02/2025 Onsdag the 05th - Wandering & Capturing Moments

Today's Name Day:  Agata

    I had a great day today.  Stayed very cold overnight with fog & icy roads.   I read online that the roads were worse further south so I was not too worried about going to work.  I even managed a short nap after lunch so I was feeling good to drive.

    The road to town looked either slick & icy or just wet.  I drove safely at a slower speed.  In town the streets were fine.

    Working on a book of photos from a family.  They have lots of photos. No clue how many albums to go through.   I got that book done & started another one..  The first book one of the ancestors had a fur farm. Too many photos of dead animals.  Usch.  Second book is just people.  Much better.

    We discussed politics in the office today.  We are all scared & fearful of things that are taking place in our country.  It is awful.  Plus we had a local happening to discuss.  Lots of busy talk!

    LL got us all drinks from the White Peacock.  Always good.

    Warmed up a bit this afternoon but when I left work there was freezing drizzle falling.  Did not last long,  Fog forecast for tonight from 9pm through 6am.

    I have had a terrible time trying to get a coat that fits.  The first one was the right size but felt like I was drowning in it.  Second one was too small..  I could only wear like a tee shirt under it.  Ordered a third one.  The large size but no hood.  Perfect.  I tried it over my sweater & cardigan.  Perfect.  Roomy but no huge hood to get in the way.  I like it.

    Mexican supper.  Good to see my friends who work there.  One waiter's wife & daughter were going to leave & glad they changed their minds.  He would have missed them sooo much.  Me too.  Nice family.

 

02/2025 Tisdag the 04th - Wandering & Capturing Moments

 

Today's Name Day:  Ansgar

    What a major change in the weather today!!  We were in the 40s yesterday.  Liberal KS in the SW of the state reached 80F.  Usch.  But today it was 22F all day.  And most of the night.  I have not been out yet but will soon.  Mail has been delivered to my porch.  And it has been cloudy all day.  Might be fog & ice moving in overnight.  See if it gets warm enough I can get to work tomorrow.

    I slept good & not much pain when up.  Did take a short nap.

    Cats have been quiet & napping.  I just turned my tv on & that usually makes them alert.

    TV is nothing but superbowl.  I might watch but I am not a big fan.  And ads from lawyers.  They should not be on TV.  One group are crooks.  Or so I have heard.  On Snapchat the main ads are for some gross looking liquid called Dose.  I can just imagine how awful it tastes.  At least I can click it away.

    Not much communication for me today.  MM did text me early.  Glad he is not sick this week.

    Read about a school shooting in Sweden.  Ten adults & the shooter were killed.  It is the worst in their history.  Sweden rarely has violence like we do.  Very sad.  In a town I know of but never been to.

02/2025 Måndag the 03rd - Wandering & Capturing Moments

Today's Name Day:  Disa

    My day did not start good.  I wanted to go to Hutchinson.  But when I got up this morning I could barely walk.  I could not even stand up straight.  I did not want to cancel but I know I cannot travel or walk through a hospital clinic like this.  I rested on the sofa & took some pain pills.  After lunch I was better.  I half heartedly put on make up & got dressed.  And took off,

    I was ok driving & got to the clinic & walked in fine.  I got a stack of papers I had to sign.  Had to sign my name 7 times.  No problem.  Going back to my car was ok.  I had a close parking place.

    On the way home I wanted some ice cream.  Stopped in McPherson at Dairy Queen to get a hot fudge sundae.  Hit the spot!!!  I deserved it.  Then home for a short nap.

    It did not get too cold last night.  It was 50F my house when I left today.  Lindsborg was in the 40s.  Got to Hutch in was in the 50s.  After being inside the wind had really come up!!  Trash day tomorrow but no boxes moving out to near the trash bins.  The closer I got to home the lower the temperature got.  Right now it is 29F.  Cold.  Staying in.

    On the weather at supper they are forecasting icy roads on wednesday.  No!!!  Work day!!!  And next week snow all over Kansas.  Won't say how much is expected though.  Too early.

    Got home & decided to leave the couple of trash bags in the house & fill the second empty trash bin with boxes,  It held quite a few.  Looks better outside.

    Saw a huge number of geese flying near some water.  If I was not driving I could have heard them.  Cool.

    Feeling ok tonight.  Probably because the front has passed by.  I am sure that is why I hurt so bad this morning.

02/2025 Söndag the 02nd - Wandering & Capturing Moments

Today's Name Day:  Candlelmas so there is no name today

    Today was a great day!!!  Slept well.  No major aches or pains.  Really warm today.  High was 67F.  Amazing.  Makes all the summer-loving people happy.

    Got word that our beloved 47 signed in major tariffs on our neighbours & prices will be jumping soon.  They suggested to fill ours cars with fuel today.  Luckily I was on empty & filled.  See if prices change overnight.  I am so ashamed of our government.  And terrified too.

    Then off to the SVAFC.  Today my brother gave a talk on his photos in his show.  Had a nice gathering of people there to hear him.  He reconnected with a couple of friends.  And one is my friend now so we got to meet.  A great day!!!  And so fun!!  They had a nice table of snacks after his talk.

    Supper was pizza hut.  He had pasta & I had garlic bread.  I am a carboholic.  They were great!

    Ended the day with some groceries.  Got home & took a very short nap.

 

02/2025 Lördag the 01st - Wandering & Capturing Moments

 

Today's Name Day:  Max 

Max is a super special name for me.  One of my fave uncles was Uncle Max.  How I miss him.  I remember our last meeting.  I was scared he could not remember me but he asked it I wanted to go bowling with an ornery smile.  Makes me cry.

    Quiet day today.  Slept good last night.  Luckily it was cloudy here today.  Without the sun blazing in the windows, my house stayed very comfortable.  It is 73F now.  Been that all day.  Windy tomorrow they say.

    Cinder ignored me all night.  Odd.  But as soon as I was up she was curled on me.  Same for my nap.

    I sat outside for a while.  Around 60F outside now.  Took photos of our cattle & the llamas.  The llamas were not real close but I saw them running together.  So cool!!  Those are my photos today.  Plus one really odd but cool photo. 💗

    TV today absolutely sucked.  Hate weekends.  Finally have a show I like..  Josh Gates on the Discovery Channel.  Beats any network show.  Even if reruns.  Tomorrow night will be ok.  Awards show & 60 Minutes.

    Tomorrow JR gives a talk on his photos at the SVAFC.  Hope we get a good crowd!!!

 This is on my car.  A mud splatter in a perfect heart.  How cool is this???

The llamas when they quit running.  Wish they were closer.  Probably are now that I am in the house!
