Hudson's Bay founded National Red Mitten Day to encourage Canadians to show their support for Canadian athletes and share their national pride through the tradition of wearing the company’s Red Mittens. Their goal on November 21st is to sell 25,000 Red Mittens to support Canadian Athletes in pursuing their dreams.

Since its launch ahead of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games, Hudson’s Bay’s Red Mittens have become the nation’s most iconic symbol of Canadian Olympic pride. From every sale of a pair of Red Mittens, $3.90 goes to support Canadian athletes. To date, the Red Mittens alone have raised more than $30 million for the Canadian Olympic Foundation.

Today's Name Day:  Helga, Olga

Went to nursing school with a Helga.  We were good friends but she died really young.  Miss her

    Today was a very quiet day.  Had water over my drive.  Not a lot but forecast was rain all day today.  They lied.  Plus I had an upset stomach.  Just did not feel good.  Stayed home today.  No one was there to miss me.  LL would have moved all her stuff to the upstairs office.  I would not have seen much of her.

    Rested all day.  Cats followed me to nap in bed.  I was cold today.  Dressed extra warm.  Felt good.

    No texts to speak of from anyone.  Only one email & one photo.

    The next week is nothing for me but "on the outside looking in".  Hate holidays.  Always feel left out as I always am left out.

    Sat outside for a short time.  Nothing special was seen. Got one small package.  It looked like it was used.  All scratched.  Ugly.  Nothing special or expensive.  Just a waste.

    TV sucks tonight.  As usual.  Fridays are never good.  All old shows.  Especially late night shows.

10/2025 - Sábado the 25th - MY JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Inga, Ingalill 💓

I had the sweetest friend named Inga-Lill.  I sure miss her.

    Had a great day.  Started raining this morning & tonight has not stopped yet.  The rain on thursday & this rain today totals to over 1 inch.  Amazing.  And stayed very cool overnight & today.  Never got out of the 50s.  Love it!!  In the forecast there is nary an 80 to be seen.  Great.  No giddy weatherman!!!

    I worked at the SVAFC.  I forgot to remind MH but saw him walk by & yelled at him.  He is a blessing.

    It was a totally slow day.  Only 2 visitors.  I stayed awake pretty good. Until the last hour.

    I was playing a game & not thinking about anything or anyone.  And a thought suddenly came to my mind:

What a weird thought I just had. Trying to stay awake, playing a game. Out of the blue I thought that Willie would be home waiting since it is raining. Been years since I thought that. Makes me sad. 

I can just see him in his chair with Nico, cup of coffee, a cookie, and the newspaper. He should be there. And not gone.

I cried all the way home.

    When I went home it was not raining in town but started outside of town.  And got heavier as I got closer to home.

    Just has a video chat with JS.  Very nice.  Been a while.  Such a good friend.  I worry to death about him.  Scared of the violent agents.

    Glad tonight is saturday.  Saturday Night Live tonight.  Glad I had a nap.  Won't be tired,.

    Time for my spanish lesson.  Last night was an easy one.

09/2025 - Martes the 08th - MY JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Alma, Hulda

    Today was a day of rest.   I slept ok until around 4am.  I had been watching the radar & a small area of rain appeared.  Not doing much so I went to sleep.  Then around 7am a loud crack of thunder woke me up!  Radar showed a big storm of heavy rain.  It proceeded to thunder loudly all day until around 630pm.   I got lots of rain.  Got 3.82".  What a miracle.  There were places near me that got around 9-10".  With flooding.  I mostly stayed inside today.  At supper time I looked out at my driveway.  It was still under water.  I maybe could drive through if I needed but not safe to try that.

    MM & I planned to eat out this noon.  But I cancelled due to my driveway.  Will try again tomorrow.  I changed my day to a Jammie Day!!!  Resting good.

    I still have aches & pains from my accident.  Both arms ache.  Nothing real bad but new pains.  Both knees hurt.  Left knee is better.  Plus I feel terror when walking around.  A little better at times.

    Emailed with JL & texted with MM.  One short photo from CF.

    House got so cold last night.  I finally turned the heat on & added another blanket.  Then we all felt better.
