3/2026 - Måndag den 16:e - MY JOURNEY

Today's Name Day:  Gilbert,  Herbert
There were a couple of Gilberts who lived in Lindsborg.  My nieghbour was Herbert.  His daughter was a good friend & his wife was like a grandmother to me.

Had a so-so day.  Yesterday was a challenge.  The temp fell to the 30s by the afternoon.  We had gusts of wind in the 60s.  Saw both 60 & 61.  My trash bins are a mess & trash all over my yard.  When I woke up this morning around 8am our temp was 12F.  Yikes!  😰. Got up to the 40s today.
KN told me he would pick up my trash bins but must have been too busy.  I cannot carry trash out when they are laying down.  And I hurt too much today to carry anything.  And trash men come tomorrow.  Too bad,  so sad.
I sat on the porch to go through boxes of mail.  The temp was 42F.  Let me assure you that 42F is NOT warm!!!  But I got the boxes empty & sorted.  When warm I will flatten them all.
While outside I saw the llamas.  Got one good photo.
I tried to nap but could not sleep.  Cinder laid on me & that was what I needed.  She bathed while laying on me then she left.  I got up then.  Still cold though.
My cousin wrote to me this morning around 8am.  She is in charge of our 2 cemeteries.  She said she sees that Dad has a metal WWII thing on his grave but all she can find on him is that he was drafted.  She wondered if he served or not.  So I wrote a long answer telling her he was a tail gunner in a B29.  He was stationed in India, China, & Burma.  He flew The Hump daily --- the Himalayas mountains.  They either were on bombing missions or hauling supplies in or out of bases.  His trip to there started at at Wendover Utah, then to New York, then to Morocco then to the India area.  When they got sent home he went to Tinian Island.  That is where he saw the Enola Gay & her crew that bombed Japan.  Dad did not know the crew, just who they were.  From there he went to Hawaii & they said he could stay there for R&R but he just wanted to go home.  After Hawaii he ended back at Wendover.  So he always said that he had been around the world.
Lindsborg always makes a big deal about our local veterans but Dad has never been mentioned.  No idea if he did not want to talk about his service or the town never asked & never knew.  I doubt he gets attention now.  But the one cemetery is doing an honor to service men & she wants them all mentioned. I will share a couple of photos I shared with her.
Dad is the first man in the back row.  Next to him was their commander Col. Hap Good.  The plane was named after him.

Dad with Mom & then with his mom. And him overseas.
I forgot to take my new medicine yesterday & I felt it.  Remembered today.  I feel better since taking it.  Hope it keeps working.
I had a special moment yesterday.  I got a lovely card in the mail from JL.  She designed it & wrote me a short note.  Surely made my week, not just my day!!!
Not heard from anyone today except I have called JR twice.
Photos are mostly from one artist.  I like sharing the artist.

Love the oranges.

Love the gnome guys.

Cool idea.  They say if you see a butterfly it is a spirit from Heaven.

AI me

AI me
Could I actually AI myself in real life????
