03/2024 Fredag the 8th - Wandering & Capturing Moments

International Women's Day

Today's Name Day: Saga, Siv

I had a good day but a bad night.  Both my hips & back hurt all night.  I could sleep only 50 minutes at a time.  Then turn over.  Exhausted today.  Could barely walk today.  A challenge.  Have a heating pad on my back now.

Met my boss for lunch at the White Peacock,  Had my usual ham, mayo, & lingonberry sandwich.  Yummy.  Around the book case from us were 2 guys & 1 lady,  Tonight picked up my take home food for supper at Pizza Hut & the same 3 people were sitting in there.  We all laughed!

Went in to work.  A friend met me there with a very old book on 4 counties near here wrote in the late 1800s.  So interesting!!  We had a lot of conversation around it.

I started on a new Swedish Pavilion book.  Not a lot of photos.

My other coworker has been ill & we both coughed often.  But as the day went on we did get a lot of laughs,  Why can life not be easier???

I went to  Pizza Hut for French Fries, a chocolate chip cookie & a Pepsi.  The manager & I had a nice visit.  Oh for the fun changes coming to Pizza Hut.  Fun times ahead!

Home for supper.  But I faded around 8pm & took a nap.  Now I am finally writing my blog.

My nephew had twin calvesy today.  What cuties they are.  Wish they would wander near my yard so I could get a photo of them!! They did share a video with me.

It stayed pretty cold today.  And going to work there was freezing drizzle.  There were places in Kansas that got rain but certainly not here.

Fifty years ago my senior class basketball team won the state championship.  What a memory!!!  So glad I was there.  We were tied & the last shot in no way should have made it in.  But it sure did!!!

There was a book written in Sweden in Swedish all about Lindsborg KS.  I saw it years ago.  Looked at it again today.  I took photos for my blog from it,  Plus I was surprised how much I understood what was written.  Of course I grew up there & that helped.

This is the book,  I am not sure if there is an English version or not.

Our movie theatre.  And we were wondering where the large letters spelling PLAZA went to.  Threw that question out to a couple of places.

Taken from high up on Coronado Heights.  If there is no traffic I will try to get a shot.

Painting of the King of Sweden by Lester Raymer.  One of my favorites.

I door in the walled in patio at the Lester Raymer studio.  I worked there for around 5 years.

Artist Alba Malm & her husband,

Artist Malcom  Esping who worked in metals.  He is holding a wedding crown he made.  All brides in Sweden used to wear a crown at their wedding.  Few do now.  But the churches still have them.  His daughter & I were around the same age in school.  We are friends today,

Artist Frank Reese who did metal sculptures.  One was given to one of our presidents.  His son was in my class & was my Swedish dance partner.

Train that belongs to the Old Mill Museum & it sits in our old town.  I need to walk over to get a good photo of it.
