Wandering, 22 january 2022

    Last night was just not my night.  I did sleep very early in the night but not for long.  After that it was nothing but toss and turn.  And it did not help that Nico had took all of the entire middle of the bed and would not move.  I tried.  He growled.  When he finally moved I thought all would be ok.  Wrong.  I finally gave up and went to the sofa.  Fell right asleep.  Slept until 11-ish.  Then a good nap this afternoon.  I am so weird!  

    Nico and I were outside around 1am.  I always look around yard with my flashlight.  There were 2 deer just SW of the house.  Very close!  But could Nico just mind his own business.  Of course not.  But fun to see them while I could.

    I try to always see beauty wherever I am.  Yesterday while outside for a bit there was a hawk soaring low over the prairie grasses.  Looking for lunch I imagine!  I never see too many birds.  I really need to start feeding the birds again.  I always enjoyed watching them.  The juncos are my favorite birds.

    Nico and I sat outside for a while this afternoon.  It was 50F but still chilly.  But nice for a while.

    My friend who moved to NY called the other night.  We talked for a long time.  Almost like she was still here.  I am glad we are still in touch.

    Last night I finally passed my Spanish Babbel class.  I took that dang test at least 4 times.  There are 40 questions and can only miss 3.  The things I missed were just plain stupidity ----- misspelled words, substituted England for Spain, etc.  Really irritated with myself.  But last night I got them all.  And even started the next lesson.  And it seems so easy.  Ha.  I know better.  Will get harder!!

     Photos are old snow photos and a rainy one or two.  Taken back in the good ole days when we had rain and snow.  Ahhhh.  What memories!  The flautas with my name were done by the cook here at that time.  We were good friends.  The last photo is my tornado shelter.  What fun to be locked in there during a storm.  I did not ever clean it this year and never needed it.  Next spring I will.  I always mix a strong water and peppermint essential oil solution and soak the inside ---- walls, ceiling, floor, chair.  Nothing invades my privacy in there!!
