I have been busy all day. I started the day working at an art auction. It is put on by a museum I used to work for. I take the money for new or renewed memberships. Fun to see people especially old friends from work. I miss working but I never really fit in much. Oh well. We have a live auction and a silent auction. I bid in the silent auction and once in a while in the live auction. I bid on two things and won both. I got a ceramic piece called Pharoah and a painting called Company. The painting speaks to my soul in many ways. Things I have experienced and something I need more often than not. And rarely have. Saw one painting sell for $25,000 and another for $17,000. Wow.
Then my brother and I ate at Jalisco's. And headed for 2 soccer matches. We played one of the top rated teams. And it showed. Lost both.
Two girlfriends came to the last match and sat behind me. Fun to chat with them. They even said they may include me when they go out in an evening. I would enjoy that. I have no friends to go out with and have a cocktail or two and visit.
A good friend came to the match too. His father is here from Florida. Got a big smile from one, a nice hug from the other. Made my night. Sometimes need both and the hugs are pretty rare in my life.
Nico missed me today. What a greeting I got. Nice to be loved instead of being greeted with a sour face and being ignored.
Tired now. First 3 photos are the art I bought.
Living with several chronic diseases and sharing fotos from the internet or taken with my iPhone 15 Pro or Pentax K-7. And writing about life in this day and age.

Good day!
My day started with my Swedish group. And a surprise visit from two people from Sweden. We knew they were coming but not when. Wonderful to see them!
Had my usual lunch with my friend J at Jalisco's. The best Mexican food and the best staff. I am lucky they consider me a friend! Good conversation with J.
My brother gave our mom a really good camera for Christmas one year. And she used it all the time! It takes film to use. My brother has an old film camera also. We want to spend a day or two taking photos with those cameras. Would be a fun day! And hopefully he can give me some tips on how to capture a good photo.
A wonderful friend my youth who has stayed is still a friend sent me some special photos. When I was in junior high and high school he played in a band. They would practice in his back yard. Being my neighbour, if they practiced, I was in my yard watching and listening. He sent me two photos of the band this afternoon. Oh, the youthful memories. They were the best. He is an awesome singer. He can sound like any of the great singers we grew up with. Band's name was the Upbeats.
My weather alarm radio went off. Severe storms forecast for this evening. And heavy rains. Take the rain but nothing more. I hate storms. I was in a tornado once and have a fear of wind. I love thunderstorms but the wind just terrifies me.

¡Lluvia!
Ayer tuvimos fuertes lluvias.
Hoy vi a mi oftalmólogo.
Rain!
We had very heavy rains yesterday. My spouse read our rain guage and thought it read 6 inches but only was 3 inches. If he would only wear his glasses. More rain coming tomorrow. Maybe another 3 inches.
Our driveway was under water yesterday morning but I made it through to go to town and to eat at Jalisco's. Then I bought some groceries.
Today I saw my eye doctor. All is well. No sign of any damage from having diabetes for 25 years. But for the last 3 months or so my eyes do not feel well. Especially in the morning. I have something called Band SPK. Means that when I sleep my eyelids do not quite close completely. There is a narrow band of dryness across my corneas. I will use some eye gel when I go to bed. Should feel better then. I hope.
Came home and napped with Nico until I could see again. Hate having my eyes dilated. But has to be done once a year.

Amo a mis amigos allí. Es bueno verlos.
Hoy es un día de descanso. Nico y yo dormimos muy tarde. Bonito.
Resting day
I was really busy all weekend. Saturday was 2 soccer matches. Women tied 0-0. Men lost 3-2. But both played fairly good. The second half of the last match was so much fun. On one side was the opposing fans who were jumping, dancing, and singing. On the other side were our fans doing the same. Lots of noise and laughs!
Sunday ate with my brother, daughter, and grandson at the Swedish Crown. Good friends with a waiter there. Had a good visit with all! I had Swedish pancakes for lunch. Mums!
My brother and I spent the afternoon looking at photos that Mom took. There were several from a family gathering. Everyone was laughing and talking. Sadly, many of them are no longer with us. Rather bittersweet.
Monday was my Swedish class. I am loving it! I am lucky to know a lot of Swedish so I am not lost. We did sentences and they were easy, at least for me. Our teacher is awesome. I am pronouncing words better. I look forward to each week! I always start class with supper at Jalisco's. I love my friends there. Good to see them.
Today is a day of rest. Nico and I slept very late. Nice. He was more cuddly last night than usual. Chance of rain tonight. The super strong winds we have had are gone. And it is cooler. Tired of summer.
