What a shock! I had a good day! Can you believe it? It was a bit cooler overnight. House stayed sort of cool.......this morning. Now it is the usual hot & humid --- worse in than outside. I saw 101F. Yikes!
My plumber came this morning. He is MF. Bad news. I cannot get a tankless heater. Oh well. He will come back tonite or sunday afternoon to stop the cold water from running in the tank. And he will fix my AC. My old guy best not call or anything. I am furious with him. I am assuming he is either getting extremely forgetful or just could not care about me in anyway.
I worked all after noon at the SVAFC gallery. It was the best day!! Had a new show with good art. Great visitors. There were 3 college age kids came in first. They did not look too arty. But they were. The girl thought I looked familiar but they are from Wichita. I do not do enough there that we would run into each other. Then a mother & 2 daughters from Colorado came in. And sat & chatted a while. Nice people. After them a group of 5-6 came in & two were from Canada. But they knew my town inside & out. And they knew art! What a fun group! The former local newspaper editor JM came in. I really do not know him but he sat & chatted. And a local cop came in to chat also. What fun! Then last but not least, JR came in.
What a difference to have people in my life. I am sure I am doomed to be mostly alone but I am adjusting to that. But to day was nice.
Friends are starting to harvest wheat across from my farm. Used to be our wheat land. A guy walked from one tractor to another. It looked like Willie walking. Bittersweet.
Last evening & I am sure this evening the air will be heavy with brown sand from the Sahara Desert! Happen every summer. It was cool to see last night. Then sunday there will be smoke from like New Mexico or somewhere. Aren't we lucky.
Photos tonight are just photos of the prairie & a flower or two. The one photo has a pheasant in it. The lamb is not mine. I just love it. The purple flower is milkweed growing in the ditch. Never had it here before.
