Make Cut-Out Snowflakes Day

Today's Name Day is Johannes

    I cancelled today.   Nico was ill last night.   He had stomach issues.   I stayed awake a lot to try to get him outside before he made a mess on the floor.   I failed a couple of times.  Not a good night.

     I got a little sleep after 5am.   I wanted a nap but did not get one.   Feeling it now.

    I needed to help MM but he drove out here instead  of lunch.   He is getting ready to go to his job in another state.   This is just training in construction.   I am happy for him but feeling deserted.   Shame at me.   He & KW & their son drove out here briefly.   And brought me a bottle of Pepsi!!

    The weather stayed cold today.   In the 40s.   I never warmed up.   Cold last night also.   In the 20's.   No more snow for us.  😞. But there is 2 more cold fronts forecast in the next few days.   My joints are joyful at the thought!

    Been sorting through graphics on my phone.   Got too many.   And deleted quite a few.   Over 200.

    Cinder has to go out & then back in.   And then out again.   Keeps me busy.   Put her out when we went to bed last night.   I felt guilty.   So cold.  Got every one fed & back in the bedroom.   I went to the front door & called.   She made a  mad dash for home from the shed.   All day Nico makes me move on the sofa so he can have his corner & pillow.   I no sooner get comfy & he gets off the sofa.  Then I can slide back.   Like a workout.   

    I took both Nico & Cinder outside for a while.   I took lots of photos of them together.   They sure love each other.   Hard not to cry.   Plan to do this often.   Got several nice ones today.

    Photos are ones I took this afternoon.   All the B&W ones are today's photos.   There is a colored one that is a few days old.   Should have changed it to B&W.

    Hope Nico stays ok.   I have things to do the next couple of days.   Of course no plans for New Years.   We used to go out.   The lady friends & I wore sort of evening dresses.   That was fun.   Miss those times.   I am sure there are get toughers but. I would never be included.   Fun to be invisible.

Today's Name Day is Stefan

    Had a quiet & alone day.   Slept ok.   Snowed today.   I even took a couple of videos that showed the snow falling.   Never done that before.   Read instructions & a new iPhone helped.   Fun!

    Not quite as depressed as yesterday, but the weather is playing havoc with my joints.   Did manage a nap with Nico but it was difficult.   I finally gave up.

    What a surprise I had.   Had a nice note from my friend from South Africa.   Holiday & birthday greetings from him.   I miss him.   Not seen him in many years.

    Still snow in the state..   Not where I am but it is swirling around so I have a tad bit of hope.   At least it is staying cold so it is not melting all away today.   

    Today was trash day.   They never came here.   Hope they are ok.   Now no pick up for 2 weeks.   Hope I have room for two weeks of trash.   I never took anything out yesterday with the snow & wind.   And who knows, maybe they will be here tomorrow.

    Finally watching the Willie Nelson birthday show.   He is the best.   His concert was the best I have ever seen.   What a talent.   Lots of singers on.   As long as no Mariah Carey or Taylor Swift all is well!

    Poor Cinder.   She wants to go out but then wants back in.   Too cold.   And wet.   She was out all last night.  I called every time I was out but she never showed up until today.

    My new laptop is all screwy.   Will take it somewhere to see what they think.   Not happy.

    Sad tonight.   All my good leftovers are now gone.   Dang.   Eating out twice tomorrow.   That will help.   Get groceries on Thursday.

    Got new candles today.  Lit This Is Christmas.   Wow does that smell great!!

National Pumpkin Pie Day

Today's Name Day is (No name)

    Today was ok but I have had better.   Seems like Nico wanted up often.   I did manage to sleep in between.   Tried to nap this afternoon but not good.

    I got a big surprise early in the evening/night.   Took Nico out & it was all white outside.   Snow.   Totally unexpected..   It stopped sometime this morning.  

But then started again around supper time.   Still in a winter weather advisory.   The strong north wind is not helping at all.

    Nico got sick in the kitchen twice.   What a fun Christmas job for me.   Been ok since then.   He is stressing me out daily.

    I finished watching the Santa Clause 3.   I remember this movie but not the first two.   Now watching old Anthony Bourdain shows,   I really miss him.

    I survived Christmas without crying or feeling any worse than usual.   Did miss having the old family get togethers.   Some have huge families then someone like me has no one.   Doesn't seem fair.   But then when is life ever fair??

    I did go out to take snow photos.   Not for too long.   our temp was 27 all day.   We had around a half inch of rain    It is much needed.

