the correct names..  Then things went well,,

    BUT.   A true idiot added 70 new members to Lindsborg Now.  What the hell.  70!!!   I should have deleted each one.  I got no work done for about an hour.  What a mishmash of people he tried to add.  IF we had mutual friends that were talented & good people I let them in.  Out of state, stupid info, stupid names for their jobs --- those people were not added.  IF he tries this crap again, I will delete all of his people trying to be added & I will ban him.  There are too many idiots in this world,

    Supper was mexican food,  Until a weather alert was issued.  We rushed to get snow cones before the weather got bad & they closed,  Nothing severe while I was there.  Our high today was 100F.  Ick.

    Home & Cinder when out.  She is staying on the porch.  But is staying out,  I keep checking.

    Photos are very old ones of when Mom decided she wanted to get in my son's combine.  A fun memory.  She was so thrilled!!  I doubt he would care today.  None of us mean anything to him.

Independence Day 

Each year on July 4, the United States celebrates Independence Day. This federal holiday commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. 

Today's Name Day: Ulla, Ulrika

    Quiet day at home alone.  Usual normal day for me.  JR & I used to go to 4th celebration when Lindsborg had fireworks.  And I used to make sure Mom & Dad got to see them.  JR & I have also gone to Coronado Heights to watch the fireworks from there.  JR could take good photos there.  I never could.  Willie & I used to be invited to our nephews celebration for many years.  Miss those times.

    Had a bad storm here last night,  Salina had a wind gust of 82mph with sustained winds in the 60s.  I felt one big gust but no others.  Even my trash bins never moved.  Just lucky I guess.  We had rain but not too much,  Our electricity kept flickering so I turned my tv off.  I finally went to bed when I felt safe enough,  My nephew checked on me this morning to make sure all was well here.

    Nice report on the CBS news about how immigrants are welcomed in Topeka KS.  They are given an apartment filled with food & furniture.  Furniture is all donated stuff.  There is a place that is full of everything to buy that they may needed.  And the kids are included.  You have to start with the littlest to the oldest,  They all are made to feel welcome.  Nice to hear something good about Kansas.  More cities should treating others this way.  Besides English the most common languages spoken in the schools are Spanish & Urkraine.  People are here from all over the world.  I love knowing people from other countries.  They enrich my life.  I have many Swedish friends plus I am friends with people who worked in Jalisco's when it first opened.  Might not speak daily but still know each other when we need to.

    Quiet weather today and until the weekend,  And much cooler temps.  Very nice.

    Time for supper. Will have Mexican food.  JR bought me some deviled eggs last night,  They are excellent,  Will get more!!!  Have to get back on my diet shot,  I have gained a few pounds,  No bueno.

National Wanna Get Away Day           

I would kill to get away for a while.  I do not dare to even drive alone to Denver.  Wichita is sort of ok.  No one to ride with me to help drive if I need help.  Or just to ride with for fun.  I remain invisible.  Wonder if I can hire someone who cares??? Ha.

Today's Name Day: Bjarne, Björn

    Another day at home alone.  Getting too used to it.  AN texted me about harvest with photos.  We are done but they went to help her father before the rain hits.  Hope they got done for him.  Nice man.

    Slept so-so last night. Little pain.  It comes & goes.  Most of the time.  Sometimes in a flare it is constant.  I am sleeping better without my winter blanket on the bed.  Glad I changed my blankets.  Cinder lays on it often.  She is happy.  

    I am in a severe storm warning now.  Nothing yet but getting close,  Think I hear a drop or two.  Be a miracle if I get any rain at all.  Cinder just came in.  I had been to the mail box.  Glad if the weather is going to get bad  I am trying to be brave.  Hate being here alone.  Terrified.  But I am always alone.  Always.  A friend near Pratt almost always asks if I am ok & I always text her also.  Wish we lived closer to each other.  But I am lucky we are in touch at all..

    I chose not to even try to go anywhere today.  Just lazy.  And depressed.  Know what I want to do but cannot so here I sit.  Oh well.

    Photos are some I have taken of a Catholic Church in Victoria KS.  I always stopped there when I went to Denver.  Nice place to meditate & light a candle or two.  And take lots of photos.  These are the only ones that showed up today.  The photos of the outside are not mine.  Flowers are mine.
