Better Tuesday

I will try to write some today. The day started out very warm. Over 70'. But in the afternoon, I could watch the temperature drop pretty steady. I finally got Nico and then the two of us took a nap. And he even let me sleep! Pleasantly surprised.

Rain was forecast. Not a drop yet. West of us. North of us. Never here.

I was outside this evening and I heard a Bobwhite Quail. He was fairly near my yard. I learned that the male quails with no partner sit at the edge of where the couples all roost. The single males all sing in case another male dies, etc. Their songs are a reminder that the lonely female does not have to be alone! So in a way it is a sad song. We used to have many quail here but one summer there was a bad hail storm that must have destroyed many eggs. I miss them.

I made an appointment for Nico to go to the vet's for the weekend. My schedule is just packed. I want to enjoy my activities instead of worrying if he is being taken care of. Plus it is time for shots and clipping his toenails.

I apologise for always being in a down mood. It is difficult to be in a jolly or positive mood when one has a chronic and painful couple of diseases. And get very little support except for my daughter, son, and some cousins. But I will try to post more positive things.

I just got a couple of boxes in the mail. My spouse took Nico out and I was going to bring him in when I was done opening them. But, surprise, surprise! My spouse brought him in far too early. So I opened and kept loudly saying NO pretty often. Nico understands so much and minds many things. NO is not one of them. And as often as he hears it,  he plays dumb.
