8/2026 - Tuesday the 11th - MY JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Susanna

I went to high school with a Susanna & her 2 sisters.  One was my age.

    Today was just a day of "nada".  Just lonely.  I try to ignore those who have real lives.

    I tried to nap but did not.  Instead I sorted through photos & deleted almost 900.  I am way behind,

    Ready for autumn.  Today was 106.3F.  All you sun loving people can have it.  Makes me physically sick.  Bryr sig någon??  And no change in our weather until maybe this weekend or next week.  Hope my car works.  It does not like super hot stuff either.

    I tried some kind of soda that is supposed to be healthy.  But it does not taste good.  Need to quit trying new things.

    CH 10 had a special on tonight about Aug. 11, 1976 in Wichita.  I remember when it happened.  Eleven victims were shot & killed.  There were others injured for various reasons.  The shooter was Michael Soles.  He is actually still alive in prison.  There was no death penalty then.   The reason  I remember this event so well was after the shooting Willie & I were there in the Holidayt Inn.  Has a different name now.  Willie was a semi truck driver then.  Another trucker was being honored  for something.  He was a friend of all of us.  So there was big award/meeting/supper, etc.  I cannot remember how long after the shooting it was held but many of his friends went.  It in the Holiday Inn.  After eating there was a bar open for us to go to on one of the top floors for free drinks.   The bar was actually in the room where there shooter was located shooting.  I watched on tv about it tonight.  I remember feeling kind of creepy in the shooting room.  They had an interview with the shooter.  He has tried to get out but thankfully they refuse.  He seems to think he could help others,  I do not think so.  His life was never good.  Not as a child or adult.  I want to see the special again.

This is very true.  Plus I have friends in many foreign countries.  Would hate to lose contact with family & friends,

Today's Name Day:  Susanna

Not sure I know any Susannas, but several years ago JR & I were eating in Wichita.  Next to us was a table of several older women, totally enjoying their food & each other.  The one lady had a basket of stuffed animals the others were selecting ones they wanted.  I watched with interest.  There was one large bunny no one chose.  The lady who owned it gave it to me.  ME!!!  I was so surprised.  Her name was Susanna so I named my bunny Susanna.  It sits near my bed.  Very special bunny & memory. 💓

    I had an ok day.  I waited for RG to call to eat out but he must be busy.  I called him but no call back.  No problem.  See him another day.

    Over the weekend on friday & saturday someone tried to get into my one bank.  The bank locked my account & told me to call on monday.  I did that this morning but they wanted me to come in.  They checked the emails they sent & all was well.  They unlocked my account & gave me a new sign on name.  Then they gave me a password of numbers.  I signed on & changed my password right away.  All is well.  Then on to another bank where I was overdrawn.  Trying to support two other families takes it toll.  Now fixed.  For now.

    Next I fueled my car.  Price was pretty cheap.  Nice.  I thought of getting a salad for supper but saved my money.  Have food at home.  No fun.  At least I am cautious.

    Had rain overnight. I got an impressive 0.49".  Everyone else got much more.  As always.  Lindsborg got more.  Marquette got lots more.  I ignore the weather on the news.  Now hot & humid is returning.  No more rain.

    I thought of stopping in somewhere in town to say hello but just too tired.  Came home to nap.

    Had one email.  Nice one.  And a good morning text.  MM ignored me until I wrote him.  Still in pain.  Me too.

    TV is better tonight.  New episodes of Mysteries of the Unknown. I have seen a couple of them but some are new.  Better than reruns.  Rachel Maddow is on tonight live.  Will watch it at 9pm.

    My RA & Sjogrens are bad.  My skin is so dry it just flakes off.  Lotion does no good.  And it hurts to itch.

    Photos are a mix with some nice flowers from a reel I saw.  Plus autumn & winter photos.

A 4 person bicycle type thing people can rent from a business.
