Auction Day

Every 6 months the art gallery I used to work at has an art auction.  I get to sit at the membership table. I love that job. I get to see all those who attend, many of whom I know from my working days. I get to see lots of art. And if I am lucky, I bid on a few pieces and might even win.

Today was a lucky day for me. I bid on one piece in the silent auction pieces. And lost it in the last minute. But there was a carving that my great grandmother did and I won it!! I sort of knew what it was worth and her stuff usually goes pretty high. I got a bargain today. I am thrilled. Her name was Anna Larkin, but better known as Grandma Larkin. She died before I was born. I also bid on and won a painting by Ray Stapp. I took piano lessons from his wife when I was 5 years old. A group of us tiny kids wrote and performed an opera of the Three Little Pigs. I was the farmer!

Then a good friend bought a small painting but she never looked at it close up before bidding. She won and then did not like it. I took one look at it and fell in love. A snow scene. I bought it from her. Made us both happy.

After the auction ended I went to Jalisco's. I just needed to relax. I was the only one there. I chatted a little bit then just relaxed. My friend J came to sit and chat with me. When she left I ate supper. I was in no hurry.

When I got home I treated myself to some tequila and coke. Made me feel lots better.

Pretty much a perfect day.

            

Viernes

Buen clima hoy. Sin viento, cálido pero no caliente. Comencé el día con mi grupo sueco. Tomó algunas decisiones y tuvo una buena conversación.

El almuerzo fue en Jalisco con mis amigos J y G. Siempre es bueno.

Había planeado quedarme en la ciudad toda la tarde, pero estaba tan cansado que fui a casa a echar una siesta. Parte de RA es fatiga. Me desperté con mucho más dolor de cuello y mi reflujo ácido era bastante malo. Tuve un evento esta noche pero me lo salté.

Trabajé en mi vieja y vieja pc. Eliminé todos los programas que pude. Lo usaré para mi genealogía. Mi nueva PC pequeña ya dejó de funcionar. Grrr. Eventualmente lo arreglaré. Ahora no.

Friday

Nice weather today. No wind, warm but not hot. Started the day with my Swedish group. Made some decisions and had good conversation.

Lunch was at Jalisco's with my friends J and G. Always good.

I had planned to stay in town all afternoon, but I was so tired I went home to nap. Part of RA is fatigue. Woke up to much more neck pain and my acid reflux was pretty bad. I had an event tonight but I skipped it.

Worked on my old, old pc. I deleted every program I could. Will use it for my genealogy. My new little pc has already quit working. Grrr. I will eventually fix it. Not now.

Jueves

Tuve un buen dia. Había planeado llevar a Nico al veterinario esta mañana, pero era demasiado vago. Dormimos hasta tarde, almorzamos, dormimos en el sofá y luego nos fuimos. Él se queda allí hasta el lunes. Él tiene algunos disparos anuales y pruebas para obtener y las uñas de sus pies cortadas. Estoy ocupado y no quiero preocuparme si está encerrado en su habitación todo el día o si lo deja afuera todo el día y después del anochecer. Lo mejor para nosotros dos.

Pasé un par de horas en el pavo real blanco. Simplemente relajado con un vaso de té helado y surfeado en mi iPad.

Elegí a mi hermano a las 5pm y nos dirigimos a la universidad. Mi hija trabaja en la cafetería y se lleva el dinero del niño. Ella salvó la mesa junto a ella e incluso puso algunas hermosas flores allí para mí.

Los niños son muy divertidos. Me gusta estar allí. ¡Incluso llegué a saludar a mi jugador de fútbol favorito! ¡Oh, desearía que fuera el próximo otoño! Y luego mi nieto y su compañero de cuarto vinieron a comer. Es bueno verlos. Luego a casa cuando la cafetería se cerró.

Buen clima hoy. Sin viento, temperaturas agradables.

Thursday

I had a good day. I had planned to take Nico to the vet this morning but I was too lazy. We slept late, had lunch, napped on the sofa, and then off we went. He gets to stay there until monday. He has some yearly shots and tests to get and his toe nails clipped. I am busy and do not want to worry if he is locked in his room the entire day or left outside all day and after dark. Best for the two of us.

I spent a couple of hours in the White Peacock. Just relaxed with a glass of ice tea and surfed on my iPad.

Picked my brother up at 5pm and we headed to the college. My daughter works in the cafeteria and takes the kid's money. She saved the table by her and even put some beautiful flowers on there for me.

The kids are so fun. I like being there. I even got to say hello to my favorite soccer player!! Oh, I wish it was next autumn! And then my grandson and his roommate came to eat. Good to see them. Then home when the cafeteria closed.

Nice weather today. No wind, pleasant temperatures.
