Today's Name Day: August, Augusta
Very familiar names to me. Had relatives named August, male name. Had an aunt Augusta. And today a good friend named Agustin, a Mexican name. Worked at Jalisco's but now lives back east working for his brother.
Had a great day!!! Slept well with only 2 low sugars. Ate & right back to sleep.
Too warm today. Saw 65F for a high. Stayed there all afternoon.
Worked at the Old Mill. My coworkers celebrated my birthday with drinks from the White Peacock. There were pastries treats we had also. Nice to be remembered. Then on friday LL & I will lunch and she is paying. This is my week!!!
I had a box of school photos from Falun & Smolan KS. I worked most of the afternoon to get it all sorted. I put all the photos with names together & those with no names together. There was a large group of photos that looked like it would have been a great year book. I knew all those kids & took photos for myself to keep. There was a handwritten recipe book of cookie recipes. Cute. And there was a questionaire about Smolan. I did not know the answers.
There was a huge scrapbook from a local teacher. Oh, for the articles, invitations, memories, & photos. I knew this teacher. Willie had her & so did our kids. Plus I took care of her husband in the hospital. She had an article about Falun & Smolan no longer using crank phones. I got married in 1966 & we used crank phones for 10 years. Think we were the last in Kansas using them. So in 1976 we got modern. I posted the article plus the teachers name. And the comments I got!!! I am still smiling! So much fun!!!
Supper was Jalisco's. And my Mexican amigoes. I had carnitas. Ate with out stomache problems. Then ice cream from Dollar General. Perfect.
We have rain forecast for tonight starting around 4am. Even slight chances of thunder & lightning. Maybe some wind. Good!!! Then thursday night snow moves in. Yay!!! Finally winter time. My camera is ready for photos!!!
Cats are napping again. Cinder was here for some loving attention. Kisse whizzed through here also. Quiet now.
Nice to be in a good mood. Rare for me!!! Helps to not focus on who has forgotten me & appreciating those who care. Helps.
