National Vanilla Cupcake Day

Today's Name Day: Martin, Martina

    What a super busy day I had!!  My daily stretching workout comes here at 10am.  I did it before lunch.  Does not take long.  I did it in the bedroom with both cats.  The weird looks they had on their faces as my arms waved & my legs moved around!  And I sat up & leaned around.  They were great to watch!!

    I have had a list of things I NEED & want to do.  Today was the day,  I finished changing all my friend lists on FB.

    The cats had a huge box they like to sit/lay on.  I wanted it gone.  Moving it was not easy.  But with enough effort I managed.  They now have a small table with a blanket on it to lay/sit on.  And they are not happy.  But they are accepting it slowly,

    Got the large box outside & gathered many used boxes to fill it with.  At least I was outside & could sit down.

    Next was supper of pizza.  Then ice cream for dessert.  And finally groceries.  There was no one anywhere tonight.  So quiet.  

    I took JR home & then got fuel.  It is pretty cheap & has been for a week.  I paid $2.69 a gallon.  Hope it lasts.

    I wore a nice gold safety pin on my sweater. that way people know I am safe to talk to or ask for help.  I am not one of the others.  I have read a lot of stuff & much what 45 wants to do is illegal.  Great.

    This week is dreadful.  Too busy. I am cancelling monday to stay home & rest & finish a couple of things on my list.  Tuesday has 2 major things & one I hope to change.  The rest of the week is busy & nothing I can change.

    Rain is a maybe midweek & next weekend,  Time will tell.

Friday the 13th

Today's Name Day: Sture

    I have had a crappy week but it ended today.  So I am starting my blog with my FB post with names & all.  It was a great day finally.  Involving my great grandsons.

    Finally a good day!!! Almost missed my groceries pick up. But made it on time. And got all I ordered. Drove by Mikael's house. First thing I saw was Atlas. He came running to my car!! With "I love you's" for me. Then I saw Kaycee, mom. We had a nice visit. Then Sorion came running. Lots more love. Fun talking to them!! They wanted me to come in but I had a trunk full of groceries. Atlas wanted a hug when I left and saw the change in my door. Now that is kids money. Nice hugs. They were what I needed so much!!! No Mikael there. Was at work. See him this weekend!!!! And Mikael Jr was in school.

    Not bad weather. Low was 57 & high was 88. Some breeze. Maybe rain next week. Maybe. They need to not talk it up to avoid disappointment.

    I have had a project for my bathroom I have wanted to do. Today was the day. I got a great start. Nice. Continue as able.

    My meals were great. New & different food. No more ham slices. Beef was awesome. Cinder gets the ham. Her fave. I had planned on a breakfast burrito for supper but will do that tomorrow. They look good.

    No nap today. Took a pill for sleep & boy did it work great. Try not to avoid taking them. Whatever works.

    Cinder has been in & out today. Get her in soon. She cuddled with me lots last night.

17 January, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    Had a busy day.  Up early to get ready.  Ate lunch early.  Then off to Hutchinson.  The day started with heavy fog with warnings of freezing fog & slick spots on the road.  No problem.  Too warm.  I had not gone too far when the fog lifted. 

    I saw my diabetic doctor.  Well, his PA.  I really like her.  She listens & lets me talk.  And she is kind.  We decided to start a new medicine for diabetes that will cause me to lose weight.  And maybe use less insulin.  A shot I give myself once a week.  See how pricey it is.  Medicare is not kind to people who use it.  Great!!!

    I treated myself to a dip cone in McPherson.  That is a vanilla ice cream cone dipped in chocolate sauce.  Not had one in years.  A nice treat.

    Got home & had gotten my monthly delivery from Amazon.  Too many things.  I have cancelled many things.  I managed to haul some stuff out to the trash bins.  Still more to do.  Glad I had little pain today, thanks to my pain patches.  They work pretty good.

    Tonight I fell asleep for a short time.  Tired.  Now my wrists are hurting.  It is always something.

    The weather is supposed to be getting wet here.  NW Kansas has 9 inches of snow forecast.  We will only get rain.  Or a mix of snow/rain.  Probably not much.  Hopefully no ice so I can go to work tomorrow.  I miss being there.

    Watched part of a basketball match of the 2 big universities in Kansas.  Finally my team won.  Finally.  Close game.

04 may, 2022 Wandering

    The house is still cold but we must be used to it.  I stayed in bed all night.  Nico slept on top of the covers.  Kisse was nearby or on the bed occasionally.  Was not too bad until this afternoon I needed to get ready to go.  Dang it was cold in the back of the house.  Will be better on friday.

