Sheltering in Place, Mood Of Silence, Day 199....

Not too bad of a day. Great weather. Loving it. High in the 60s. Warmer tomorrow and next week. Not too warm.

Had errands to run. Needed money in the bank. Then I picked up a burger and fries for lunch. So much better than cooking.

Sat outside tonight with Nico. A bit chilly after supper.

I had ordered a sort of lounging dress but it was for cool weather. Have it on. Very nice. And warm.

There are strange happenings on my farm. We have always had crows living here, usually in the SW corner of my farm. At night Nico sometimes barks at the bedroom window. The other night he was vicious sounding. Then we went out later and he kept looking at the tall weeds, growling, hair standing up, etc. I saw or heard nothing. But he did. The next day the crows were in my front yard to the NE. They were like on a party line --- all talking at once loudly! Nico looked over that same way, growling, hair standing up, etc. Again at tall weeds. Hmmm.

Photos today are carvings by my great grandmother known as Grandma Larkins. She started carving in Sweden as a child. She carved for the King. She was married there and had 2 daughters. Then divorced. Three years later she had another daughter. She had no spouse or significant other that we know of. That little girl died as a baby. She came to the US and met my great grandfather in Ark City. Then they moved to McPherson KS. She would trade her cavings for groceries and had some displayed there for sale. Children would come to watch her carve. She always had the old curvy Christmas candy for them. She had a bucket of broken glass she would put her carvings in and move them around to smooth them. She died before I was born. Photos are from a retrospective of her work. My brother and I had many carvings of ours in it. I want all the work of hers we have to go to that museum. There is no family here that is interested in family stuff. Very sad. And I would be scared they would just sell them since they are greedy.

The last photo is a delightful photo of my grandson and I. We are a lovely pair!!! Haha!
