National Nachos Day

Today's Name Day is Gustav, Adolph

       I had a solitary day.  Everyone was busy & quiet.  I slept so-so.  Stayed too warm all night.  Probably the same tonight.

    Yesterday the Smoky Valley looked pretty blue.  Today the air was clear.  It was foggy this morning but I missed it.  Supposed to be foggy tomorrow until almost noon.  I will see it.  Getting up to go vote.

    I took Nico out & sat for a long time.  Did us both good.  I played with my new camera on my iPhone.  The pond was all shiny looking.  And then the cattle came near my driveway.  I could zoom in to get pictures of them.

    I tried to nap but my mind was running at top speed.  I am so upset about Nico.  Every day is so unknown.  What will I do without him?  I think he does not feel the best today.  Where is Willie when I desperately need him?  Not told most people.  They all have their own troubles.

    I did talk briefly with JS.  He was at the docs with his partner.

    JR & I are getting our Covid shots this week.  I get notices from a medical site on how much Covid/flu is increasing here.  Great.  I have one friend who is terribly ill.  Not Covid, but really really bad.  Hope I do to get that.  I am about ready to start wearing a mask again.  No bueno.

    Last night when I got home after supper, Cinder was sitting on the porch.  But she would not come in. Then I never saw her again until almost noon today.  Because of Nico, I was almost in a panic!  I cannot lose her also.  I called every time Nico & I were outside.  Nada.  She stayed in until just now.  I ordered her quietly to not run away again!!

    We have a small cold front coming & it has played havoc with my RA.  I could barely walk all last night.  Almost tried crawling.  Awful pain.  No creams helped at all.

National Redhead Day

Today's Name Day is Eugen

    Had an extra long night!  No idea why!  Time just moved sooo slow!!  Nico had me up several times until around 4am.  Then we all slept & cuddled.    

    It got much colder than I expected last night.  I saw 39.  I had trouble getting warm!!  Today was 70 with a little breeze.  Sat out with Nico for a bit.  The pond was sparkly & calm.

    Supper was at Pizza Hut.  We had a nice greeting. 😊 Supposed to meet a friend there, but he never showed.  Too bad.

    Had a nice visit with JR.  Came home to get Cinder in.  Been out all day.

National Bison Day

Today's Name Day is Sverker

    Had a pretty good day!  Not enough sleep but survived.  A nap was needed!!!  I tried not to doze at work.

    I worked at SVAFC today.  No art show today.  Had some repair work done  yesterday.  I was there so people could bring in their art for our sale/auction later this month.  I brought my iPad to work.  I have books & magazines on it.  I read some magazines.  Mostly Apple ones with info & apps.  Kept me busy.  And I learned a lot.

    JR & I had supper at Jalisco's.  Good to see everyone.  Food was extra good tonight.  I had a flan for dessert.  Awesome!

    JS & I did a video call.  Good to see him & good to hear SM.  They had some bad luck last week but things are doing good now.  Getting ready to move to a new house.  It looks beautiful.  Lucky them!

    I am sooo tired of my road being closed.  And will be to almost Christmas.  Oh, joy to the world!!

    Little cooler today.  Warmer again tomorrow.  The 50s return midweek.  Good!!  Maybe -- maybe not rain too.  I had 20 minute rain drops on my car on the way to town today.

    This is a tough month.  Willie's injury was in this month & his death soon after.  Today I missed him a lot.  Never said anything.  Does not matter except to me.  But I always talk to him when I am near his grave.  I felt alone today.

National Sandwich Day

Today's Name Day is Hubert

    Had a pretty good day.  Slept good.  Watched the cattle sitting near my front yard.  They were all calm.  No sun on the pond though.  The bulls were near my yard also.

    Nico was pretty good today.  We had a short nap.

    I was scheduled to work tomorrow on the 4th at the SVAFC.  But then I was a told they would not be open for some reason.  But today I got a call to work anyway.  There is no show there but people may be bringing in their art for our Christmas sale later.  Will bring my iPad as I have magazines & books on it.  Might be a long afternoon!

    Had supper with my boss & friend LL.  I picked up food at Pizza Hut & we ate on her deck.  It was so nice out.  Nice relaxing time.  But did get cool so we went in to chat.  I was craving Pizza Hut French fries so that was my food.  They are the best!!!

    When I got home tonight there was a deer standing in my back yard.  Very cool.  I got a photo but the camera flashed & I worked to fix that.  We stared at each other until he walked away.  I had a brief moment to get a photo.  Wish I had had more time!

All Souls Day

Day of the Dead

Today's Name Day is Tobias

    Today was a great day mostly.  But got sad news.  That later.

    Met MM, KW, & my youngest great grandson for lunch.  SM was so sweet!  Fun to hear him say Grandma & I love you!  Made my day!

    I got brave & ordered something new.  It was supposed to be so good.  Nope.  Just bland tasting.  I tried salt & queso.  Well, now I know.  Banana bread at home made it all better!!  And 3 plus hugs before heading home.

    Warmer today but nice.  It was in the 60s today.  Light winds.  Watched cattle by the pond.  Need more cattle in the pasture.  I would see them more often!

    I really did not expect my vet to call but she did ---- right before going home.  There is nothing --- NOTHING --- she can do for Nico & his diabetes.  There are no pills or liquids.  In other words, he will die.  Hard to believe.  She has offered to check with experts but swears there is nothing.  Then I will let him be happy & loved & calm.  I am so sad.  Just hard to believe there is nothing at all to do.  Diet will not do much.

    Nico has a bad temper.  Anything he dose not like or want he strikes out.  Done that since he was little.  He has bitten me bad enough I bled so bad that I almost went to the ER, but got it stopped by myself.  It is the way he is.  He strikes out then he will cuddle with me.  He only wants his way.  She knew this but sold me all sorts of stuff.  I have a huge sack of food he will not touch.  She knew that.  Will give it away.  He has lost a lot of weight so I do not worry about cat food.  He can stand to gain a little.  I am lost.  No Willie here to help me deal with it all.  Where is my support group?  Always just me here alone.  Still trying to improve my thinking but damn hard today.  And no one knows or cares.

National Diabetes Month

Today's Name Day is no name.

It is Allhelgonadagen

    Finally it is a work day & I am ok & worked!!  So glad to be there & see everyone.  And see the changes made & hear about changes to come.  Posted 3 photos online & got some interesting comments.

    Sleep was a joke.  Nico had me up every single hour.  Finally at 4am he went to sleep.  Sheesh.

    It got cold again last night but 10 degrees warmer today.  But the wind feels cold.  I bought some diabetic socks I have started wearing.  Not binding.  The foot is a bit thicker that the rest of the sock.  Very comfortable.  I have Halloween ones on today.  I ordered 2 pairs & got a surprise pair.  They are black & orange socks.  Kind of cool.  Their Christmas ones are on sale now.  Ordered 3 pairs.  They are knee highs.  And with the cooler weather I love them!

    JR & I ate at Jalisco's.  Good to see everyone.  Food was extra good.  Saw a couple of friends there & chatted.

    I turned on Spotify in my car.  I clicked on an Elvis song I liked & unknown to me, I opened a Christmas album.  So I have started listening to Christmas music today.  It is time!!
