08/2025 - Lunes the 4th - JOURNEY

My baby.  Missing him.

Today's Name Day:  Arne, Arnold

Known several men with these names.

    Today was a day of being depressed & resting.  Not up to anything else.

    A bit warmer today but cool last night & will be again tonite.  Then the heat returns until the weekend.  Then cooler & chance of rain.  

    Kisse followed me to take my nap.  Cinder never showed up.  Slept in the living room.  Missed her.

    Have a hair appt this week.  Should have washed my hair today but no energy.  I have learned to listen to my body no matter what people think

    Rain in the state but nothing near my farm.  As usual.

    Today we had 2 earthquakes of numbers 3 & 4.  What is going on?? Here is #4.

I never feel them even though are near where I live.

    My  way to Lindsborg is still closed.  Now they closed another part of my paved road but this one on the way to Salina.  Lordy, only close one at a time!!!  Trapped at home!!! 

    Watching Rachel Maddow.  She is one of the best but has NO good news.  No comment.  Curious?  Look her up.  And cry.

    Nice to have a day off.  Work many days this week.  Will miss LL as she visits grandkids.  Hope she has a a great visit.

    My Swedish group is having a field trip on friday but I am not going.  Would mess with my insulin & lunch & then working at 1pm.  Dang.  );

08/2025 - Domingo the 3rd- JOURNEY

Cool summer corner in town.  I finally got a photo of it.

Today's Name Day:  Tage

    Had a busy day.  Worked at the SVAFC.  Visitors were pretty steady.  Met many nice people.  Some familiar, some new.  An art opening at the local art gallery attracted many people to town

    Since it is sunday, the string group came in to play.  Very pretty.  I enjoyed them.

    New man in town that is a pain.  He trapped LL & I in the Peacock & had no idea how to be quiet & say goodbye.  He came in 3 times today.  He was rude to me.  Told me he did not want to talk to me.  Left slamming the door.  In again for the second time.  He wanted to talk to who worked on saturday.  How would I know?  Slammed the door again.  Then the third time.  Now he is pissed at my town.  Complaining people are rude.  Must be politics..  More slamming.  Later I heard that he has maybe been banned from the Peacock & maybe the Stuga.  What a mess.

    Supper was pizza,  Very good but I ate too fast.  Then had an awful coughing spell,  Yikes!!!

    Dessert was soft serve ice cream.  Made me feel better.

    Got home & a mosquito came in the house.  He was wild!!!!  I had my repel stickers on.  Did not matter.  I finally killed him when landed on me.  I wonder how many bites I got that I am clueless about.  My back it itching.  Real bites or paranoid???  I have itching problems from my RA.  Who knows.  Not seen a second one yet.  GRRRR.  I hate summers in Kansas.

    Two storms in the west of the state now.  One is small, one is medium to large.  Will they make it here??

    I drove home & got so depressed.  Why???  Had a friend who says all the right things to me but is always too busy to spend time with me.  He is super inportant to me in my life.  MM sent me a photo of the two of them.  I am always excluded.

    I spent extra time at MM's father's grave.  Today is the anniversary of his death,  Plus today is MM's oldest son's 6th birthday.  NO ONE in his family has made it possible for him to see any of his sons on their birthdays or Fathers Day,  How awful.  He may never get to see his youngest.  His mother is evil.  She is a liar, hateful, self center screws around.  She lies to him & lied to me many times.  Know it now,  Wish I could work miracles.

08/2025 - Sábado the 2nd- JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Kajsa, Karin

Known both Kajsas & Karins.  Had a teacher name Karin.  Had a dog named Kajsa.

    Had a good day.  Just too tired.  Slept good all night.  Still my usual pain.  Never quits.

    Worked at the Old Mill.  Really busy so LL worked upstairs.  Not time to chat much.  Won't see her again for a week.  But she will have fun family time!!

    I finished the photos I was working on.  Good.  I sorted through some loose photos and stuff in the box of photos I have.  There were some stuff not to scan so there is a MISC collection.  There were several to scan.  Have 3 left to finish next week,  Kind of know what I am doing next.  There are several large envelopes with photos, etc in them.  And somehow they are all hooked together at the bottom..  Will leave them & rename in a unique way.

    Today there was a large car show in town.  Almost 200 cars there.  When I went to work I drove by the Stuga.  They were packed!!  No parking on that block!!!  Supper was better.  If I was not so tired I would have stopped for supper.  Just came home.

    There was an earthquake near town.  People really felt it.  I did not.  I was in my car.  Wonder if my cats felt it?

    Wonder if my paved road is open yet?  I like driving by or through the cemetery every day but it takes twice as long. 

    Cool day.  High in the mid 80s.  Low last night I think got down to 59.  Awesome.  Rain coming tonight.  Have to go out to bring a couple of things in.

08/2025 - Viernes the 01st JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Per

Known several Pers.  Mostly relatives or friends in Sweden.  Including one who mentioned today is his name day!!

    Had a good day.  Started with lunch at the White Peacock with LL.  She could not stay too long.  Short of help at the Mill.  But we had a good visit.  My lunch was excellent.  A build your own sandwich  ---- a biscuit, egg, cheese, & bacon.  Yummy.

    Then I worked at the SVAFC.  New art show.  This month it is the John Whitfield Retrospective.  It is by far one of the best shows ever.  He did all kinds of art  ----  paintings, copper, cement, sculptures, wood, & more.  I love just being there.  Had many visitors.

    Then the editor of the local newspaper is having trouble.  I cannot figure anything out.  Neither can my assistant.  We worked most of the afternoon.  The editor & his wife are not very internet savvy.  I work there again on sunday so maybe then I can figure something out.  He is such a nice guy.  I feel awful for failing him.

    MM introduced to one of his friends.  She and I are now friends.  Had a nice morning chat.  I like her.

    Supper was Mexican.  Good food,  I got my supper before JR did.  Pretty soon one of the staff walked in carrying a grocery bag with hamburger buns in it.  My had ordered a burger!!  I giggled knowing JR waiting not on cooking but the bun!!  Fun!!

    Got home & I crashed in bed.  So tired.  I woke up about the time for my alarm & I was totally confused about whether it was the middle of the night or not.  It was not.  So I got up to work on my spanish.  Went better than usual.

    I have one Swedish friend who posted for 2 days nothing but videos of where he was & he spoke about things where he was.  It was great to hear his voice.  I might try that.  I did not understand too good but I did pick out a word or two.  He is also part of a group who plays American bluegrass music.  Love those videos.