    Quiet outside early today.  Had a small amount of rain.  This afternoon it misted on the way to the hospital.  While inside it poured down and thundered.  By the time we went to the car, it was lighter rain.  By the time to go home after supper just mist.

    JR had a possible infection so we went to the hospital this afternoon.  He was better today but we still went.  Saw a nice PA who said he looked better and no antibiotic.  Hate to give if you an antibiotic if really don't need it then when you do it won't work.

    Next we went to Jalisco's for supper.  For a long time there was no one there but us!!  Did the rain scare people to stay home?  Finally there was a fair crowd.  There were some take meals too.

    At the next table were people that PM knows.  The little boy had a cool tiny car that he showed me.  He would send it racing into things --- like me --- & then it would back up!  I think JR got a photo of us!!  I hope.

    Home now.  I hope Nico is better than last night.  He was in everything!!!  But then later he was fine.  Surely it was the cold front.  Not bothering me much.  Less pain than the last one.  Hope more rain is coming.

    Busy day tomorrow.  Then calmer on friday.  I hope.  I missed working today.  But no choice.  Be there next week.

    My peonies are growing.  The one that usually is the largest is small.  The one that is usually small is huge!  And a few flower buds!  I have 2 irises that have survived.  The larger one has 2 buds.  The little one nothing.  Terribly small.  Time will tell.  Wish I had a lilac bush. There was a long line in my yard but after our house fire and we moved it died.  Or Willie cut it down.  Who knows.  I am surprised I will get even one flower!!!

    Lots on my mind.  Hope I can sleep tonight.  Too much to think of and I have no answers.  Wish I did.

22 april, 2022 Wandering

    I had a super busy day that was both good & bad.  I ended up in tears.

    Started the day having lunch with my grandson, MM, & no babies.  Miss them but nice to visit with just him.  We ate at Jalisco's.  Something I ate yesterday upset my stomach & was not too hungry today.

    Then home to take Nico out.  Right after that I went to Assaria to have 3 new tires put on my car & an oil change.  Had a new one after my blowout that was not paid for.  Did not take long but was more expensive than I expected.  That is ok.  They are good tires.  Before my husband died he had bought new tires for the car but he had not paid for them.  They were cheaper than the ones I had put on today.

    Home again to deal with Nico.  He was a problem & then Cinder hid under the car.  I was almost late picking my brother up.

    Supper with JR & PM.  Eating was ok but conversation was almost too much trouble.  I finally gave up.  But the Mexican food was better than the burger at noon.  Not their fault just my stomach troubles.

    The weather was horrible today.  Winds up to at least 60 mph.  My house jiggles at around 50-60 mph & it jiggled today.  It was nearly impossible to open or close my front door & my car door.  My hair stood straight up.  I tried to fix it in the car but that was a joke.  I am sure I looked awful.

    And on top of that, I upset someone I care about dearly.  I never learn.  Ever.  If I would just shut up and only answer yes or no life would be better for all.  And I dared to mention how awful I feel and only got jokes about me in return.  Again, I never learn.  Cried again.

    On my road home, there was a huge snapping turtle.  Totally vicious looking!  I looked it up & it was an Alligator snapping turtle.  I did not pick him up to help him across the road.  I am not quite that stupid.  But I waited to make sure he made it ok.  Scary looking.

    It got up to 82F outside & inside my house it was & still is 81F.  How will I sleep tonight?  Last night was miserable.  Talked to my AC guy.  He will fix it next week.  Great!

Wandering Through Life, 18 auqust 2021

 I had a super busy day.  Very nice.  I started with a long leisurely lunch with my non bio grandson.  Nice to spend time with him.  We ate at Jalisco’s.  Missed his girlfriend and kids.

I worked today at the Old Mill.  LOve the old photos and I had been doing my family photos. Family I only know by names.  I photographed each one.  Nice to have a face to the names.  While there I got to meet the new director.  I like her. She was very nice and we chatted a little.  Nice to be told goodbye when I left.  She already has some good ideas.

Had a short break at home. Then back to town.  Had supper with my brother.  And the manager and my best friend at Jalisco’s were sure in prime form tonight!  Lots of joking. It is nice for me to actually feel good inside.  HOpe it lasts.

I watched Rachel Maddow tonight.  She told a story of someone who worked for us in Afghanistan.  She told it minute by minute and photo by photo.  I ended up sitting on the edge of the sofa not knowing the outcome.  And when Rachel cried so did I.  I am still tense.  If you get a chance to see her story, please do.

Weather is ok.  Not too hot but no rain.  The dust grows and increases.
