Today is banner day. Exactly one year ago today I stopped going anywhere. No shopping except online. Groceries I call for and pick up. I allow myself to eat either take out or inhouse dining at Jalisco's. Being there saves my sanity. There has never been one case of Covid been traced to there. They measured my booth to the closest table. I am 7 feet from anyone then. Most of the time I only see my brother and the waitstaff there. Rarely a time with any friends. One long year. Will a year even change things for me? I am sure it will for most others.
I watched one local TV channel for the weather. They assured me all the moisture would be gone soon and be only near Oklahoma. Then I watched a different channel. Their map had not changed since yesterday. And they were correct. Rainy, snowy, and windy all day. I now know who to believe.
It was warmer overnight than today. Stayed in the 40s at night and 30's today. It was rainy and foggy. When driving the raindrops had snow in them. We needed some rain. And I prefer cooler weather than too warm.
Nico had his nails cut and got some flea/tick medicine. He does not like being messed with so there is always trouble getting their leash on him and mine off. The girl that came to get him was sooo slick. She had her leash on him before he knew it! Good!
On the national news one newsman got to see his mother in person for the first time in a year. Made me cry. They were so glad to see each other. I will never have a son or daughter want to see me. It usually does not bother me any more. I have 2 grandsons and 3 great grandsons, my nephew, my brother, my bestie, and a couple of personal friends. But sometimes seeing everyone being with large family groups is unbearable. I work hard to keep it out of my mind and life.
Nico is officially on a diet. No people food and many fewer treats. Not sure who will suffer more!
No Jalisco's tonight. That was a stupid decision! My TV dinner was ok. Turkey and dressing.
