Wandering, 11 january 2022

Today was a nice day.  Slept good and not too much pain.  And I can see fairly well.  Fur kids were pretty nice.  Nico must have missed me.  He is cuddled up close to me.  And sound asleep.  So sweet.  Kisse is curled on my DVR.  Her fave spot.

I got ambitious and changed purses.  That is a dirty job.  It was long overdue.  Full of things not needed.  I thought I was going to get a new purse for my birthday but that person forgot I had one.  No problem.  Friendship is better than gifts.

There is no food in the house thanks to the grocery store being out of everything.  They ask if they can substitute when out of something and I said yes.  Still got nothing.  So my last 2 orders were only partial orders.  I had food but did not want to take time to cook.  I called Jalisco's on the way to town and made an order and told them I was running late for a meeting.  I got there and my table was set with warm food and a cold pepsi.  What a wonderful place!!  Perfect!!  And I had some chocolate for dessert!

Had a board meeting before the Historical Association.  Good meeting. Then we had a speaker who is one of my faves.  Interesting and funny.  Talked about history of Kansas, especially Saline County and McPherson County.  I learned a lot!  Want to learn more.

The speaker mentioned that where we were sitting was once a Kaw Indian camp.  He said that we do not honor those we hurt for no good reason.  Made me stop and think.  A couple of miles from my farm many years ago was a small community for black cowboys.  They were needed for cattle drives but were not welcome to live in any town.  They had their own.  I had no idea.  I will forever remember that town when driving past it.  My town did have black people but I do not believe they lived in town.  They had their own cemetery.  Sad it is on military land now.  No one can get in to take care of it and you know they do not.  So sad.

Nice weather today.  Warm with a chilly night.  Now the stupid weatherman has said we are on the edge for snow this weekend.  Yeah right.  Believe it when I see it.  Won't be enough to help.  Ooops.  He just said the entire state will be affected by snow on friday and saturdat. Big laugh.

Lots of Christmas lights still on.  If I had time I would have stopped to take photos.  Maybe tomorrow night.

Photos tonight are photos I edited.  FB: FYI the photos are partly mine and partly not mine but I did all the editing and blending.  Wonder if that is a sin??
