This is the weekend my mom's family always had a family reunion. Last year it was obvious to me that those who always had helped make it happen were not there any longer. It was just me as president. The usual ones had either died, were in a nursing home, had no mind, and one cousin's wife had decided that she could no longer be my friend. No idea why and even her kids are clueless. I cancelled. Someone said that decisions would be made over these next year. And they were. I nicely asked if there was one this year and I got a one word answer --- NO. So the reunion has died. Been going on since the 1920s. I will miss it and those who are no longer with us. And so sad that no one younger wants anything to do with it. I do not mind helping but not alone.
I have wondered outside a couple of times. Truly awful out. It is 99F outside and while the humidity is at 24% it feels more like 90%. Worse than a sauna. I hate it.
