Today's Name Day:  Algot

    Had a great day out in the world. at last.

    MM called me right as my alarm went off this morning.  Asked me out to lunch.  Of course I said yes.  I got dressed & picked him up at his home.  We ate Mexican.  I had a burger and fries.  Saving Mexican for supper.

    I try to learn bits & pieces of Spanish to use.  I learned to order my Mexican coke in spanish.  And MA what I said was correct but he would say it differently.  I say it his way.  May be where he is from or how is parents said it.  But I always say it his way. 

    I worked at the Old Mill this afternoon.  Boring photos,  But they are moving along.  One photo had 2 of my favorite people.  Miss them so much!

    Supper was Mexican again.  I had my burrito.  Good.  I declined ice cream.  Decided to wait to get groceries then decide about ice cream.  Got a small dish of soft serve with caramel sauce.  Perfect.  I hate to say no to MA but he understands,

    Kids were both so glad when I got home.  Nice to be missed!!   Both wanted petting.  And got what they wanted.

 

    I did my spanish lesson.  It has been just awful lately.  Very frustrating.  Tonight was much easier.  What a relief.  Fun to do better.

    Weather was a bit better.  Still really humid but cooler.  I saw 85F for a high.  Then in town it rained. Very nice.  At my house, not a drop.  Of course.

    Mosquitos are horrible.  I have patches to wear to repel mosquitos & another for Ticks.  I added one to my top for mosquitos.  I noticed at lunch there was a fly around.  It left me alone.  Going home I got a mosquito in my car.  It wanted out in the worst way.  I stopped & opened my window & out he went.  They might work.  Got a bite on my ankle.  Going to bed with one on my ankle & one on my shoulder.

 I have a broken heart.

Sad day for me.  Nico died today a year ago at around 230 pm.  I hurt every day missing him.  Just not right.  Photos are of Nico.

Today's Name Day:  Alfred, Alfrida

Alfred is a special name for me. A cousin from Kentucky on my dad's side.  We are the same age.  Wish he was in FB but we text each other.

    I had a really busy day!! But it was all good.  Started with lunch with my grandson MM at Jalisco's.  Short meal.  He had a list of things to do like I did!

    I had an hour from lunch to work time so I fueled the car & then went to the car wash.  Needed to go to the bank but no parking places.  Round the block I went about 4 times before  someone left.

    Then work time.  Great to be there.  LL had been to California for Christmas so I had missed her.  She did text me a few times while gone.  I did not get done all I wanted to.  I will post blizzard.  Had a few photos with no names on them but the more I looked at them I recognized a few.  One photo I knew exactly who to send it to for an answer.  One photo I knew who they are but only know the first name.  Then I will be done with Folder W.  Then Folders X, Y, Z.  Not looked at them yet but cannot have many photos in them.

    Supper was back to Jalisco's.  I treated myself to steak.  For my birthday.  I had decided to take myself to Olive Garden for my birthday on sunday noon.  I refuse to drive at night especially since my eyes are so bad I can barely see or read.  No one worries about I feel or what I need.  My laser procedure will help,  This year I am taking care of ME.  Few people care how I am.  Or care what I need.  I know those who do.  And anyone who wants to eat with me at noon on a special day must get up & come with.  If you do not want to go out to eat with me on a special day then stay home.  This year is about me for a change.

    Jalisco was unusually busy tonight!!  Like it is everyone's last meal for a while.  Probably is.  It was packed.

    Supper then groceries.  I made sure that the cats & I are ok.  We should be unless the electricity goes off.  I sure hope not.  MM told me he would make sure we are OK.  Only one who told me that,  But MA told me if I needed a burrito or margarita he would drive them out to me.  Bless his heart!!!

    Grandson MM has said he would take me to my eye procedure at the hospital.  It is not his usual day to work.  I might have KN on call also. Just think having a driver would be easier on me.  Will have blurry vision & hopefully no pain.  I feel positive about this.

    Blizzard this weekend.  Ice tomorrow.  Up to an half inch.  Then up to 14 inches of snow.  And up to 40 mph winds.  Chances of loss of power.  Been there done that.  No fun!!! That is a worry.  Another storm in a couple of weeks,  No idea how bad or anything. yet

Today's Name Day is Mauritz, Moritz

    Had another really good day!  Met grandson MM at Jalisco's for lunch.  Had a great visit.  Glad we could meet.

