7/2026 - Monday the 13th- MY JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Joel , Judit

I have 3 friends named Joel.  Have a cousin named Judy.  She is sick now & in a home.  Went to school with a Judith.  I enjoyed visiting with her at our class reunion.  Wish she lived closer.  Wonder if she would meet for lunch if I drove to see her?  Willie was in school with a Judy

    Today is rather stressful, but I am surviving.  Yesterday was my great grandson Atlas's 6th birthday.  He chose to have it at the Öl Stuga.  It was so much fun.  I saw several friends I do not get to see often.  Met friends of MM's whose names I knew & we all liked each other.  Must plan to see them again.  And a barmaid from Hamburg Germany.  She calls me Grandma!  Love it!

    The boys had lots of fun.  I had supper & so did they.  And cupcakes.  I also had a mimosa.  Nice.  I got lots of hugs.  A worker from Jalisco's came in & sat with me.  And gave me tons of hugs. While he drank lots of beer!!

    We were in the small patio & the boys & others were on the large patio also.  I just wanted to be in the shade.

    MM paid my bar tab.  I told him not to do that but it was still nice.  Saying goodbye to MM, boys, his girlfriend, & a good friend of mine.  Nice nice hugs & several "I love you's". was the best.  Must at least text him often.  And he got his band back together so I am going to see them when they open a dance for another band.  Fun.  Always wanted to see him perform!!

    My laptop is not working right.  Irritating.  Today is better.

    Doctor appointment tomorrow.  I am scared to death of the unknown.  Not telling many people.  I tried to tell someone who should care & got ignored.  Will ignore back,

    Weather stayed in the 80s today.  Hotter is coming soon.  I hate summer.  Will be 100F for me here.

    It is true that we have very few family anymore.  The family who really love me were & are in Denver.  Most are gone now.  I know dozens of local people but none are true friends.  I am rarely included in anything.  So I am lonely a lot.  But I now know how much I am loved.  And it feels damn good,

7/2026 - Friday the 10th- MY JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  André , Andrea

I have known an Andrea or two.  Went to school with one older than me.

    Today was a good day.  I worked at the Old Mill Musuem.  My scanner still does not work like I want but not a big problem.  Just a couple of extra steps for me.  Really nice to see everyone.

    My dozen Chicago cousins asked when I worked & I hoped they would come to see me.  But they must have had more important things to do.  I am sad.  I will never see then again.  Only on FB.  Think they leave on monday.  No time for me.

    Supper was at Jalisco's.  A friend sat with us.  Nice visit.

    No rain here today.  And after tonight there is zero chance for rain for at least 10 days.  And temps all over 90F.  I hate summer.  Had a snow cone for dessert.  Cannot have one often.  Blood sugar gets too high.  Cool out now.

    Today is my great grandson Atlas's 6th birthday.  Celebrating on sunday.  He is a sweetheart.  Little older photo.  Kids are left to right: Sorion, Atlas, Junior.  Father is MM.

    Need to feed Daisy one more time.  Tomorrow maybe I can sit with her early in the day.  Too busy today.

    I am ready to rest in bed.  Tired.  Nothing tomorrow.  Gave her food & as I started to come back in a  large feral cat appeared.  White legs/feet with a the rest of her a very pale pale orange.  Gave Daisy extra where that cat could not see.

 

I try to ignore those who ignore me.

7/2026 - Wednesday the 8th- MY JOURNEY

 

Mom made this in a class she took.  It is about her life with my dad.  We may donate it to the Old Mill.  No family left who wants anything.  Sad.

Today's Name Day:  Kjell

    Today was not good.  Sleep was rare.  My arm where I had a shot is really painful.  Kept me awake.  Think I am having a reaction to the medication in it.  I read all they gave me.  Nothing too serious but with no sleep hard to function.

    I had an appointment at my one bank & dared not miss it.  So I rested a while & off I went.  To the bank.  Then to get meds I ordered.  Then supper with JR at Jalisco's.  The newest guy actually spoke to me.  We greeted each other in spanish.  MS was off but AH was working.  I managed to get back to the kitchen to say hi!  And got a little hug.  And he made sure I was ok since I saw the doctor this week.  Nice that someone cares.  And I joked with PS.  He calls me Tia.  (aunt)

    I sat out for a long long time tonight with Daisy.  I had a chair I sat in.  She was all over me & lots of purring.  And she figured out how to climb up on me & then get on the porch.  Smart kitty!  I have photos that are on my phone but not my laptop.  Hope you get to see them tomorrow.  I am going to have to call the phone company but I just have no time.

    Super hot today.  I saw 97F here today.  But low humidity.  It rained in Lindsborg while we were eating. Had around 0.15".  Maybe more later.

                                                                                     

      

6/2026 - Friday the 12th - MY JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Eskil

I had one friend named Eskil from Sweden.  He was at the college for a couple of months.  He was a composer, performer, leader of the Stockholm opera & orchestra.  We took a bus trip together.  He sat with me.  When I was in Sweden he told me to call to say hi.  I did.  He died later than year in surgery.  He was the best.  I was lucky to know him a little.

    Today was a good day.  Had a project at work that I finished today.  Glad it is over.  Came out perfect.  I also had 2 huge pictures to scan.  Learned that I can't edit them like all the others.  Easy to figure out though.

    I am working on the last bunch of photos of people & families.  But I swear there is easily a thousand photos to work on.  Yikes!!!  Have work life figured out for a while!

    Supper was at Jalisco's.  I had a phone call from Mexico to tell MA about.  And he had a map to show me & figure out where my house is.

    New young man was working tonight.  I asked who he was.  MA said I already knew him.  Oh my!!  It was MA's son but with blond hair!!!  Sure made him laugh.  Me too.  He looks good. AH came out to say hi twice.  Good to see MS.  And the two cooks came out also.  The one has always called me his aunt.  I tease him & call him my aunt also!!!  I am mean!!!  Good meal.

    I asked for a small portion of rice with an egg that was partially runny.  It was perfect.  Great cooks!!

    Drove around town a bit after supper.  JR never knew where our dad's brother lived & the former owner of the Stuga.  They were neighbours.  Now he knows.  And we got to see lots of tree damage.  Some truly awful scenes.  And one house with some sad damage.  Fixable though.

    I cannot get the internet at home.  Driving me crazy.  I have rebooted my wifi many times. Something is wrong some where.  Verizon, phone company, storm problems.  Super tired of it.  It worked for one day then gone.  Grrrr.

    No storms tonight.  Great.  And probably not tomorrow either.  Maybe.
