Veterans Day
.......on November 11th honors military veterans who served in the United States Armed Forces. The federal holiday coincides with Armistice Day and Remembrance Day, which marks World War I. These observances reflect the end of significant hostilities at the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 when the Armistice with Germany took effect. Initially, the United States observed Armistice Day as well. However, it evolved into the current Veterans Day in 1954.
Today's Name Day: Mårten
.....special name ot me. Had a cousin with this name. I neve got to meet him. His job had him travel the world. He was always gone when I was in Sweden. The last couple years of his life he got dementia or ahlzheimers & lived in a special home before he died. We used to email once in a while.
Today was just so-so. I had things I wanted to do but just no energy. I was up late finishing things I needed to do after coming home late.
I had not taken a nap in over a week but today I had a nice nap. And tonight I am still tired Took another short nap. Not having too much pain.
I totally forgot that tomorrow is trash day. I have most of it out there except for one more bag or two that could go out but I am not going out in the dark. Those couple of bags can wait until tomorrow afternoon.
Got a lot of photos from MM. He is working at the Legion today. For veterans day they had a shrimp boil meal. Not seen that much shrimp!!! Then they destroyed old flags. I had no idea how they did that. Now I know. I am glad he works there. I think they all like him. I need to stop in more often to chat & have a cocktail or two.
I think got one appointment cancelled for tomorrow. Can reschedule for next week. Need to take care of me. Not everyone can understand.
After rearranging my FB friends I did add a few to my blog. If they do not like it can ignore or ask to be removed.
Photos today are free ones of Rocky Mountain snow. Sure wish I was there. Never been there is much snow. Was there one spring. Woke up in the morning & looked out the window to 12" of snow. Beautiful with flowers peeking out of it! Did not last long.