    When I got to Jalisco's there was not one parking place on either side of the street.  I parked in back & entered through the kitchen.  Very cool.  All 4 helpers called my name, waved, & were glad to see me.  Never happens when I enter the front door!!

                    

    At home I took a nap.  Not much sleep last night.  Kisse came & got lots of attention.  Then she curled up by my back & slept there through my entire nap.  Cinder was in but hiding.  Nico was by my legs.  Nice.

    Back to Jalisco's for supper with JR.  They were swamped all evening!!  I ordered ice cream from our waiter PR.  He was running & just had no time to get it for us.  When he finally did our ice cream had whipped cream & a cherry on top.  Very special!!

01 september, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

Todays Name Day is Per 

    Had a night with little sleep.  Thanks to Cinder & Nico.  She kept going between her chair & me.  Nico kept going outside.  I tried to take a short nap today but again Nico wanted attention.  I should sleep good tonight.

    I met grandson MM for lunch at Jalisco's.  They were busy.  So good to see him!!  Had a nice visit.

    After lunch MM connected my Spotify to my car's bluetooth.  So nice.  Comes on when I turn the car on!

    Supper was with JR at Jalisco's.  Still a little busy.  Went over some photos that JR posted on FB.  More people had been identified.  Old festival photos.  So fun to see!  The newest waiter, PR, that I have known for years even had time to sit & visit.  Nice evening.

    There is a fairly large sunflower field near Willie's grave.  Unfortunately you have to walk a ways to be able to take photos.  I chose to pass.  Time to drive the back roads home to see what is blooming.  And a little rain would sure help.

    Good to check Willie's grave.  No more vandalism.  Yet.

    Cinder came in this morning around 7am.  And never went out until after 4pm.  Long nap for her!!!

    CF's girlfriend has started sending me voice messages.  Very nice.  We talk often & so nice to hear a voice.  I feel like I know her now.

20 January, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    Busy day but nothing major.  All good.  Slept ok with little pain.  My left wrist seems to be the one pain that is pretty constant.  Cinder was in half the night.  And in once today.

    I met my grandson CF for lunch at Jalisco's.  We have decided to make this a weekly date.  Want to keep in touch.  There are others that I should do the same with but they are too busy.  Had a good visit.  And always good to be with the staff there.  Headed into JS's last week here.  I cannot talk about it.  Far too painful.

    This afternoon my nephew came over with a new water heater that I can actually shower & shampoo with hot water.  What a miracle.  I really do not ask for much but so rarely get what I need.

    Then tonight JR & I went back to Jalisco's.  They were not too busy.  Saw 2 friends there.  Always good to be there.

    The weather was calm.  Everything was frosty this morning.  Snow is headed our way.  We can get up to 4 inches.  Right now the storm is on the Colorado  Kansas state line.  I am worried about driving tomorrow.  Wish I could stay home.

    Photos are a mix of things.  The old brick hotel was in Lindsborg.  Unfortunately the city tore it down recently.  Sad to lose history.  Hard to talk about.

                        

                                                                

    What a surprising day I had.  Will start at the end.  Too excited not too!!

    JR & I went for supper at Jalisco's.  They were really busy.  Good to see.  When we were done with our food here came the entire staff with JS carrying a beautiful birthday cake for me.  The candles were lit.  They all sang to me in Spanish.  And as usual JS had a spoon with whipped cream on it for my face!!!  A Mexican custom but usually it is your face in the cake!!!  I was so surprised.  JS is really sweet and so were all the guys!!  JR & I had each a piece of cake.  I cut pieces for each of the staff.  And for JR when I took him home.  I was so surprised.  And deeply touched!!

    The rest of my day was good also.  Started with lunch at Jalisco's with my grandson & a friend from Wichita.  Had a good visit.  Must do that more often.

    I tried to take a short nap when at home but Nico & Cinder just would not let that happen.

    Then Nico went to the vet to get his nails trimmed.  It took them forever to get to us.  No idea what the problem was.  Oh well.

    Then back to Jalisco's.  Great way to end the day!!