Christmas Eve

Today's Name Day is Eva

    Had a good day even though there was no family except my brother.   Miss the olden days of huge family celebrations.   Drove by the house we celebrated in.   Lots of memories.   But no tears.   I am sure there a huge group there today & will be again tomorrow.

    Not with any family but talked to several of the best ones.

    JR & I had Christmas Eve supper at China.   I am so grateful they were open.   No longer have to drive around for many minutes in Salina looking for some place to eat.   And we got much better food at China.   I can eat most of my food there  but bring some home.   Good eating tomorrow!!   BBQ & sweet & sour chicken.   Fun to eat good.

    After supper we drove all over town looking at Christmas lights.   I took many photos.   Are they good ones?   Probably not.   Need to go right after sunset.   Will try another day.  But I did some edits & they are maybe passable.   Maybe.

    When we went into China there was a fine drizzle.   But then it picked up to rain while we drove around town.   Just out now & still raining,   Cannot see how heavy but can hear it.   The wind might still be strong but when it comes out of the north I do not feel it.   There is a huge tree line north of my house.   South winds are awful!!   It was strong in town.

    Watching the Santa Clause 2 now.   Like it.   Last night was Santa Clause 1.   Tomorrow Santa Clause 3.   I have managed to get some enjoyment out of Christmas.   And tonight my nephew relieved a ton of my stress.   I am so lucky to have him on my side.  He & his family are the best.

Today's Name Day is Adam

    It was super foggy again this morning.  Glad I could stay home & not drive in it.   Still a bit hazy out.  The car was really wet.   Almost like it rained.   There is rain on the radar.

    Slept pretty good.   So did Nico.   Glad for that.   I think it is time to make a decision about him.   It is killing me.   I hope I can find a vet to come to the farm.   God help me & him.

    Had a great lunch.   BBQ beef, bacon bourbon jam flavored pretzels, & birthday cake.   Perfect!   Nico agreed!!!

    Nico has been good so far.   Won't last.   He is a mess.  I should take a nap but have bills to write.   Yuck!   Got them all written out.   Mail tomorrow.

    MM called.   He has a new job.   I am so glad.   Pays really good but takes him out of state.   I will miss. him.   More than I can say.   Having lunch before he leaves.   No little ones though.

    Watched a little futbol on TV this afternoon.   End of a match in England.   Prefer European sports.   Or Mexican futbol.

    Day is not ending well.   Too much guilt about Nico.   Too many family photos & memories.   I am invisible to most family.   They rarely if ever think of me.   Some days I don't care.   But today is different.   Glad I am home alone.

Today's Name Day is Natalie 

    Had a great day!!!   All day!!!   This morning it was extremely foggy.   It was like pea soup outside.  Very hard to drive.   I could only go around 40 mph.   Supposed to be the same tomorrow.

    My friend LL & I went to Galva KS for lunch.   A home cooking type place.   I had a hot beef sandwich.   Excellent.

    Then we went back to McPherson to a small cafe that also make casseroles they freeze & sell.   I bought 2 different ones.  LL has bought there a couple of times & said they are  good.

    Back home I tried to nap but could not relax.   Excited about the evening.   Have a birthday party to attend.

    Took off for Lindsborg around 430.   The road closed sign was laying down.   I dared not believe it so went to town on the highway.   But after the party I came on the formerly closed road.   And it is open!!!   Great!!!

    Party at MA's house.  It is his birthday today.  It is also his brother's birthday also.  He said they are twins, but 10 years apart!!   Hahaha!!!   Big party.   I got to meet 2 of his brothers & one of his sisters.   His brother from Nebraska was there & one from Concordia.   He & is lady are pregnant so good to see them.   And his daughter in college.  Also his parents.   I love them!   Very nice!!

    Lots of great visiting.   Lots to catch up on.   Plus 2 puppies to play with.   Great food.   Rice, beans, hot dogs, beef, sauce, pasta, drinks.

    Before I went home the birthday boys lined up with the cake & cup cakes.   MA gave me 2 cup cakes & a piece of cake to take home.   We all sang.  Both in English & Spanish.  The Mexican tradition on one's birthday is to push their face in their cake.   I could not reach MA.   Dang.   They all took a tiny amount of frosting & tapped their own noses.   BUT.   MA's high school son reached around me & the fridge with a handful of frosting & got is Dad good!!!   I got photos!!   His mom got a video.   How fun!!!
