Today's Name Day:  Bengt

Had a cousin in Sweden name Bengt Larsson.  I stayed with him & his family for a week.  He was such a sweet man.  And he drove me all to see cool things.  The river, church, cemetery, museum, eating out.  And there are many people here in town with the last name Bengtson.

    Another less than good day.  I knowingly ate something I love but I know my stomach does not like.  That was for supper last night.  As a result I had a sickly tummy today.  I am an idiot.

    Miserable weather here.  It got to 97F here this afternoon.  Winds were only around 30mph gusts.  And no humidity at all.  Low humidity means no chance of rain here.  An 8% chance of rain next weekend & a whopping 30% chance of rain in 2 weeks.  

    There were 21 cities in Kansas that broke heat records.  Smith Center got to 100 & broke a record from 1907.  Salina was one to break a record at 96.  I beat them.  Cool tomorrow & back to 90 again on next thursday.

    My house is super hard to keep cool.  AC keeps it too cool.  I keep trying different settings.  Having the heat on is rediculous.  I have it all turned off now.  See how long that lasts.  (now up to 77.5 in my living room)

    Lots of cattle near my house with their little calves.  No llamas.

    Today was a festival in Lindsborg.  Vaffledagen.  Celebrating waffles.  It is a true Swedish celebration.  But Swedes do not do costumes, or yelling, or whatever.

Here every restaurant & bar serves their own version of waffles.  Some sound pretty good.  Others not so good.  Just a real waffle is the best.  I have never been in town for it.  Cannot do that much walking.  The joy of rheumatoid arthritis.  😢    

    Had an email from JL.  MM shared lots of photos.  He is working & celebrating waffles without a costume.  And serving lots of beer.  Still green beer.  A photo of him & a coworker who is also a professional singer.

    Still no CBS here.  Stupid.  Someone involved or both are just greedy.  Can get the CBS news on their link,  I can get CH12 on my laptop.

    May carry out trash tomorrow.  Too hot to try today.  I do have mail on my porch to check out now.

    Photos are from one artist.  And photos of my mom.  Would have been her 105th birthday today.

Mom was a twin.  Her twin was born just before midnight but still born.  Mom was born after midnight.  She did not learn this until she was quite old.  I made sure her sister's grave has a marker. She was not named but I did not want her totally forgotten.

Today's Name Day:  Joakim,  Kim

Known many Kim's.  CF's stepmom,  kids I went to school with, & others.

    Today was a bit more normal.  No jammies today.  But super tired & a touchy tummy.

    Too hot today.  I saw the temp hit 93F.  Think that was the hottest.  Winds are mild but there have been two fires in Kansas.  One was a controlleld fire that got away from those in charge.  And a second also.  Both are under control now.  Better today than tomorrow.  High wind tomorrow.  Hate that.  

    I had kind of planned to carry trash out today.  Too hot.  Let my one bin lay over until monday.  Set it upright & it would not stay.  No bueno.

    I managed a nap this afternoon but woke up an hour or so before my alarm.  Cinder has stayed close.  Kisse is hiding out somewhere.

    I ordered the cats some treats.  I gave one to Cinder.  She debated for a while then ate it.  Will put some out with their food.  Maybe try some in the bedroom tonight.  See if they like it.

    Have the national news on.  The world is going to hell.  An idiot attacking one country.  That country attacking several other countries.  Drones attacking a base here. Hawaii may be flooded if a dam breaks on Oahu.  I hate that.  Beautiful area.  And the death of an actor.  Not one I ever liked.  Sorry for him & his family.  And the huge dome of heat that has moved into the west US, moving my way, & then to the eastern US.  We are so blessed.  Not.  Our weatherman showed the drought area in Kansas.  Moving my way & not a chance of any moisture in the rest of March.  The weatherman dared to say there is a scant chance of a shower a week from now. Ha.  What is he drinking????

    Can no news ever report good news?   Or does none exist here.  So sad.  

    I heard from MM.  Some news that involved me.  It will resolve itself.  Long email from JL.  She is having temps in the 90s.  Text from cousin ND.

    I found a family photo album online.  Not looked like it for a long time.  Photos there from the late 1800s to maybe 20 years ago.  Even putting those photos together I saw I already felt not part of my family.  Except my aunts, uncle, & cousins in Denver.  It was awesome to see photos of people I loved.  Even my kids who loved me as kids.  All my mom's family.  Fun family times back then.  Miss those.

    The Barnyard Creamery is open again!!! I can get my soft serve ice cream!!!  Tomorrow for supper there.  Can sit in the car with the AC on!!  Should have went today but too tired.

    A friend of MM went to get fuel for his car & did a short video.  Fuel price is now way over $3.  Yikes!!!
